I've always disliked that you had to choose a side to beat the game. Im not fond of either one, but I choose depending on the background or race of the character. I usually end up with the Empire.

I just made a Vigilant of Stendarr roleplaying character (nerd lyfe), and I'm walking around in my gear (will list below what I have), and I'm walking and chillin', and I see a bandit, and he attacks me, and we're fighting, and he said "Pray to Stendarr while you still can!". I'm just so satisfied that they accidentally made roleplaying easier for me. :D
-Adept Robes -Adept Hood -Dwarven Boots/Gauntlets -Amulet of Stendarr -Dawnbreaker* -Spellbreaker* -Azura's Star* -Dwarven Sword (as a backup)
Character is Imperial, and sided with the Empire, because of the whole "Stendarr being the patron of the Imperial army" thing...
*I know these are Daedra artifacts, which is a no-no to Vigilants, but there are a couple things to note here. -The Daedra that gives you Dawnbreaker is not considered 100% evil. She hates the undead and necromancy. -Azura is actually considered one of the "good" Daedra. - ... [SPOILERS MAYBE] ... Spellbreaker is a tricky one. The one that gives it to you is not considered good, or hates something bad. BUT in the process of obtaining the item, you pretty much destroy a lot of things that she needs, in the end, taking a step in crippling her.
Should be noted this is a Vigilant that will go to any means, to protect what he believes in, including use Daedra stuff and whatnot. Even if another Vigilant is like "pl0x leme hav ur stuf its evil" they die.
Yey for roleplaying and lore... Maybe. Dunno how much you DUSTies are "into that".

When I was on my vampire character (another roleplay-only character. I even got a mod to make vampires more fun! :D), I saw that book and picked it up to see what it was. And I started reading it, and I eventually got the joke, and I was like OOOOOH YISSSSSSS. I got the one about the loaf of bread she had to knead, and then put it in the hot oven. Exactly that. I may or may not have read it like 10 times.
Seriously though, that's #1 on my list of books that make me laugh. My favorite books in-game though are probably the ones that explain the creatures, or tell stories. Immortal Blood and Physicalities of Lychanthropy, specifically. I made a couple typos there, if anyone ones to fix them. Win8 says Lychanthropy isn't a word. :(
Immortal Blood was my favorite, because it helped me understand why the Vampires work they way they do. :D

Every time I play through the game, I end up as an assassin for the Dark Brotherhood, usually as a Vampire Dark Elf, which leads me to join the Stormcloaks, [SPOILERS] because killing the Emperor of the empire I am sided with just doesn't really make sense.
Speaking of Skyrim, does anyone have an good characters I could play as, as I would like to get back into the game?

Right now my character Aardvark Von Ratnik (10 points if you can put a finger on the reference) is Khajit deep specced into sneak skills and illusion, alteration, and Conjuration (screw destruction). Really fun to use the daggers and be a cat and when times get a little crazy I resurrect zombies and use Illusion spells to make everyone fight against themselves. Pretty interesting.

Snow, I'd like to direct you to a good one, if you like Assassins.
Cryptstalker. Blend of Stealth + Necromancy + Bow. Potions and Poisons help out more than you'd think this build.
Basically: Silent Casting. Most useful perk ever for any mage-assassin type.
Stay hidden, find a target, Stealth kill him (Tip your arrows with Ravage Health or another insta-damage poison, to help ensure a OHK, as not killing him in one hit will increase chance of being seen by the entire room). Raise him as a zombie. And then watch **** go down. Illusion spells help control the fight (you won't be actively fighting, but your undead minions will). Alteration has a Quiet Footstep spell, IIRC. Super helpful.
Another one: The Nightmare. Stealth (again) + Illusion + One-Handed. Poisons help roleplay and are pretty powerful, potions aren't required, as the Nightmare should have his weapon equipped with Drain Health + Magicka.
Again, Silent Casting.
Stay hidden (again), find a target (again...), DON'T kill him. Instead, you can cast Fury on him, making others kill him. And then make them kill eachother, and ultimately kill the last one yourself. I can't remember what the exact build is, but I'll get it to you soon enough. You can also get Frost Cloak, which will help you kill people without them ever seeing you (Area around you is a DoT, IIRC). That, coupled with stealth, is a good combo.
I have plenty more. But first, as a gift to everyone here, I give you this: If you're like Snow, and you're looking for extra playstyles/roles to fill so you can have more fun with the game, that's the perfect page for you.
(NOTE) Both of the builds I listed above have specialized poisons they can use, that help out with roleplay, and are just awesome. Example:
The Nightmare's roleplaying is built around something like a spawn of Sithis, out of judge the unworthy, or something like that, using Illusions and stealth to kill people off and terrify them. It has a potion called "Mortal Fear" or something like that. It's really just a DoT Paralysis potion, but the build-maker renamed it and gave it a description to help with roleplaying. Something along the lines of "The target's fear become real in his mind, rendering him immobile, while a deadly toxin rips apart his flesh." something like that. Poisons and Potions can help with RP surprisingly a lot. There's a build dedicated to drinking potions, and them being "blessings" from the 8 Divines. Like a Fortify Block/Heavy Armor instead being called "Shield of Stendarr". And all the poisons are instead Daedric Curses you inflict on wrong-doers. It's really unique, actually.

My favorite ES character ever started out as a kind of joke oddly enough. Female Orc. Strange, I know.
I was messing around in the CC trying to make an Orc look "pretty" because I was bored. After about 3 hours of messing with sliders, I (miraculously) succeeded. She wasn't as pretty as the other races, but passable, besides the fact that she was bald.
Then I decided I would give the character a try considering all the time I spent on it. Came up with a simple backstory that was inspired from one of the Orcs in one of the strongholds and Sapphire in Riften. Basically, she ran away from her stronghold because she didn't want to be married off, was captured by bandits, raped, and became somewhat dark/evil/sadistic because of it. By this point in time, I was getting somewhat invested in the character.
I decided to finally role a Stealth Character as well, which is an odd class to pair with an Orc, but whatever. I made her ultra specialized in One-handed, Sneak, and Illusion, with small emphasises on Archery and Conjuration. I made a point to get Muffle/Invisibility and the Assassin's Blade perk ASAP. I completed the Dark Brotherhood Story by level 12, so I had the Blade of Woe (Best 'sneaky' dagger in the game) early on. By this point I was slitting throats left and right.
After about 35 levels, and two DLCs, I had finally gotten the Invisibility spell. This was a gamechanger. Keep in mind that I was 1-shotting Draugr Deathlords/Dragon Priests by this point, so Invisibility made me insanely OP (to the point that I had to turn on Expert Difficulty for it to be a challenge at all). I found the Shrouded Robes that you can get in the entrance of the Falkreath Sanctuary are the best clothes for this class. The Hood isn't ideal, but the set actually looks really good. And as some people know, appearances are important for a RP Character. Gloves with the back stab enchantment are a must for this class.
This class type has a strong emphasis on Magicka, because casting Invisibilty/Muffle isn't cheap, and you will find yourself doing it A LOT. As a general rule, spend 3 levels on Magicka, then 1 level on Stamina so you can perform Sneak rolls better. None on Health, as your low armor levels will end up with you being 1-shot by practically everything in he game later on anyway. This build is focused on ghosting the entire game. It can be really fun too, knowing that you WILL die if the enemy sees you really makes some dungeons very tense. I highly suggest becoming a Vampire Lord for a class like this, it complements the play style very well.
By the end of the game, you can OHK Elder Dragons. Its insane.

That will make Skyrim an infinitely more fun game. Some of the classes here DO need DLC, but most of them are vanilla. Here's the Cryptstalker, and the Nightmare of Sithis. Both seems pretty good. This page will show you perk spread, equipment/armor you should wear, and the poisons/potions you can make to improve roleplay experience, gameplay, and killing ability. :D
