Why would we skip 1.9? Of course they will use 1.9. Even if it is just an insignificant . This is because it represents time and time is not something they want or need to throwaway.

This is not how it works.
2.0 doesn't come after 1.9 when referring to updates.
It goes 1.7>1.8>1.9>1.9.1>1.9.2, ect...
It resets to 1.0 when when we leave Uprising. That way the version isn't called 'Name 2.0' even though it's the first iteration.

Quite a few are thinking/hoping, based on various rumors and hint dropping, that the next expansion (2.0) is coming shortly after 1.8's content and followed up fixes. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. is a version count that can be severed at anytime. Edison attempted to create a lightbulb over one thousand times before he finally hit "lightbulb 1.0". What's the version count in that? Conversely, when I woke up this morning, I was groggy, really light sensitive and didn't want to turn on the light in the bathroom, missed my first attempt to actually p*** IN the toilet (p***ing in the toilet 1.0 was unsuccessful) so I attempted again, this time with the light on, and what do you know, p***ing in the toilet 1.1 was a success. Latter that day I moved on to p***ing in the toilet 2.0 (which was an immediate success by the way).
So, as I hope I have clearly demonstrated, there is no reason why "uprising 1.9" cannot be skipped.

Why do you want Pilot Suits? I cannot see a scenario by which adding them to the game is a positive outcome for Vehicle users.
Scenario 1: Vehicles are not changed as they currently are and Pilot Suits are there to just make Vehicles better. This means that Pilot Suits are just a flat buff, making Vehicles overpowered or more unbalanced. Not good.
Scenario 2: Vehicles are nerfed around not having Pilot Suits so they are needed to overcome the nerfs. This turns Pilot Suits into another SP sink for Vehicle users; "a Scout doesn't need to put points into dropships in order to be a better Scout". Bad.
Scenario 3: Pilot Suits add something that is not mechanically more powerful and is just a minor buff (turn radius, reload speed, etc). This avoid the problem of Scenario 1 and 2, but why spend 2.7 million SP that doesn't help you that much?
How are the advanced/prototype suits balanced? If you intend to only stay in a Vehicle, which is the only reason TO use a Pilot Suit, what would an advanced suit give you that would warrant using it over a basic suit? If they have modules that make Vehicles better and thus advanced/prototype suits have more slots, that just falls right into the problems of Scenario 1 or 2.
I just don't see a situation where I would want a Pilot Suit. |

Well lets be honest, while the monthly cycle was nice they didn't release enough per patch. They have alot to release, much more to balanfe and tweak.
I wouldn't be surprised if they move to a bi-monthly update cadence instead.
After all, none of were really interested in the smaller patches that consisted entirely of performance updates.
At least this way we can still be enthusiastic about each patch.

The month iteration pattern was brought in to get through the problems of Uprisings launch as quickly as possible. It was stated by several Dev's that the this monthly pattern would only be a short term solution and once the major problems were sorted, the original bi/tri monthly pattern of the closed beta would be returned to.
The other thing that we have to remember is that they'll be working on the next named expansion now as their main focus while feedback we've given for 1.8 is coded into the patch.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for March either, honestly I see this being the last patch before fanfest. Maybe something big after fanfest but I HIGHLY doubt it.
If they've abandoned the monthly cycle they need to inform us, regardless if this was the original plan or not. No more excuses. Just flat out say we are now working on quarter updates or twice a year.
Then give us a nice idea of what is going to warrant a hotfix, because CCP is famous for 2steps forward with 1 gamebreaking thing every single patch. Those who can't wait will leave rather than just lose hope in CCP and leave anyways. |

Silly forum-goers. Stop being silly. 2.0 has been used by CCP to discuss certain big updates to mechanics. It wouldn't surprise me, if 1.8-1.9 go over fairly well, that they open up right before Summer with a new expansion. It'll attract players, even reviewers to come give Dust some feedback and criticism.

Although I realize that an FPS is fundamentally different from Spreadsheets in Space, I remember when you would see "EVE is dying" all the time on the forums. Yet EVE is still around and still growing year after year. I have faith in CCP to eventually get it right. We will be shooting each other in the face land griping about "X is OP" long into the future. |

Besides, good developer companies give about 2 months of paid vacation and a few breaks in between to cool off from being in the computer for 8-12 hours.
If Shanghai had last month and Christmas, chances are they only have 2-3 weeks left of vacation for the whole year. Maybe 4.

Monthly patches were better, because you only had to put up with FotM for a month. Tank514 is lasting for 3 months, it's mentally draining and it makes you want to play something else instead of waiting that long for a fix. |

Monthly patches were better for the players but the added planning and testing had to have an impact on implementation time. Agile development cycles works for some types of projects but it doesn't work so well when Sony QA is involved. From what has been discussed by the devs it sounds like special concessions were made by Sony to make the monthly releases even possible.

And for the record, CCP usually names their expansions according to the following based on Eve Online expansion patterns:

I don't think that the case at all for ME3, Bioware was pushing content updates monthly with weekly balance changes across all three platforms. It simply comes down to cost, the patches are quite a bit Microsoft charges in the neighborhood of 40k, I don't know how much Sony charges but it's probably similar. They were as small team post release and pulled it off.

Thank god for that. Leaves me with allmost a full month of collecting SP before the new toys arrive. I dont know about Any 1 else but i dont rely that CCP saves me by giving out a free respec. Better be prepared then getting screwed over.
