Silly forum-goers. Stop being silly. 2.0 has been used by CCP to discuss certain big updates to mechanics. It wouldn't surprise me, if 1.8-1.9 go over fairly well, that they open up right before Summer with a new expansion. It'll attract players, even reviewers to come give Dust some feedback and criticism.

Although I realize that an FPS is fundamentally different from Spreadsheets in Space, I remember when you would see "EVE is dying" all the time on the forums. Yet EVE is still around and still growing year after year. I have faith in CCP to eventually get it right. We will be shooting each other in the face land griping about "X is OP" long into the future. |

Besides, good developer companies give about 2 months of paid vacation and a few breaks in between to cool off from being in the computer for 8-12 hours.
If Shanghai had last month and Christmas, chances are they only have 2-3 weeks left of vacation for the whole year. Maybe 4.

Monthly patches were better for the players but the added planning and testing had to have an impact on implementation time. Agile development cycles works for some types of projects but it doesn't work so well when Sony QA is involved. From what has been discussed by the devs it sounds like special concessions were made by Sony to make the monthly releases even possible.

I don't think that the case at all for ME3, Bioware was pushing content updates monthly with weekly balance changes across all three platforms. It simply comes down to cost, the patches are quite a bit Microsoft charges in the neighborhood of 40k, I don't know how much Sony charges but it's probably similar. They were as small team post release and pulled it off.

Thank god for that. Leaves me with allmost a full month of collecting SP before the new toys arrive. I dont know about Any 1 else but i dont rely that CCP saves me by giving out a free respec. Better be prepared then getting screwed over.
