What sort of dropsuits would you like to see once we have racial parity of the all the current suits? (and no, this isn't "GO DO IT RIGHT AWAY!!111!!1!1!!!" this is "sometime in the future of Dust".)
I personally would like to see a 'Commander' class dropsuit.
2 versions in my mind, not sure which it would become.
1st
- Heavy Frame
2nd
- Medium Frame
(Med Frame cus Med Frame) (Heavy Frame because they could explain that it's using the extra power of the suit to make lugging around the special gear the 'Commander' class gets to use easier)
It would have 1 light weapon slot and 1 sidearm weapon slot regardless of whether it was Heavy Frame or Medium Frame.
Would have either reduced PG/CPU cost of, or be the only suit compatible with special equipment and modules including mobile spawns (not drop uplinks, by mobile I mean people can just spawn right onto him like a mobile CRU in a vehicle). Sort of like Warfare Link modules in EVE. (I don't know much on the subject of how they work since I've never been in a fleet that had one and I personally can't use them) (is an explorer, not a combat pilot)
The modules/equipment would only be usable by squadmates and only affect them if they're within a certain range. (so only squadmates spawning on him and getting a hypothetical reduction to weapon kick when within 20m)

Since we're about to get 2 specializations per class once the pilot hits sometime after 1.8, I think it'd we best if we kept the distribution of classes roughly equal among frames. So I'll make a suggestion for each frame.
Crusader Heavy Frame Much like the Sentinel, except instead of getting bonuses for resistance it gets a racial bonus that passive buffs surrounding teammates within a radius and racial bonuses that debuff enemies within the radius.
Grenadier Medium Frame Much like the assault frame, except it trades the equipment for a second grenade slot. Racial bonus for grenade carrying capacity, maybe +1 per level. So if you use your slots to carry a locus and a flux, instead of carrying 3 each you carry 8 each when at proto. Maybe too much, would definitely have to come with a rework for nanohives not to resupply grenades. Racial bonuses for various grenade tweaks (radius, damage, throw distances, just some examples).
Marksman Light Frame This suit would be more geared towards ranged weaponry in exchange for the stealth of scouts. Perhaps a bonus towards weapon zoom and racial bonuses towards specific weapon type ranges. Probably need to get racial sniper rifles out first, but this race wouldn't have to just use snipers.

I am worried about Pilot Suits. The basic idea is that they would give you bonuses for being in a vehicle. Okay, that makes sense. However, you are going to run into two massive problems.
- Pilot Suits make vehicles overpowered as it is a new place to put points and makes them better than intended.
- Vehicles are balanced around having Pilot Suits, meaning they are weak without them. It simply means that it is an SP sink for players that are vehicle users.
Also, what is the reason to use an Advanced Suit instead of a Basic Suit? The bonuses of all Suits are tied to the type of Suit itself rather than the level of the Suit. If they add Dropsuit Modules that give a bonus to the vehicle you are using, it has the same problem as above. I either need to have all the Modules/Skills to run my vehicle to where it is balanced or I just get a flat power increase on something that is already pretty powerful.
I don't see an easy set of circumstances where Pilot Suits will add something useful, but not too powerful so that Vehicles are not overpowered with it or so essential that Vehicles are underpowered without it. If it adds something inconsequential, why spend 2.7 million skill points into it? Let's wait and see. |

I think the pilot suits will be just minor buffs to vehicles, 10-15% shield/armor, increased agility (not speed); minor buffs to aid vehicles. But seriously, if someone's willing to spend 8m SP on a good tank and core vehicles skills and 2.4m on a dropsuit, they deserve a very nice tank (after being dialed back a bit, mind you).

I was hoping the pilot suit would give you extra Maneuverability, allowing you to better control the vehicle your in. Also maybe a passive scan radius, and maybe more detailed info scans, like the ability to get extra info on other vehicles, like the modules and weapons they are running. Also maybe the ability to fiddle with the power distribution, like being able to put more power into shields, in exchange for a slower acceleration. Then again, would the dropsuits have specific bonuses per vehicle type (LAV, HAV, and Dropship) or would they give all encompassing bonuses to whatever vehicle your in.
One last thing, would the pilots suits traits leave the vehicle if you left it? Let's say that they implemented a 10-15% vehicle health increase (when the driver is a pilot suit), would the health just disappear if they hopped out? What if they switched seats? Would the bonuses stack if there were more pilots in the vehicles?

i want to see eve tech 1 and tech 2 counterparts. along with unique suit models for each suit.
Lights = frigate medium = cruisers heavies = battleships
interceptor suit - fastest of suits but can only use melee sidearms. electronic warfare - that can choose engagement range, modules that prevent enemy weapons from firing, jamming, dampening, etc. covert ops - cant equip weapons but can deploy equipment to help others. like jammers or sensors, spawn uplinks, ammo. stealth bombers would be called saboteurs and can use explosives when uncloaked. (runs up to heavy and logi, decloaks behind them, drops remote explosives, cloaks and runs away) a light drone suit that uses a single drone to help defend itself, drone will target players behind this suit. he gets one active while he can carry 2.
Mediums: we already have logistics and assault, so the recon that i have different ideas about what id want it do and cant decide. and a drone suit that can use drones defensively or offensively 2/3 active at a time.
commandos would move to the space between heavies and meds and keep theyre current role of dual weilding light weapons as high dps gank ships. a commander suit would go here, filling that role of marking enemy units, or having a mobile spawn uplink fittable to the suit, and gives bonus to suits nearby them. (perhaps an amarr command raises damage resistances on suits for pushing or defence.) and some form of tank suit that would act like a drake or myrmidon. able to fit powerful active tanks but not much else.
heavies: marauder - tech 2 sentinel that loses the ability to move while increasing hp and damage resitance for holding a point. hive mind -uses drones, able to paint targets while drones attack them. more drones than mediums drone suits can do up to 5 drones.

SP sink? Do you prefer to keep it in the Unallocated SP Bank of New Eden? I doubt that any vehicle user is going to have an issue with speccing into a suit that makes their vehicles stronger--I wouldn't. The same argument can be said to logistics equipment which is now considerably weaker without logi suits...if you want to excell, you gotta let that SP go brah, you gotta let it go.
At FF2013 CCP Remnant talked about War Reporter and Harvester roles but didn't go into detail, rather just saying that they were noncombat roles.
I'd personally like an eWar class of some kind.

Marine - Light frame Similar to Aero Y. Crusader idea, the Marines will have as Bonuses a DE-BUFF to enemies in a certain range. Its a specialized ASSAULT oriented light frame. Traits: GÖª Slots: L , E , and 7 H & L slots. Example Gallente: 2-5 / Caldari 5 -2 / Minmatar 4-3 / Amarr 3-4. GÖª Higher HP than Scouts / Example: Gallente 180 Armor 80 Shields GÖª EQUAL SPRT SPEED than Med frames / Gallente 7SPrt Speed GÖª Higher Movement speed than Scouts / Gallente 5.8 GÖª Lower than MEd frame scan/precision but higher than Scouts / EX: Gallente : 40 scan profile 50 scan precision GÖª Radar Range / 15 mts GÖª The Main Bonus goes to RADAR RANGE / +5% RAdar range per level GÖª The specific bonuses per race are directly affected, by radar range: Examples: Gallente / -5% Rof per level to enemies within your radar range Minmatar / +7% to Dispersion rate on enemy Light weapons within your radar range per level Amarr / -3% Damage to enemy Light weapons within your radar range per level.
Officer - Heavy a Powerful heavy suit without H weapon capacity , but an area that buffs friendlies close to him.Contrary effect to the Marines: Traits: GÖª Slots : L ,S , G , E , 4 H & L Slots: Gallente: 3 L 1 H / Caldari: 1 L 3 H/ Minmatar and Amarr : 2 H and 2 L. GÖª Similar HP to Sentinels / Example: gallente/ 300 Shields 900 Armor GÖª Slightly faster than Sentinels / Around + 0.3 faster both speed and sprt speed. GÖª General Bonus: +10% efficiency to Teammate Equipment used on the officer: (this means, at level 5, a Commander will be repaired 50% faster, will restock 50% faster, Will spawn from Uplinks 50% and will be REVIVED with 50% {Also giving 50% more SP to the Teamate that aids the Officer}) GÖª Bonus per race. Something that boosts friendlies in a 15 Mts Area. Minmatar Officer : +1% Damage to all FRIENDLIES in the area , per level Gallente: +5% Profile dampening to all FRIENDLIES in the area , per level Caldari: +5% Scan precision and Scan Radius to all FRIENDLIES in the area , per level Amarr: +10% Shield regen and Armor rep Modules to all FRIENDLIES in the area, Per level (tha amarr gets 17mts AoE because i say so.
Regenerator - Med Frame Regenerators would have Lower HP than a LOGI , while having the most insane Rep bonuses in the game. Another feature would be the LACK of grenades and the extra equipment slot. On another note, Regenerators will have 8 H & Low Slots but a somewhat limited amount of CPU and PG, so that you either equip multiple Basic + Enhanced modules, or need to use CPU-PG enhancements and use fewer Proto Modules. GÖª Slots: L , S , 2E , 8 H & L slots. Gallente : 3h 5L / Amarr: 3 H , 4 L / Caldari : 5 H 3 L / Minmatar : 4 H and 4 L GÖª HP , less than Logis / Gallente: 80 Shields - 180 Armor GÖª Speed, faster than assaults / Gallente - 7.2 Sprt sped GÖª General Bonus / 10% Efficiency to Armor and Shield Related Modules GÖª Specific bonuses: Gallente: +3 Natural Repair per level + 5% Stamina recovery per level Caldari: +10% efficiency to Shield Regulators per level Minmatar: + 10% Efficiency to BIOTICS MODULES per level (making it the exception but still awesome) Amarr: +10% armor REPAIR and Shield REGEN SPEED per level. (at level 5, a Complex armor repairer repairs 6.25 , TWICE per second...)

Something similar to the quafe but call it "the queef" dropsuit. Like other suits, its "multi slotted". What separates the queef from other dropsuits, is when cornered it omits a disturbing sound that makes male dropsuits flee the area, draining their shields n armor til their heads explode inside the dropsuit.
P. S. It is a female ONLY dropsuit |
