Gallente Sentinels with Rail Rifles.
Armour resistance to the three most common and effective anti-armour weapons, plus the most module spaces for said armour modules. Throw in an OP weapon for good measure.
I also predict a mahooosive rise in combat scouts using the Caldari frame. Same principle again: amazing shield stats combined with the most space for shield modules.

Except the Caldari sentinel only gets one low slot, ever (which would be better served with literally anything other than an armor repairer) and stacking extenders would increase the recharge delays significantly - on top of it taking more time to cook a flux than it would to just wait for the shields to start charging on their own.
But other than that, spot on. |

P.S
The fuse is shorter if you just throw it at the ground instead of cooking.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Flux would likely never be better than just waiting for the regular delay.
The only case where fluxing yourself would be better is situations where you have litterally no shields left (less than 20-30). It takes what, about 2 seconds to flux yourself, then you wait another second for the recharge to set in and then you've only gained a 1 second advantage. And that is only if you flux yourself right away, if you wait even just half a second the advantage is gone.
So fluxing yourself will pretty much never give any advantage.

Except if you stack extenders, one flux grenade won't be enough to deplete your shields thanks to the resistance to splash damage. |

People who fail at math will throw all their saved up skill points into Minmitar Assault because they see GÇ£Damage BonusGÇ¥, and will then be screaming for respecGÇÖs less than 3 days into 1.8.
Hint: The Math says the Minmitar Assault gets its best bang for the buck with only 2 damage mods.
Meanwhile, the Caldari Assault bonus allows a Caldari assault to get the HP of 3 shield extenders, when using only 2 shield extenders. So that is the HP of 3, but the shield recharge delay of only 2. Plus it frees up a slot for an extra damage mod.

Yeah, that cal scout will be scary.
The fit I made has 380 shields, 85hp/s recharge that starts in 1.5 seconds. Just stick back at range with a Rail Rifle and you should be fine. Combine this with a passive 45m scan radius that will pick up any med frame ever, and you are almost immune to flanking.
Watch out for a cloaked min scout though. They will go right under your scan and shank you in the back

Dat 1 sec shield delay.. Lol 1 sec DEPLETED shield delay, you have to wait longer if your shields aren't depleted. And it makes sense, because unlike every other sentinel the Caldari sentinel doesn't get much benefit from repair tools.
EDIT: Read further and heard the thought of Caldari sentinel carrying flux grenades to jump-start his own shields . . . ok, that's clever and slightly scary.

Caldari scout. I don't think the sentinel will be that bad, but consider that the cal scout can get 450 HP, 50 hp/s regen at 2s delay with a ungodly passive scan and a cloak.
Hang at range and use a rail rifle. You'll be able to see almost anything coming your way and kill them well before they reach you. Overwhelming odds? No problem, cloak up and vanish.

Yes, 5.75hp/s will be so beneficial, especially on a suit where if you get into armor you're doing it wrong anyway. Equipping a module that will repair the suit's 488hp in 85 seconds is significantly less useful than literally anything else you could put in that low slot.
A kincat would allow you to run to the nearest supply depot and swap suits faster than that 85 seconds. A regulator would stop you from getting into your armor so much and is really what the suit should have on it anyway. If you're truly a bad player, an armor plate would give you more buffer before death. A CPU upgrade (or hell, leaving the low slot empty) so that you can equip a better recharger/energizer would be more beneficial than an armor repper.
There is literally not a worse choice than an armor repper for the low slot of the Caldari suit. The fact that people are even considering it gives me a migraine. |

Bear in mind that if you survive the damage taken to your armour, you're not likely to receive more to it for a while. An armour rep for a Cal Sentinel is like a constant top-up to your emergency HP supply.

I think it ll have as Many slots as other assault suits, it ll be the new real armor Tanker and it will have the bonus to armor plates they wanted to give to gallente (5% bonus to armor plates per level)

Clearly my amarr logi will be FOTM, i will drown you all in a sea of uplinks and deploy my minion army to throw your tanks into Tartarus.
Oh wait no im nerfed to hell, why would a "combat logi" with a sidearm get a bonus to uplinks.... Surely it should be nanohives or rep tools for healing our tanky amarrian brothers.
Conclusion: a respec or tank spam is required for 1.8. Initiating isk saving.
Amarr logi > tank
As long as its a bad aiming railgun with no defense mods. ;)
