I'm almost inclined to believe scouts shouldn't take any fall damage at all, but that may be pushing it. I definitely think having different fall damages based on the frame size of your suit is an interesting topic to look into.

I think the fall speed should be different for each suit size. this will also be a fix for fall damage.
A heavy is large, less aerodynamic falls fast and hits the ground hard
A scout is more adaptive to jumping of high buildings, so falls slower and hits the ground lightly causing small amounts of damage.

Just for the hell of it because apparently shinobi can fly so i was told(in anime). Can my scout get glider, so when I jump I take no fall damage and can glide mid air to the obj.

I would think scouts take less fall damage because the suit itself is specifically designed to better disperse the impact from landing.

No, if they were the exact same form/shape they would.
I think the scout suit could be sold as a suit designed so it falls slower so it will be adaptive to jumping of buildings.

I like your idea tbh. To me the scout is fragile and breaks easily so a fall would be considered deadly imo.

Real life physics, yes, as long as both objects are equally aerodynamic. Tbh, since scout are smaller, they would have less expensive but less wind resistance
However speed does not equal the amount of force applied on impact. Force=mass x acceleration. So in general a larger object may accelerate slower, the over all force applied to the ground, and in return to the object. Is greater.
Tl, Dr
Scouts will fall accelerate faster, and there for hit terminal velocity sooner then a heavy, but barely. However he distance needed to reach terminal velocity is around 40 feet, and the difference in acceleration would be negligible. In the short distance of say 10 feet, a heavy object will impact with much greater force then the lighter one.
I'm not very good with my physics, but I'm sure someone could demonstrate. Just go drop a bowling ball and a soccer ball and see which one does more damage

It may help to apply stamina to falling damage before shield/or armour damage. The stamina reserves being depleted absorbing the impact from large falls, the smaller falls resulting in less damage just sap your ability to run as far.

I like the idea of Scouts taking less fall damage. It's one of those little things that could add depth and character and fun factor to the suit.

They would fall at the same speed, but heavies would have a higher terminal velocity and more force acting upon it.

Yeah, it's absolutely stupid that scouts take the same amount of fall damage. Scouts are light and nimble, much like a ninja. Reduce fall damage NOW. |
