I played a few games today.
Against full squads of enemies with only a logi.
Total score was 23 tanks, 14 dropsships over three rounds.
It got boring blowing stuff up, and the enemy eventually stopped trying, so I had to go on the ground.
Squaded up with a full crew, and between the two forges, and a tank, enemy vehicles stood absolutely zero chance.
If tanks are rolling over you, you are bad. No more excuses. Stop being a scrub.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

At least explain to us how you took out the tanks and what each player on your squad did to help

I only have SP and its spread rather thin. The problem with tanks is that with a militia tank you can do more damage and a militia suit can't take you out. Of course with all Proto AV and maybe advanced Militia tanks are no problem

What is that, 4 mill?
Throw 2 mill more in core skills, and you can pack it all into a MLT heavy suit. I would recommend the 273k to get an advanced heavy frame at the minimum just for the fitting space for an extra damage mod and hopefully a basic sidearm.
If you don't plan on getting the suit, then skip the grenades, and spend that sp into nanohives and uplinks. Play from the heights. MLT dropship and a basic gallente logi. Take uplink, and two hives. Hopefully one repping to keep you safe from snipers. Depending on the map, you can camp the enemy redline pretty easily, and shoot vehicles in the rear as they leave spawn.
ADV flux grenades do proto AV nade damage, and Allotek fluxes make them freak out.
It is possible to put together a very potent AV fit for a few million SP, maybe as little as three depending on how you invest for your anti infantry suit, and how willing you are to make tactical compromises while you skill.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

Let me guess, you use a Forge Gun don't you? Go AV with a Swarm Launcher or Plasma Cannon and then come back to me saying how AV is fine.

3. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it's balanced. I want to emphasize this point because you seem to be under the delusion that what is possible must be balanced. Tankers didn't believe this in 1.6, despite many of them going multiple matches without being destroyed. There are scouts who run around in ninja fits with nova knives--they get kills, therefore they are balanced? I regularly go positive on my skill-less alt with starter fits, so obviously a starter fit is just as good as a proto. There's not a problem with the matchmaking system, people just need to learn to adapt.
4. And finally: Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should. You talk about teamwork, but what you really mean is buddy-work. If I'm working on a team, and not just out to kill vehicles, I likely have a more important responsibility than chasing down tanks the whole game. Because while I'm off chasing one tank, me and my buddy are leaving the rest of the team defenseless against any other vehicle that decides to sidle up and give them hell. That's not teamwork, that's selfishness.
These are the reasons why your anecdotes and continuing posts are irrelevant. You're setting out to prove a limited point, with limited applicability, and pretending as though the results prove some universal truth.
But of course I'm doing this for the benefit of the people reading your threads, not for you yourself. You've already made up your mind, and wouldn't change it if I presented you with a thousand pages of hard, incontrovertible evidence. So to all of you who have any sense, I leave you this TL;DR:
Don't feed the troll. If you don't respond to his posts, they will just disappear into the archive. Let them.

Any situation where you need to be in a medium frame to fight tanks, you might as well be laying traps and running a rifle. That way you can tend to an objective and be a deterrent to vehicles. That way you have a much better chance of getting away. That way you can operate at a flag and hold it against the infantry that needs to come in and take the flag.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

If a tanker falls for the RE trick, then they are bad and should feel bad. And those weapons are highly situational. Making them incredibly unreliable.

I can shoot just fine. You'd need a Swarm because your not a heavy and Plasma Cannons suck (Learned that lesson the hard way)

Why would (or should) any Anti-Vehicle weapon be a deterrent to vehicles? Especially when that vehicle is operated by only one person?

I'm an AVer because I don't believe in hiding! I don't believe in conceding defeat! If ccp makes something op I find a way, not only to crush it, but completely make the user put it back on the shelf! An AVer is one of the bravest and most selfless fighters on the field. He sacrifices suits, kdr, wp's, sp into nerfed weapons, and isk to do what no one wants to because he won't be walked on! He won't watch his comrades be beat by the "I win button" mentality. Whether proto or starter fit he goes in strapped with everything that goes boom! While proto assaulters run, and leave him with no cover fire. He sprints toward the melee! Walls of lead take him down repeatedly, but he doesn't yield! You may win the battle, but he will win the war! He will go 3/12 with 600 wp's, but you will loose 3 tanks! 1 of your tanks will cost way more than his twelve suits. That's why I am proud to run anti armor for my comrades!
They can buff your tank, but they can't make you nice on the sticks :) |

Popping vehicles is way more fun than killing infantry. Mostly because vehicles seem to be the best example of pay to win in this game, even if it is imaginary space money. |

AV needs work, that's for sure. Sure you can take out tanks with the current iteration but tanks can run away once it gets hairy. Tanks either need a speed reduction or prox mines have to stop giving warnings to tanks. Then at least tanks would have to move with caution when retreating. That might balance things out with out having to buff/nerf much else. But if more was needed I'd look at reducing the blasters effective range, so as to draw them closer to the infantry they are so keen to slaughter, that way they would have to account for AV nades, just like the old days. Rails reward you for holding down R1 and firing as fast as you can which means tank battles come down to who fires first, as the kill shots are on their way before much else can be done on the receiving end. This also makes life difficult for DS pilots. I'd remove the delay in firing when you release R1 and increase the heat build up of rapid fire. Allowing for more tactical exchanges at distance and a short window for rapid fire up close.

Not someone who specked into AV because it was a role they felt they HAD to have to counter vehicles I hate switching to AV. Only got into it back in closed beta when nobody was opposing tanks. Still heavily specced into it for the same reason.
