I recently speced to proto hoping to have the ability to put 15 mines total on the ground. I was hoping to leverage some kind of tactic or new trend. After many, many tries, I just realize that AV grenades seems more effective agains HAV. I do understand that most LAV's nowadays are blueprints (I also own two of them) and that 3 mines is enough to destroy 3 mercs in a LAV. Thats nice.
As far as HAV goes, since I am not a tanker, a buddy of mine said to me, that tanks have warning about them and that the damage done is so insignificant that they roll in them anyways.
So My question is how to properly use them ? We could also ask, why did the game designers kept the damage constant for all levels when grenades do not follow this level up path ?
When hardeners are on, a single mine is really a small anoyance.... I also woud like to opninion of other players on this. This equipment is underused alot in my opinion and its a good question considering people complains about tanking nowadays.... |

is it really enough to kill a tank for a single person ?
you would probably need a proto minmatar 1x advanced prox (x5) 1x proto prox (x6) 1x proto RE (x3) 1x Ammo
total is 12 750 dmg from my count, is it enough to kill any tank without hardeners ? |

Proxies by themselves are to weak and you have to put some RE's in there which makes using them as a non logi suck. The warning systems isn't really necesary due to all the scanning we have going 24/7 but it's fine. Blaster tanks can just stroll up to them and casually blow them to hell. One mega death pile is worse than a few lines in a ] [ or a sideways H shape with 2 proxies between the center and the corners with remotes bringing the punch. You can bait lots of tankers by throwing nanohives in cover right next to a road if the sphere is in view.
And yeah I think proxies should do 1500 damage so that anyone who ignores the beeping actually would be concerned and/or pay for it.

Prox Mines need major looking at...should be doing 2000 dmg per and need to lose that stupid alarm that warns vehicles about them. They are a static explosive charge and shouldn't need RE augmenting.
They should be one of the most direct counters to ground vehicles. Should also explode within 3m when the vehicle gets close. |

I have se en LAV run over them easily on speed boosters taking almost nous dmg because they seem to explode with a delay. I also think they need a rework. But i would still like a dev comment on them |

That's enough to kill 4 gunnlogis or around 3 madis and 1 gunny without hardeners. With? Maybe 1 gunny or 2 madis The advantage changes between the 2 tank types with and without hardeners.

Stack them on top of each in a small clump about the width of an LAV axle. If you spread them out too much they might not go off.

Actually with hardeners you'd be very lucky to even kill a single Maddy...remember hardeners grant at least 60% resistance. Depends on how much his shields eat before hitting Armor.
And if you drop that much hardware in a single location you're asking for it to be fluxed. That's 70 pts. 75 if you count the hive. |
