For example, the Amarr Assault could now have a bonus of (I'm making these up) 5% Armor plate efficacy per level, 3% reduction in Laser Weapon Seize period when overheated, and have the HP value of 120/240. If CCP did not offer the possibility of a respec, the issue of "hey, this isn't what I signed up for, the roles were changed from under me!" will arise. Technically CCP doesn't have to offer anything, but it would be a very unwise choice for a respec not to be given if base stats and bonuses are actually changed. Aisha Ctarl for CPM1

A full respec is out of the question, we just got a vehicle respec last update and nothing dramatic is changing there. An infantry respec is all but certain. What you skill into for dropsuit upgrades directly depends on what you do for dropsuit command. If you put a lot of points into armor modules because the Amarr sentinel has all those low slots, good luck trying to make use out of that if you are moving to Caldari Sentinel. Or if they take away the scout's sidearm, good luck making use of that fully maxed out SMG/scrambler pistol or whatever. Even Commandos, now you have to use specific weaponry to take advantage of the racial bonus. Dropsuit Command, Dropsuit Upgrades, and Weaponry will all be refunded. There's no other way about it. "Changing" is a very broad term. Changing by tiericide and bringing everything closer together wouldn't warrant a respec because those ships still perform the same role, even if not as good. But what is happening in Dust is different, as they are changing the actual function of the suits. If say Minmatar Logistics was getting it's bonus changed from 5% hacking speed per level to 2% hacking speed per level, that wouldn't require a respec as it would still be a hacking logi and function the same way. The Minmatar Logistics getting it's bonus changed from 5% hacking speed per level to 5% repair tool repair rate and range per level however is completely changing the function and what it is used for on the battlefield. That is just an example, but the same can be said for just about every suit in Dust with these changes. ARC Commander CPM Info and Q&A - Status: Open

Eve has thousands of different things you can do besides worrying about what changed. Dust has a marketplace that gets new shiny every now and then.... Dead on the ground.... You could also provide your team spawn points or ammo, revive them, scan for them, and all that good stuff. Heck, the Minmatar logi racial bonus includes a range buff to repair tools as well, and there are already some really long range repair tools. You could heal multiple targets from quite a far distance, and not just heavies. There's a lot more to a logi then just Sentinel support (which is beneficial support, as the Sentinel protects the logi). But yes, the logi is a selfless role dedicated to supporting its teammates. If you're skilling into it for any other reason then you'll probably end up disappointed, but if you are skilling into it for that reason you never will be disappointed because any potential future logi changes will be to make it better at supporting teammates. A respec is inevitable. WHY? Decreasing playerbase. If the 3X SP event has no longlasting effects then CCP has no other option. Numbers? K! 70 million PS3 sold for 4k Dust playerbase. An 80 million PS3 total sold means a larger potential Dust playerbase. But we are still at peak 4k. In otherwords 70m ps3 for 4k THEN. 80m ps3 sold means a larger potential userbase and thus even for static numbers this then means that we needed to be at 4500 to 5000 for STATIC dust playerbase numbers.
