When are the heavies getting new suits? 1.8 is out of the question so when? I just can't wait to get my Caldari heavy and strut around mowing people down then while I'm reloading watch as my shields go back up. Oh shield tanking how you will make a glorious come back

Why is 1.8 out of the question? The suit skills are listed on the test server and the racial parity of dropsuits is the current goal of the developers. We've been told the remaining suits having been in testing and balancing for at least a few months now.
I think 1.8 is very likely.

Until a flux goes there way. I was thinking shield heavy= crazy but when you think about it. It just takes one flux and that heavy is gone. For PC its just flux then core. So shield heavy will be the weakest for PC due to some corps nade spam.

You also forgot to mention how the Caldari also have the ability to hybrid tank their suits.
Though I may sacrifice some of my dual tank for a Regulator.

That's because the current meta favors armor. Back when CalLogi was FOTM, the smart people packed flux. Trust me: if a shield heavy ever becomes a popular/dangerous enough thread, fluxes will be fielded much more often.
All that said: what's a shield heavy good for? Anything outside of normal grenade range. Caldari Forge Gunners, I hope you're thirsty. Because with all those high slots for damage mods, tanker tears are on the menu...

Unfortunately I doubt there will be a Caldari HMG type weapon anytime soon. Sounds more like CCP is going to give each race 1 heavy weapon and then think that is enough and move along.

Caldari heavys will be gods to new players who dont run flux. I for one run flux and almost all my heavy suits but my fast heavy suit. Shield heavys will be good in pubs but in not PC they will die faster then any other suit. 100% im not clowning on caldari heavys but all it takes is 1 FLUX and they are died. Even if the delay is super short, they will die faster. We all know in PC we spam nades and flux.

I wonder if a flux counts as the splash damage bonus? And I can see Caldari Heavies being used in PC they will be the second fastest and will be to regen shields fast let's say your guys flux their nanohives and the other guys have already threw all their hives well that's when Caldari heavy steps in and does his thing. Also I play heavy alot and even when someone tries to flux me I get to kill him because I chase him down that split second he throws his grenade is all a heavy needs. If you think Caldari Heavies are done because of flux grenades you will be sorely mistaken because a good heavy can dip dodge duck and dodge grenades verily easily unless it's a suicide run of course

You're in an armor suit. Pretty sure you'd get fluxed a lot in a caldari heavy suit, just like all the old OP cal logis with 800 shields did.

I'll conceed that, I am vaguely familiar with running Amarr suits. I have actually wondered if they will change the base HP stats since it's no longer the "placeholder" but that's besides the point.
It's primarily armor tanked unless you happen to be some rogue heavy suit shield tanking innovator. Nobody sees an Amarr suit coming at them and thinks "flux". But a pre-nerf callogi, everyone did.
Now, a better question I didn't think of before was whoever mentioned the "splash" resistance and how it might affect them....

With the heavies new splash resistance a Standard flux will do 900 damage, a advanced will do 1125, so no, you wont be immune to fluxs as a heavy. |
