Yup but the Commandos are the DPS except Minmatars but Minmatars are the thinnest of Assaults.
So yeah while they might have the RoF boost, they don't have the bonus to their racial weapons. Amarr got nerfed so they should be on par with the other suits but still nasty because of that Rep Bonus.

TTK (or die in this case) for suits that will get eHP racial bonuses probably stays about the same as it is now with shorter times for suits without such bonuses. Seems like an interesting way to make assault suits better at assaulting than logis without nerfing anything. Minmitar assaults probably die a bit faster, but will also kill faster. I do like that the assault bonuses are actually useful. Amarr assault bonus seems a bit weak (maybe a straight +1 hp/sec to repair like the old logi bonus would work better?). Perhaps a minus 10% to weapon damage across the board would adjust things in the right direction? Time will tell I suppose... |

2) Logibro said they changed suits' underlying stats.
3) Assaults have lost their hp/s bonus on shields, so that has to be changed along with other suits probably.
4) We will be seeing more heavy/commando suits with more HP.
5) Some assaults are getting better HP bonuses now.
6) Some heavies will basically get a 15%-20% boost vs. certain weapons and 25%-30% against 'blasts' (which we assume are explosives).
To me, in a lot of situatioins, this will pretty much even out in terms of TTK. |

This is exactly the type of inflation we don't need in this game.
TTK too low? Increase HP.

Worse yet is that the ROF bonus is not nearly as beneficial to the Mass Driver, Shotgun, and Scrambler Rifle as it is to the Rifles. So now you have 3 Rifles even more overpowered, and 2 of the racial suits are going to have drastically higher HP, leaving those weapons out in the cold.
CCP is changing too many things at once without addressing existing balance issues. |

This is a great example of changing too much.
We're going to to be seeing more suits with more HP AND heavies with resistance to explosives.
That's a pretty severe MD nerf, since the MD will not benefit much from the RoF bonus.
They are deviating further and further from a balanced design, instead of fixing the core design before further modification.
If these changes release as is, it's going to change the entire game, seemingly without taking any input from the CPM, Players, Data, or Observation.

i think the problem is that CCP needs to have fully diverse bonuses instead of having 1 generalized across the board . It would open the doors to truly unique racial suits. Sadly the RoF bonus makes no sense as everyone has been stating that TTK is to fast. Even with the HP bonuses the Rof negates that. They should bring in INDIVIDUAL racial bonuses that plays to the style of each race not just class. For example ( just an example so don't have a cow) Caldari : 5% bonus to shield extenders per level and 2% CPU/PG reduction to shield Regulators per level. It plays out to the Cladari being a shield heavy race and this could be done with others races making for a more dedicated play style. |

I suspect this change is related to making the assaults better assaults than logis, which is not the way it is now.
Combine that with the CPU/PG decrease on equipment for Logis, and it appears CCP is trying to equalize the inequality that currently stands between assault and logis. |

Even taking into account points 4, 5 and 6, it does not change the fact that the TTK against scouts, logis and Amarr (lol)and Minmatar Assault will be the same or lower than it is now..
I hope you are right about points 1 and 2, because it would make sense to also change the base stats of weapons/modules and suits.
I just don't expect sense from CCP anymore. It will probably take them 3 patches to balance it all. By that point, they probably will have balanced and unbalanced the vehicles again.

If a level 5 Commando has level 5 proficiency in the corresponding weapon and uses a complex light damage modifier, it will be
1.10 x 1.10 x 1.15 = 1.3915 (not stacking penalty since only one damage mod, the rest are just bonuses)
So 39.15% extra damage for a Commando.

To be fair, most suits are getting some kind of module efficacy buff. But yeah..... imagine the combat rifle RoF increase (which is massive when you consider the already high RoF of the CR gives that 2% (10% total) buff a much higher base stat to multiply off of) in combination with the damage mod buff for minmatar assault suits. If these skills hold, I can guarantee you that ill be using 3 damage mods, proficiency 4/5, and two shield extenders. That adds up to 42/45% damage buff along with the RoF increase witch means a buff to DPS.
So basically....... 1200 X 1.1 = 1320/60 = 22 bullets per second
Boundless combat rifle = 35.2 DMG per bullet (un altered) = 35.2 X 1.45 = 51.04 (damage increase) 35.2 X 22 = 774.4 damage per second maximum (wow, that's kind of a lot on its own) 51.04 x 22 = 1122.88 damage per second maximum ( 1.5 seconds to down a proto heavy? sounds about right!)
And just for fun ill post the "maximum" damage you could crank out of this suit assuming the racial bonus stays the same and you want a super glass cannon.
With 5 damage mods it comes out to about a 50% damage buff assuming you proficiency 5 on whatever weapon your using.
To put that in perspective, an SR 118 damage per shot (uncharged) A laser rifle would do almost 30 damage per shot (chromosome levels of damage) a combatt rifle would do 52 damage per shot (not a very big increase over 45%)
Basically you would be the ultimate glass cannon. Taking down enemies in a second but also dying in a second. CRAZY!
