They list requirements for if you want to play at max settings. I run a pre-built Dell Laptop, have ~286 GB of free space, and have... I don't know which model, but some kind of nVidia graphics card/driver/whatever, that is probably the only custom part of this computer. I run Warframe at ~100 FPS, drops down to around ~80 if it's a crowded room. However, there are some latency issues sometimes, but that's just because of distance. The most you'll experience is probably a bit of input lag OR minor teleportation lag. I'm nowhere near the systems requirements. I had an issue, at one point, and I sent in a DXDiag report to the support team, and I got an email back saying "Oh, I'm sorry, but you don't even come close to meeting the requirements". So yup. All I did was place a bounty on someone that ganked me, shows you how little it takes to send some people over the edge. People with thin skin shouldn't play games like EVE, they say HTFU for a reason. Anyway if you guys are interested in MOBAs without all the rageiness of DOTA and LoL Guardians of Middle Earth is a good one, but I'd recommend playing it on the PS3, the PC controls were awful and the playercount too small. (originally on PS3, got ported to PC)

Basically, (I'll try to dumb this down for non-EVE players), I was in a Scout, built to be too fast for anything to hit. Everyone else is running Heavies with TOOOOOOOONS of lazors. There were enough lasers to where I couldn't even see my ship through them. They rarely hit me, but if they did, they crushed me. Like, 80 damage per shot with just over 1000 eHP type of crushed. (Or at least the Templar was doing 80. Everyone else was probably doing 30, but it was just so much it felt like 80 D:) So I try it twice with my Scout, and I'm like "Hm, weird, let's try another ship." And this is what I come up with. Thorax: -Tech 2 ENAM (20% Passive Resist to all damage, IIRC). -Tech 2 Thermic Hardener (Active Resists VS. Thermal Damage) -Tech 2 EM Hardener (Active resists VS. EM Damage) Note that Lasers do Thermal Damage AND EM Damage at the same time. I go in on this brand new ship. And I let them take out my shield because lolArmorTanker, and they're now doing something like 3 damage per shot (except the Templar, which was so extreme it was funny. He was either doing 14 damage per shot, or 53, at any point). So yea. That works. Mission specific hardeners are good, but I suspect you had truly abysmal damage output. Tailwind lets you jump pretty high as well, I'm not sure if it'll get better as you upgrade. I haven't tried dive bomb or turbulence yet, needed to level her up a bit, but the abilities so far seem meh. The ult might be good for CC if it works on high end enemies but it's a bit too unreliable. Tailwind is a cool navigation tool but the damage application is sporadic. I've never seen any interest in it myself, as it seemed like it would take a long time to get, and I didn't care to work that long for it. One of our very own DUSTers, Arkena Wyrnspire (probably spelled that name wrong), farmed for months to get it, and finally got it not through combat, but transmutation (melding mods together). It cost him about 60k total credits, give or take? 30k for a failed transmutation, 30k for the Split Chamber. That's a lot. We're hanging out, doing missions, and he's like "You should get a Split Chamber. It's really worth all the grinding.", and I said "Sure, if it works on bows, it sounds good". And then we go into a mission. Wave 5 of the defense mission, we were JUST TALKING about Split Chamber, and on Wave 5, it was given as a reward. What took Arkena months to get, I got in about 10 minutes. GG, random loot. GG. Humans (Losers) - ONLY Ranged, using Crossbows, Hand Cannons, and Bows. - Plenty of traps and gadgets to catch the Vampires. - Weapons to plenty of damage per shot, making it pretty easy to kill a Vampire head-on. - Heal at supply stations. Vampires (My favorite <3) - ONLY Melee, using claws, teeth, etc. - No traps, but they CAN climb buildings (and the Sentinel can fly). Vampires are also in a constant-sprinting state. - Weapons (claws and stuff) aren't insanely hard-hitting, but Vampires have such amazing flanking and ganking ability it doesn't matter. - Heal by 'executing' dead enemies. Meaning you need to kill people to survive. I'm not too great at it yet. The balance: Humans have tons of firepower and can hit a Vampire from way far away (where a Vampire is helpless), while the Vampires can sneak on rooftops and if given the proper chance, tear people to shreds (except the Tyrant which is just a tank). Be me. VERY start of the match, I'm crawling on some rooftops. I see a group (about 4 people, which is max team size), and start charging up a 'Pounce' (the Reaver's special ability. Reaver is stealth-based sort of). I activate Pounce, jump off the building, land on top of a guy, and tear him to pieces. And then, just as I'm getting off of the guy, before any of the hunters knew what was up (I got the one in the back meaning they saw nothing), my team comes in blinding them and ripping their hearts out! We only lost one guy in that engagement, who was stupid and did a failed pounce and just landed in the middle of enemy fire. Basically: With the right timing, Vampires can crush pretty much anything. We proceeded to slaughter the match, and I think the end score was 27-18.
