I was just in a match where I put 12 volleys of my prototype swarm launcher into a militia tank. 12 in a row... I do not care if it was a basic tank, or prototype tank, or officer tank, or a f*cking battle cruiser. Anything that gets 12 continuous shots into it needs to be destroyed.
Lets do the math:
200/rocket * 6 rockets = 1200 per volley. Plus 3 Complex Light Damage Mods, I think the stacking penalty makes it a total of 21% 1200 * 0.21 = 1452 per volley 1452 *12 = 17,424
That's 3x the total HP the Soma had in raw HP.
Oh, plus I threw 3 packed AV grenades on it.
It had one hardener(I'm assuming MLT) and one rep.
Does anybody have any idea how hard it is to get 12 f*cking shots off on a tank and have them all hit, because you OUTPLAYED the tank, and the 15 other enemy infantry?
I'm not even going to get into the games where I put 10-12 rounds of a FG into Militia tanks and couldn't destroy them.
CCP, its no secret that I personally hate every one of you. That's a reason I didn't play against/with you in the Dev Invasion, because I can't stand you being in the game. I can't stand when you respond to any of my threads. I can't stand when you like my posts. I can't stand you. So, this is me talking at you, not with you.
What were you thinking during this buff/nerf? Seriously, what goes through your head? I understand that balance is one thing, but you do things that simply do not make any sense to anyone. With all the things that needed balancing in this game, like Heavies, Scouts, the rest of the racial content, etc. Why did you decide to work on HAVs? What REAL tankers really wanted was sh*t to be fixed. Like rendering and hit detection, and LOCKS for f*ck sake.
It's your game, so you can build it however you'd like. But since we have more experience in FPS than everyone at CCP put together, you'd think we'd have a say, since we stuck it out this long and since you apparently can't get this game off the ground to save your lives. Maybe this thread will get deleted, or you'll try to ban me again like you have so many times to me in the past, because controlling propaganda is all you seem to be good at. But before you fire anymore programmers, please take a look at yourselves and get your act together and your head on straight.
If you're not going to fix tanks and revert them back to 1.6, then consider the following:
1. Increase the price. 2. Lower the capability of MLT HAVs. 3. Lower the vehicle cap in match to 5 total vehicles per side at the same time(including LAVs, HAVs, and DSes). 4. Add more types of vehicles, like actual STD, ADV, and PRO, not just MLT and STD. |

So if your 12 volleys take 2 seconds each that is another 22 seconds after the first.
So your effective damage was 4,600.
This doesn't include shields.
So yeah you can go all day if you fire incorrectly and he has a hardener up each time.
Might be unlucky and it was a MLT tank with better modules allowing longer up times.
I think it might have been more than just a MLT hardener and rep the more I think about it. but I don't know how he exactly was able to pull that build off. I'll admit, i'm still studying and learning the new HAVs, but 12 shots in itself should result in a destroyed tank. |

Because I thought I was in a good position to get off enough shots to bust through his hardener... I was able to get the shots off, but they didn't matter... I got him down to 600 HP twice, but when i reloaded, he'd just heal through it

I knew full well what I was doing. I knew he'd either retreat or have a hardener.
I'm not an AV scrub. I was once a tanker as well, so I know how to take them down. The reason I was able to get 12 shots into him + 3 nades is because I positioned myself on his escape route.
Once I saw the hardener go up after 3 volleys. I tagged him with 3 grenades and proceeded to fire off 9 more volleys into him. I was in such a good position because I OUTPLAYED and MANEUVERED him to do so that I thought I could muscle through his hardener. Nope, I was wrong. a Militia tank was able to outdo my 100k ISK and 2 million SP AV fit, specifically built for armor tanks.
I did get him down to 600 armor twice during this, but my Nanohive ran dry. However, a friendly tank FINALLY showed up and popped him in 3 shots from his blaster because his hardener went down just as I ran dry. I was able to keep him busy until the random blueberry tank showed up. |
