Seriously?
Since 1.7 I feel like I have to re-learn the entire game. My bullets aren't hitting, I'm getting flanked every 2 seconds. Everyone seems to be using 3 Complex Kin-Cats because they are all in fast-forward. I have no clue what I'm doing, or what to do anymore. I'm frustrated and confused. I want to uninstall the game again, and keep it uninstalled. Nothing for me works anymore. i already took a week off, because 1.7 had me so frustrated, and I come back to find that nothing has improved.
How did I go from being good to being down right SH*T since 1.7?
I have enemies appearing out of thin air because they aren't rendering. (Is this a troll from what we had to suffer in HAVs?)
I have red pixels that look like cartoon kool-aid blocking 1/5 of my screen when I get shot AND they are showing I'm getting shot from the OPPOSITE direction.
I have HAVs and LAVs circleing the map like it's Beta all over again.
Apparently every noob on the f*cking planet is on my team, or I get put on a team that redlines the enemy team in under 45 seconds and it stays that way the whole match.
I'm shooting targets at 15m, while they stand still and getting ONE hitmarker, then they turn and just have their way with me.
My eyes can't focus on anything anymore because the graphics look spongy, pixely, and blurry now.
My aim, which I sort of have a reputation for is now non-existent.
I'm using Prototype gear against Basic and Starter Fits just to be competitive. I'm dying hand over f*cking fist... like seriously A LOT. Like double digits. I went 0/16 in a match before I just quit...
I've never done this poorly in this game, EVER. Not even when I first started playing. Did something happen in my brain? Is it just me that seems that the game is making less sense than usual? I was confident playing this game. I had fun doing it. Now, I feel like a f*cking lamb sent into slaughter every single match. I've been playing FPS for over 20 f*cking years, and up until last week, was good at DUST on a very consistent level... now I don't have any desire to even turn on my PS3 anymore. It seems to me the game took 20 steps backwards, or I did...
I really don't know anymore... |

Easy bud. FPS exp rolls over. EXCEPT in this game. to many factors to negate gun skill. (HP, tiers, HAV,) play more causiously. your probably just having a slump. we all have one. even in other FPS games. Stop and look at whats happening in the field. hang back and guard a objective, to help your way out, get back in the groove.
Tho nothing help with the tank spam tho if your not a AV vet. sorry about that.

I've seen the red pixels.
A lot more people are running Dampeners to dodge the active scanners which incidentally mean they disappear on the passive scans most of the time.

Just in case it is you. Fine motor skills going down can be a sign of fatigue or early signs of something much more serious. So if you are having any other coordination problems outside the game see a doctor ASAP.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.

You're not the only one.
I have always done fairly decent, but by no means one of the best. Since I came back after a few months break im getting back into the swing of things but as a KB/M player I am literally gimped in close quarters.
While my mouse aim doesn't go where I expect it, the enemy lock on to me with incredible fluidity and I seem to die even against standard fits.
I find if I'm at range the mouse aiming feels better but its still not as it should be. I know that is a separate issue but I just wish I could at least aim using my mouse properly. I dont want any aim assist or anything, just my 1:1 mouse movement or something. |

As some one said above, you're probably in a fps slump. We all have one. Those days where for some reason you can't hit anything and it feels like everyone's got aimbot lol.
I suggest taking a break... Play a different fps for a couple days maybe. Then come back. It won't exactly help, but it'll get you out of the slump hopefully.

It has to be something like this because everything performance wise has been more smooth since 1.7 hit. I'm not talking about PC though, as I presume that's still a lagfest. |

It sounds like "Well duh" advice, but seriously. If you know that a Letter has been taken, and that there is a fair chance of them heading to cap your letter where you spawned, take the time to set up in a defensible location. Don't run out into the open. Hang by cover 24/7. Sprint from cover to cover.
Playing smart is OP, and when combined with good gun skills and a great squad, not much can beat it.
Just my 0.02 ISK on the matter.

MIght just be a slump, we get them now and then, i know i do. When i hit my slumps, (happens a lot less sense i got my glasses) i blame the game for everything. Just takes some time.

Those red pixels appear to be the new animation for bullets hitting your shield. I'm not enamored by them, myself. CCP could dial them down a bit.
I've had times over the last year where it seems like I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. It goes away -- prolly just going through a slump, bro.

Just a slump man, I know a bunch of the beta vets in my corp are having the same issue. Hell, i'm having the same issue (which is why I got into dropships, i might as well have fun if i'm going to get slaughtered and lose ISK). The pendulum will swing back to the other side next month, and the next 45% of active players will be pissed, and active player counts will drop to around 300 at any one time.
It'll keep going back and forth until there are only 50 of us left beating the sh*t out of each other every day. Dust is probably more of a tax write off than it is an actual game at this point.

Take a break. Hours or days, up to you, but you sound like you need it. When you come back, have a beer and a smile. And maybe a logi.

The new impulse effect from weapon damage slows you down drastically, you slow down.... more shots hit you, more shots hitting means more impulse damage.....which means you slow down even slower, which entails mmore bullets hitting you for more impulse damage. Downward spiral you see...
Simply, you get hit by that first bullet your chance at survival drops to 50%. Probably closer to 10% if a rail rifle is just spamming a whole clip at you. Give that god damn thing an overheat feature dammit... |

Are you stacking 107 complex damage mods? If not then you're just not in a fair fight as it seems everyone else in the game is... It's the only way to play at the moment bro, you could have also been having a bad internet connection day... maybe your service provider is having a bad week... especially if you feel your bullets aren't hitting!

Well, the game actually has some serious framerate, brightness, aliasing, lag issues that can make you unfairly die a lot. Happens to me.
I'm not doing that bad tho, maybe it's performing worse for you or you could use some time spent in other games before coming back to Dust. I improve when i do that.

This. I had a slump 2 weeks ago. It felt as if I aimed at a tank and shot it with my SCR, I still wouldn't have hit it. The night wore on and frustration began to set in. I had to call it a night. I figured out that the more I played while frustrated, the more I raged at the little things and I ended up doing worse. Power down when it gets like that. Happens to all of us.
