Heavy suit should have a AV bonus rolled in as it appears that it's primary role is either full AV or point defense (which also usually requires AV!)

Oh I think this is actually a wonderfull way to go about it.

See I would not have much of a problem with AV (swarms in particular) in it's current form if there was a suit that had bonuses specifically for it to bring the damage up to a decent level.

I think that is just good game design, and this thought should be mirrored across all of the suits present and future.

I like it it would fit the sandbox by defining "classes through role bonusses" about the bonusses hmm I don't know how to find good bonusses with only 3 AV weapons in the game.

Given the current choice we have they seem reasonable.
3% damage boost to missile based weaponry is very good for caldari
the +1 clipsize I don't know this is more a PLC bonus as we don't know what other (light) hybrid AV weapons will come out...
I quite like the sidearm bonus it covers the main weakness of current AV...

Right now, I'm liking the idea...

For example. You have your specific Vehicle for certain situations, I would have my specific AV Dropsuit.
Amarr could bonuses to Forges perhaps?
Minmatar bonus to AV grenades perhaps?

It would make AV a skillset and more of a primary role on the battlefield.

The plasma cannon was origenally ment to be the gallente light av wepon but not many folks use it for its intended purpose so I thought the extra rounds in the clip would bring it to whare it should be. And the side arm bonus should help keep dedicated avera happy when it comes to defending themselves.

Yeah I know the PLC was announced as light AV weapon, but its not clear from its desricption and the way it works. Currently its more a giant on shot massdriver ;/.

Don't get me wrong the bonus will work for the PLC but if you compare the bonus to the caldari one the caldari is much more general and will help even for any missile weapon apart the SL. So whenever CCP decides to introduce another Hybrid AV weapon your bonus may not work well...

hrm you do make a good point but I definitely think the gallentte av suit should have a bonus geared towards hybrid weaponry, what about a hybrid weaponry reload speed bonus say 20% per level ? as it would suit the gallente primary choice of hybrid weaponry and their attack philosophy of hit hard and fast.
