It is safe to use RE's in faction warfare with a couple of exceptions which you should be aware of:
- Remote explosives will still do damage to friendly vehicles and dropsuits so if you damage friendlies it will be tracked. We did however fix the damage tracking calculations which were going haywire and recording far too much damage. - Friendlies can still detonate *your* remote explosives by shooting them and killing themselves. They can then punish you for it. We have not changed this.
We also fixed vehicle collision which was also causing way too much damage. Hope that helps.

So basically you are saying that you did something similar to what I asked about here:

Previously, once one was set off, it would blow up neighboring mines and count towards your damage and thus kick you.
Can I now lay 5 proxy mines next to each other for a tank trap?

Does damage to a friendly Null Cannon still count?
For example, if you drop an OB on reds that are on a blue NC, does that damage count towards a kick?

Cause I got banned last night for having 3 re's on the ground and detonating them under an enemy tank. I killed 3 tanks that game using re's planted on them but the one time I laid a trap for one it just banned me. But there was only one friendly on the area with me and he was inside the building where I told him to go to keep the tanks attention with small arms fire.

Actually that is another exception I forgot to mention, if you grenade your own dropsuit or shoot your own vehicle that will NOT count towards the damage threshold. The ownership of vehicles does not change if a different driver gets in, so if someone on your own team steals your car and shoots it then that is tracked.

sneaking around blowing up equipment doesn't count toward total, yes?

I have watched squadmates get kicked for no apparent reason now, and read over a lot of complaints. Just as an idea, maybe some sort of decay timer on the damage-ti-kick could be implemented? Really go nuts and make it random so people don't work out exact numbers to abuse, but it just seems like there's a lot of shrieking about it. Just an idea.

Removing someone from your squad would cause damage tracking to resume.

No matter who happens to be driving the LAV you called in, you are the only person on your team who is allowed to freely attack or destroy it? If so, I would suggest expanding this functionality to squads: Friendly fire damage to any dropsuits or vehicles owned by anybody currently in your squad should also not be tracked. Removing someone from your squad would cause damage tracking to resume. Too carebear, someone steals your vehicle you can go destroy it, thats good. Having FF turned off for squad mates? Thats taking it too far No no, I'm saying you should be allowed to do as much friendly fire as you like against your own squad mates. Just like you no longer get kicked for killing yourself, you would also no longer get kicked for killing your friends.
If it becomes a problem, just stop squadding up with the guy who keeps killing you.

This is also ok because the damage would have been caused by you, even though your ally detonated the RE. So if somebody on my team shoots my remotes or proximity explosives and causes friendly casualties, do I get the blame?????? I got to say that's idiotic if so!! The person who detonates the explosive should be the one who gets the reward/punishment for setting it off. Obviously for proxies, if they detonate as normal then the owner should get credit. |

That would still be a bad idea in FW since proxy mines will still be set off by friendlies. Sure you won't get booted for the damage your mines do to eachother but you will get booted for killing that friendly tank.

It is safe to use RE's in faction warfare with a couple of exceptions which you should be aware of: - Remote explosives will still do damage to friendly vehicles and dropsuits so if you damage friendlies it will be tracked.
Hopefully all FW equipment damage punish is removed. That way it gives us a means to police equipment spam in FW, also some more meta gaming aspects. |

Please answer Any plans to change the system so that the one who shoots the REs will be blamed instead of the RE owner? Or at least make it so friendly fire destroys REs without them blowing up? If you're not going to change, just say you're not going to change it please.

I don't think this is the case but have not tested in specifically.
I have laid many mine traps (since readings Nullabor's response) with multiple blue/green and red tanks on the field and have not been kicked yet, but that could just be random luck.

CCP, why in god's green earth haven't you fixed the Active Scanning=Team Damage glitch? It's getting incredibly frustrating to get kicked for being an asset to my team and having all the progress I made that day in standings disappear due to your ****** programming.

me and my corp were talking and came up with a fare way to fix faction war and getting kicked as we have been kicked for some odd reson or another [ie] i blow up my own proxys with remotes and didnt even team kill . so here it go's make it so if you have team killed 5 players it gets sent out to the hole team who can deside to kick the player or not maybe by pressing left on the dpad and selecting yes or no' and if you want to have eve ship's able to drop orb's for the dust players then you need to fix it so orb's dont count to the damage done or kill team mates i say this cuz i was in a faction war where an orb would have changed the battle tide and we could have won but you cant ever get any one on team chat to use there mic or they just dont have one and your sitting there thinking ok we have three orb's but will i get kicked for the team kill's if use one and whip out some blue's so you dont drop and lose another one where the orb's could have helped to win it |

I was actually banned last night from FW for using Proximity Mines to detonate Remote Explosives.
Here's the funny part.
After all the LAVs I've killed doing it, I was not kicked. One Gunnlogi rolls over it and I'm banned. The ticket I sent gave the response that they are still tracking equipment damage.
I want my day of LP booster back.

DEVs? You only just said that you are no longer tracking equipment damage (source), but now a ticket says that you are? Clarification please?
