I'm questioning myself now should I just stop using tanks for what they used to be worth. Now HAVs being mocked as cheap little tactics, after being a little viable 1.6 but not useless, it's a shame that now what I skilled since open beta has become hated to all types of degree, I'm almost feeling for a respec so as to not be beat the frag out of by Infantry.
I'm always neutral in this situation, But it's impossible. most people on each side being ignorant and not looking for acceptable solutions that will hopefully balance out both parties without swaying in their favor.
I said in Pearson's Tank vs AV thread to decrease HAV speed by a margin, and increase Swarm damage by a margin, Forges I see fine since they have the range. Also hinted to encourage more teamwork since we seem to now throw that kind of increment out the door.
Like I said I now feel discouraged from using tanks since seen as a cheap tactic, I probably will never have a say in these kinds of discussions. |

Tanks should just be made statistically weaker but reintroduce stat boosting skills into the tanker skill tree. As it stands tanks don't need any sp to on par with the pros, it literally is only experience that separates them.
I also think CCP did this to appease medium frames because it now made them accessible to them were before hand they had to sink sp into it, similar to how the planned scout buff can't be made without the actual buff being accessible to medium frames as well.
I wholeheartedly agree with that. Militia Tanks are just too effective from when they use to useful but weak compared to standard and even enforcer tanks.
And the medium frames are already versatile as it is, but I do feel a slight tweak along with the supposed new scouts and buff coming 1.8. But still, it seems both parties will never be happy until one is completely exiled.
@Heathen, I always have used everything at my disposal. But I kind of missed the teamwork where I would sometimes see spider tanking working and support happening. But now it seems using this tanks this build becoming lonewolves, and AV guys hooping and hollering "NERF!" all over the forums, it gets disheartening when you just want to use your role as it is, Heavy Support.
Sometimes I let my tank get destroyed by AV just to turn tides and make it interesting, Cause I know I can call another one in, which brings out the ISK issue.

Yeah these militia HAVs need some kind of way to not be spammed. Increasing there amount of ISK would mean to increase the amount of ISK to standard HAVs. Unless they made them cheap for upcoming HAVs but who knows?
To me, Tanking technically doesn't need skill, more of awareness and hand eye coordination. You can take any vehicle and drive and shoot, but any new player won't have proper awareness or coordination to be a good pilot.
Back then, i'll admit too that I was able to tank AV (Unless he/she was hoping around like a lunatic). I will usually sit behind my squad and provide support, but even then they were not up to par as swarms become invisible in any direction on the battlefield, and get destroyed in 10 seconds.
But like I said, I'm neutral, I feel for both sides of the equation. I can see how frustrating it is when you are being spammed by HAVs. But I also definitely know how a tank doesn't live up to its name.

It is amusing after a while, But then you feel you somehow exploited a game mechanic or something and then...boredom.
it's getting close. All we need now is some tweaks to AV (most pilots may not like that) like marginal increase to damage. and decrease to tank speed a little, and then hopefully there is balance. Militia HAVs however, is up for grabs, don't how you fix spam.
