God, if you want proof, its in the 8 MLT tanks on the field completely dominating the match and making infantry unviable EVERY SINGLE MATCH.

love it love it..we new players have been getting pub proto handled for some time. I do enjoy the fact that i see lots and lots of protos eating dirt in pubs now.. whos crying now? oh i will troll on since to get from lvl 3 to lvl 5 logi is almost 2 mil sp WTF?
anywho i will tank your ass here and there with a rail tank it makes great anti- armor & a good little wp boast to help a squad get a ob by taking out those pesky installation cannons |

First of all, you are in Nyain San. Nuff said. Second, you just solved the problem. Pitting tanks against the tanks is the best deterrent AND the best thing to promote tank play without letting it get in the way of tanks.
Nyain San would spam tanks even if there weren't any on theopposing team. You guys are all about spamming and exploiting anything that could be OP flavor of the month.
Do your part. Join the revolution. Sabotage FW. Help this game burn!

The fitting that kills tanks and if you hate the 'Templar' JIHAD!! then you are a terrorist. I am a freedom fighter, and I will kill your tanks with any and all weapons bestowed upon me. Do not take the lords name in vain and sure as hell don't let me get into your sweet spot when your timers are on cooldown. Justin, I agree with you. 'Templar' JIHAD!! is a viable counter to tankers thinking they are the new king ****. |

After reading allot of threads about tanks and their opness I have a few observations that id like to put out there regarding the problems about tanks.
Firstly most of the battles iv been in ware the enemy and or my team has tank spammed there has only been myself and one or 2 maby 3 other dedicated tankers on the field i.e. actual high end std havs with complex mots and proto turrets, the rest of the tanks on the field are often sicas or somas.
Now these mlt tanks don't actually last long when pitted up against a well fit std hav. M y best score so far regarding tank battles has now been 11 tanks to 1 of my gunlogis ( of course not all at once ) and only 2 of them were actual std havs. Iv even started getting mail from random bluberry team mates for keeping the tanks off their back lol. Hell iv had enemy sicas roll up behind me and get the first shot on me but because of my experience with tanking and fitting tanks (the most important bit of tanking) I have been able to activate my booster and hardeners only to turn round and wail into the chump.
Now for the flip side I have seen tank spam on my team and just let it happen and observed the results on several occasions I have seen things like swarm launchers emptying their clips and ammo out onto shield tanks with their hardeners active as well as attacking armour tanks just when its hardeners are active , iv watched mlt tanks swallow swarms ( usually shields ) but they always have to retreat after 30 -60 seconds for up to 100 seconds because of low grade mods . I can tank up to 3 swarm launchers for 60 seconds and cool down for 12s with my 2 fully specked complex hardeners if they catch me on cool down then 3 vollys will destroy my hav of course the cool down dosent matter if you have another 3 tanks to take your place.
The points im trying to make are actual fully specked havs aren't op .... mlt havs are too effective for what they are .
having the ability to have 6 high end tanks on your team is great but only when both sides have 6 high end tanks
I have came up with a few possible solutions to the mlt hav problem
1 - limit the havs to 2 per squad with a team max of 5 ..period...
2- reduce the effectiveness of mlt havs - by removing a low slot from the sica and a high slot from the soma...simple reduce cpu & pg on mlt havs by 5% this would still make them viable to fit but would reduce their effectiveness enough to end the spam.
3- increase blubbery intelligence i.e. actually find a way to tell them that attacking shielded vehicles with weapons designed to destroy armour is wrong maby include an Anti shield starter fit with say a plasma cannon , maby give better indication of the damage your av wepon will do in the target info box i.e. actually give the damage youll do if you fire now and not the % ...
just some observations and ideas . discuss.

Honestly as a tanker i can say they are not OP they can be destroyed my only problem with how my (and other) tanks are is that they are to quick and need a speed reduction. An example, i'm shooting and enemy Gunnlogi and its a fair fight until his modules drop. now instead of fight to the end the minute they drop his Gunnlogi hits mach 9 speeds into the redline ALL the way back to his MCC. just because its too fast doesnt make it OP. all those tanks you're seeing are most likely Sica's & Soma's which against a truly well fit and thought out Madrugar or Gunnlogi (or even a truly skilled into AV fit) with moderate to great amounts of SP put into them is a free 200wp (or more) for the Madrugar or Gunnlogi

No to point 1, and no to point 2.
Point 3 is kind of arbitrary. You can't teach intelligence. They either have it or they don't. While I have shot swarms at glowing tanks I knew it would do nothing but at the same time a blaster tank was engaging him so I was hoping my added damage would help in the kill. I am a team player. I work for the benefit of the team and if a frenziedly tanker is attacking an enemy tank and I have swarms, well I'm just going to attack it as well. Because that is what team players do. They help out and do their best while doing it.
Also. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1607888#post1607888 New AV fit. If you can do it I implore you to use it. It works and best part is they can't see you coming if you are good. Killed a federation maddy earlier tonight with it, thinking he was so big and bad using it in a pub match. You can also use that fit against turrets and infantry. Drove one into a group of protostompers and ended their lives real quick.

You see them as Op I see it as fun hunting. Me and my wife hunt tankers half the time. When I am on my other toon we both run Adv Swarms and me Av and her Flux. With 3 Complex DMG mods. We have killed about 10 tanks in the past few games and about as many dropships. We both lock on with swarms and fire at the same time the first grouping put armor fitted ones to half armor or lower and shield ones get there shields knocked out. All that needs to be done is have two people you run with most of the time spec into ADV Swarms or even proto if you want to bring the hurt even more. This game is not as bad as most make it out. And as it stands the only thing that really needs work is speed bost and scouts and heavys the later two kinda have a place on the battle field but with the new combat and rail rifles they are easy pickings in the open. So yes lets get the Devs to fix more stuff that never will work right if it is left up to most and here is something that will blow yalls minds how about they take away large blasters from tanks and leave them with rails and missles. I think that would make it where grunts can do there thing with out being cut to peaces when they step out to kill tanks and will make the game way more even for all partys tankers will be anti tank/lav/DS. Lat the raging start but look at it like this Dust is the only game where tanks are anti grunt. |

Sarcasim? Dead serious. There was an SP threshold to pull off the the old super-brick-blaster fit so not every PUB was being ruined by them. In an odd way with everyone having access to the fun now the nerf calls are probably being somewhat mitigated. You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. Other than the well known tactics of the Islamic community, the kamikaze pilots of WWII significantly changed the course of the war - at least temporarily until it was countered with the atom bomb. It's easy to call them stupid, but they did it because it worked. |
