Agree with this wholeheartedly.
My thumb is killing me from pushing the stick so hard - Same setup but movement feels a tad slower and sprinting feels much slower. |

a) I haven't changed my fits. b) I use speed mods.
EDIT: Thanks Wolfman! Yesterday was my first time playing after the patch. I spoke with couple of my friends and they said they have noticed it also. It cannot be mass delusional hysteria, right? :D
I have similar problems when I use speed mods. My speed seems to be half of normal but if I cancel run and run again I go normal speed. But if I don't have speed mods on I typically don't have any problem.

I have noticied this as well. I thought it was just me tbh, so I didn't make a big deal about it but it does feel a bit situational. Sometimes, the sprint feels slower, sometimes it feels like what I am used to.
As someone stated, as soon as I take out and use my scanner, scan and immediately resume my sprint is when I usually notice it the most.

If you are holding the sprint button, then look down your sights... you naturally slow down. But when you stop looking down your sights you're supposed to resume your sprint speed.... but you don't.... you need to release and re-push your sprint button.

The numbers haven't changed but the movement is noticeably slower now than before.
since 1.7 update I have had 50% of matches played as if I am moving through water... I am getting MASSIVE lag spikes and my movement speed is way slower because of this... It is honestly getting frustrating and almost unbearable to play.
I tested this in a match and someone with a slower suit than me noticeably out ran me... Sometimes my walk seems faster than my sprint :/ |

yea, in that PC last night with you in it, I had some crazy effects going on... This game is becoming unplayable and PC is a psychological breaking point experience for me :/ on my screen, heavies with plates were out sprinting me...
ETA: by psychological breaking point test, I mean like... I feel like I am the guy in Clockwork Orange being forced to watch something I don't understand with sounds and stuff not matching to what I am seeing... This is getting crazy silly. |

There's been a few instances where I thought I was experiencing this. My Gallente Logistics (notably armor tanked) feels sluggish and there's a few instances where I will go into sprint, my stamina will decrease, but there is no perceived change in speed at all.
This might just be an optical illusion now that the camera "zoom" when sprinting is gone (which I always thought was kinda annoying anyway) but it definitely feels different.

Switch your weapon sometimes your skills aren't translating over for some reason. Having your scanner out and using it seems to aggravate the issue.
Yes I've noticed it specially on my Minmatar assault suit which is somewhat speedy with biotics maxed. |

But I only have one weapon...
Will have to try switching to equipment and back. Also crouching. Then it means it's a bug. Whatever it is, it's hella annoying!

I'm noticing my Scout + Comp. Kin Cat setup moving a lot slower, even though the numbers haven't changed.
Whenever I get hit too, I move slower, or my character starts to exit and re enter sprint. Which is just bullshit.

I-Shayz-I wrote:If you use armor plates the penalty is now correct.
In 1.6 if you used more than one plate the movement penalty would work like a reverse stacking penaltiy. Each movement penalty would be reduced the more plates you had. In other words the effectiveness of the movement penalty would be reduced for each additional module...if that makes sense.
for instance, stacking 4 complex plates on a gallente scout in 1.6: 6.96 sprint speed. Try it in 1.7: 6.5ish sprint speed.
It's an additional balance for armor vs shields that makes stacking a ton of them not as worth it as it was in 1.6. Too many and you're as slow as a heavy. ______________________________________________________
Also, sometimes you glitch into the ground a bit and your sprint will feel slow. Crouch, then sprint again and it will return back to normal. This is new for 1.7
Jumping aside, theres this weird "collision" glitch that happens on occasion when I try sprinting. Ill attempt to sprint and ill go even slower then walking. its very strange......

Standard CCP... changing one thing changes another- movement speed has definately changed, I feel sluggish even though I am using the same suits.

I actually haven't noticed any speed difference on my Gallente scout with complex KinCat fitting, which I play 99.9% of the time.
However: I've noticed two things that may be related.
- I don't know the map names - sorry - but on one of the older A, B, C, D maps, where the objectives make up a square when seen on the map, there is a largish structure that has slanted sides. There are two of them in this map, and they cover objective C and D. On the roof of those, running seems to be at half speed, for some reason. It's been like that for at least a couple of builds.
- Sometimes, if I crouch while hacking a vehicle, and then strafe sideways while I'm hacking, I suddenly start moving at crazy speeds. Fast enough that I usually move away from the vehicle before I can react and have the hack interrupted.

I've noticed this too. The only solution seems to be to crouch and then begin sprinting again. Still waiting for a reply from the devs, but this is an issue I've had with my logi's and scouts. Regardless of equipment used or weapons used it still happens consistently enough to aggravate my gameplay. Wether we are sinking into the ground or the terrain is reaching and grabbing again I don't know. I do know that this happens on bare terrain as well as 'flat' surfaces like roads and concrete installations.
Besides getting magically 'slowed' my characters look and feel more sluggish than before. I took all the armor off and tested again and still had the same sluggish feeling. I don't know if the in game speeds were changed but some programmer kept the numbers as still consistent or if the visual translation is just suffering from slowed servers - I am really not qualified to speak to the possible causes, only on the problems I'm experiencing. |
