You have just shown you know fk all about pushing a car to the limit and endurance.
You are the dumb fk, your view is that of people who don't know anything about cars. I'll bet you can't even drive.

In fact I'll make it real simple.
Formula 1 - largely based around getting the most acceleration and speed between corners and the perfect apex.
NASCAR - pushing the car to the very brink of losing control to gain the most speed possible at all times.
Both are very similar because its all about endurance and having a good mech/tech team, the driver puts his trust in them to tune the car to the course, one small mistake and the car won't reach its full potential when being driven.
So as you see theres more to racing than just going round in circles or racing on the same track for the 30th time, it takes alot of concentration and a good relationship with your team as well, one small lapse in judgement can get you, other drivers and spectators killed.

Its driving in circles no matter how you look at it. Dumbass redneck trash sport.
You want REAL driving skill? Check out Japanese Touge racing - Namely a guy called Keiichi Tsuchiya. THAT is skill.
Granted I'm sure the engineering feats in Nascar are interesting. It is STILL driving in circles.
And I can drive though I dont claim to be anything special as im more into motorbikes. I am merely commenting that Nascar is boring as ****. Besides the thumbs up tell me the world agrees. |

What do you have, about four thumbs up total now? That may be a pretty huge percentage of our playerbase here in Dust, but I think it's a pretty small sampling when it comes to the world. You didn't just comment on the boring nature of Nascar. You also used a ridiculous (albiet funny and somewhat warranted in some areas of my great country) stereotype to describe Nascar.
I'm honestly not even sure why you hold up Japanese "touge" racing as a beacon of driving "skill" in comparison to "dumbass redneck trash sport" Nascar. A casual searching of YouTube shows many highlight videos of this high energy "touge" racing. One video shows a tuned graduation present for daddy's girl drifting around a corner. The next highlights a Japanese kid drifting around a metal barrel. Then we have a video featuring the great Keiichi Tsuchiya with Top Gear driver Ollie Marriage drifting... around corners. Also there is another metal barrel to be drifted around in that video.
So, in conclusion. I can sum up your argument for "touge" driving being better than Nascar in this way. "Hur dur, Nascar is just driving in circles... Derp, "touge" driving is skillful "sliding" in circles... no need for finely tuned multimillion dollar machines, just supercharge you daughter's 99 Celica and proceed to lose traction on circles, crescents, ellipses..."

Hopefully speed gets reduced or webifiers get added with a significant movement penalty. |

I should say that I am not a fan of Nascar. I just thought your argument against Nascar was ironic considering your love of racing that involves circles. I personally don't like racing in general. All of it seems rather monotonous to me. |

That's why Formula 1 world champions have switched over to Nascar and call it the "real" drivers race.
If you want to look in awe at the technology of a couple race teams then f1 is for you.
If you like racing and action Nascar is for you.
As for the people saying its boring ill let an F1 driver talk.

GÇ£People are watching. Over the last few years when I came over, people started paying attention to how I ran and I think a lot of people got hooked on it. But yes you are right.
In fact, NASCAR is beneficial to the car industry. They are constantly trying to improve their cars, and new improvements often carry over to the commercial sector.

Why do people always bring up F1?
Besides like I said I'm more into circuit racing and the more illegal street type racing. Touge is not merely "Drifting around in circles", it is navigating the treacherous roads around Japan's twisty windy mountain roads whilst being marked on style.
Nascar may well be this that and the other, it is STILL boring to watch as it is just cars going around an oval over and over again.
Rally car racing, now that is both good action to watch AND requires a high level of skill at driving. Actually rally is probably the best out of all motorsport racing from the spectators point of view. |

I think Mario Andretti started in Nascar before going to F1 (via Indycar). So it's not really a case of an F1 champion going to Nascar. The other Andretti was a total failure in F1.
Kimi had fallen out with Ferrari, and when he left was paid something like $40m not to race for a rival team. So he was at a loose end for a couple of years and dabbled in rally and Nascar, with little success. Still, you're right, he wasn't a has been or a never been, so he's an exception to the rule |
