"Doooaaaaa awesome idea Cletus" That's why Formula 1 world champions have switched over to Nascar and call it the "real" drivers race. If you want to look in awe at the technology of a couple race teams then f1 is for you. If you like racing and action Nascar is for you. As for the people saying its boring ill let an F1 driver talk. Quote:GÇ£The series is a lot higher than people think it is. I think people here are underrated at our level against worldwide. I think maybe if you would get the numbers of how many people internationally are watching these [NASCAR] races not only in America but in Europe and Asia, you would shock yourself. I think they are pretty amazing.
GÇ£People in F1 are very selfish GÇô they think there is nothing better out there. You look from technology-wise, there's not, but [regarding] the actual racing, [NASCAR] is exciting. It's exciting to watch; it's exciting to be here. When you hear about ovals and sometimes you watch them, the first time you watch it by yourself, 'oh yeah, it's a circle', but if you come and actually see how fast we're going in real life, they go, 'oh yeah, that's a lot faster than people think it is'.
GÇ£People are watching. Over the last few years when I came over, people started paying attention to how I ran and I think a lot of people got hooked on it. I still receive e-mails from people from F1 [saying], 'good luck in the race, great qualifying'. It's like, 'oh, you're paying attention'. That is surprising.GÇ¥ Juan Pablo Montoya Nascar only gets the F1 has beens and never beens, like Montoya. |

Oh and you will see Montoya rejoin the indycar series in 2014 because he was a has been right? Don't get me wrong, Nascar is a bigger deal than Indycar, as the Montoya situation suggests.
I think Mario Andretti started in Nascar before going to F1 (via Indycar). So it's not really a case of an F1 champion going to Nascar. The other Andretti was a total failure in F1.
Kimi had fallen out with Ferrari, and when he left was paid something like $40m not to race for a rival team. So he was at a loose end for a couple of years and dabbled in rally and Nascar, with little success. Still, you're right, he wasn't a has been or a never been, so he's an exception to the rule |
