It's not a crutch. I don't think anything should be changed AV wise until the speed boost on tanks are fixed.
I don't mind the damage nerf to swarms since they nerfed the armor for tanks. That was needed. However,I don't like the nerf to the lock on distance. At least at the extreme that was done. I think a range of 175m (basic) - 225m (proto) would be a viable solution. I would even be happy with a skill set to increase lock on distance.
Another option could be an ability, or variation of swarm, to turn lock-on OFF and give the weapon a splash damage radius of a forge gun.

even a pre patch militia armor tank could be fitted to survive 5 volley from a swarm with 3 damage mods. that 15seconds of continous uninterrupted shooting from a single guy.
comments like yours only highlight biased bad tank pilots. |

cut the active damage mod and active resistance mods effectiveness in half.
maybe reduce the cooldown time a little on all variants.
tanks dont have hardly any slots now they got an overall buff in total hp though.
they severely lack pg and cpu for any of it.
i was testing the new tanks out. the large missile turret is pretty much an anti tank tank weapon now. if i had a guy with mlt swarms following me around i could just fire my 12 missiles at a tank and watch the swarm finish them off.
turret rotation speed on all large turret types also seems rather slow.
and i cant hardly turn while moving up a hill or on any type of ramp type thing.
im happy for the buffs the tanks got they feel alot better now. alot less paper thin.
the reps are passive now and the basic heavy rep module reps at 100hp/s.
i do like the changes.
but the new effective anti tank weapons are probably going to be a large railgun or missile turret for a while.
all i can say is ambush is not a good place for infantry right now.
some of these tank players have been running around destroying things in ambush.
if swarms got their damage brought back to 330 per hit. i can see some of these tanks going back to their old tactics.
proto packed av nades seem to still be deadly though.
maybe with this new reckless attitude that some of these tankers have gotten so far could quickly get hit upside the head through better coordinated av tactics. av just cant do what it used to do. relentlessly pummel and chase a vehicle for ever until it dies.
it looks like they have to set traps now.
i dont see them entirely as throw away tanks.
i like the price reduction it hurts my big wallet less but id say i hurt my new wallet even more because if the seemingly cheap price. because i rarely took out tanks during matches now.
id say tank vs tank seems more balanced now. but im ok with getting aved now. my only hatred with av was with av nades.
i thought everything else was fine. the tanks getting an averall hp buff and nerf in slots pg/cpu turret rotation speed and given ammo are probably just the "balancing" features.
all i have to say is blaster turrets feel weak vs vehicle strong vs infantry.
and the other 2 turrets seems to be strong vs vehicles weak vs infantry. |

A sica/soma surviving 3 complex dmg modded proto swarms which does 3k per volley

thats obvious, knowing ccp that will get nerfed instead of dealing with tanks, sad when suicide free lavs or cheap ones is the only effective way to take out tanks....But their so cheap they call in another so you spend the whole match putting bombs on your car and driving around |
