does anyone have a bias opinion anymore? Let me start off by saying I have proto swarm launchers, heavies, commando, forge gun, and AV Grenades. I agree the cost of tanks vs the way they were able to be taken out before was ridiculous, insurance on tanks would be nice(like in eve). I bet most good tankers wouldn't complain if they could make a full Vayu fit for 300-400k before this build.
So many things can be said on this topic but swarms were kind of ridiculous when they changed the lock time, it wasnt necessary. They were fine with 5 in a clip and a longer lock time. How many years in the future is this game based? and your vehicle can't warn you it's being locked? That would say "red light! im getting locked I'd better get to cover!"
Forge guns, Over nerfed. Direct damage nerf not necessary, splash damage I don't mind. You have to be a good shot to direct shot infantry and anyone before could pick up a militia forge gun and shoot the ground. I challenge non heavies to get direct hits on infantry with the forge.
Train to heavy.... your vulnerable as all hell with armor plates on now. As if the scrambler rifle didn't rip through your armor fast enough, add the rail / combat rifle to the mix, constant tanks, slow a heavy down, give him a nerfed forge gun, got the makings of a easy target. Heavies shouldn't even get a stacking penalty on plates. THEIR HEAVIES! Take a body builder(heavy suit) throw 200lb weight on his shoulders do you think he would have as hard of a time carrying it as a 80lb etheopian(scout suit) same goes for medium suit.
What it all boils down to is too many changes at once. At least with the old build tanks were expensive and would separate the boys from the men. Now that viable tanks can be made at a cheap cost, why wouldn't you call in another one? You die in a proto commando or logi suit....thats 200k+ isk die again 400, meanwhile tank dies twice 120k.
All of us that are complaining about this arent thinking about the big picture......what about Joe Smoe who just downloaded a new game called dust that looks cool and is about to play it for the first time. All infantry is getting pushed around by constant |

Ld Collins wrote:I have no sympathy for swarm users you've got a free ride with invisible swarms and extreme range. Dog fights will now be more prevalent since dropships can fly without annoying missiles that are almost impossible to avoid. With 1.7 we can expect to see 3 battles going at once battles in the sky battles in tanks and battles in boots the last few games I've played have been chaotic. You want to blow up stuff blow up lavs supply depots tanks and installations.
p.s. your a bad dropship pilot if you cant avoid swarms. Dropships have always been a pain to shoot down with swarms more, so a deterrent that's what forge guns were for, and Indeed was annoying to have to bug out after every volley but tbh do you think an Apache helicopter could take multiple volleys from swarm launchers? Flares/counter measures would have been ideal. |

Good troll post, obviously you can take down tanks with coordinated AV. I don't mind that at all, After you take down the tank you go to a supply to change out of AV, kill some people defending an objective.....oh look tanks back.....2 tanks now, no wait theirs another at C!! Tanks are too cheap their all basically throw away tanks, just imagine what would happen if you could buy a full proto everything suit for 40k

Quote:Imagine if we had proto tanks so you could make a full proto everything fitting. I fear the day prototype tanks are released against our nerfed AV gear, but hey backwards development is the thing to do.
Step 1: Make standard tanks Step 2: Release prototype AV equipment Step 3: Nerf AV equipment because prototype kills standard and militia too easy Step 4: Nerf AV equipment again range and damage. Militia tanks are still 3 shotted with a forge gun Step 5: Buff tanks Step 6: Release prototype tanks for a cheap cost Step 7: Watch increase in forum activity Step 8: Success! Tankers complaint ratio went down |

It's not that hard.
Get in LAV Find tank Throw 3 AV grenades Fire 1 volley of swarms.
Tank is finished. Killed three in one match that way. Take LAV throw 5 remotes at 1500 damage each... Drive LAV into tank.
thats obvious, knowing ccp that will get nerfed instead of dealing with tanks, sad when suicide free lavs or cheap ones is the only effective way to take out tanks....But their so cheap they call in another so you spend the whole match putting bombs on your car and driving around |
