When SCRs, ASCRs, and Plasma Rifles are twice as effective in CQC, Proto Med Frames can tank one shot of my Proto Shotgun, its ridiculous, even ADV Meds can do it.
And this is with an Enhanced Damage Modifier.
Only Heavies should be able to do that.

Shot guns need a damage buff as far as content goes. They need to be the bane of everyone's existence in CQC. You should be dead before you realized what happened if you turn the corner into a SG...
Nova knives, SGs, and HMGs have become a flippin' joke. They aren't even hard to use, they simply just don't work. They are "freebie kills" for all who go against them. |

Get a complex and use the specialist, or opt for the Breach.
If it could one shot you without any work it would be OP.

funny enough yesterday me being a scout, i got shotgunner on my back at 6 mts, he fired, but i didnt die, i turned and killed the shotgunner, a medium frame with a smg, i dont know if that just speaks volumes of the shotgun, or it is just so ironically fulfilling.
Me and my inner demons stopped fighting......We are on the same side now...

Its not like it would require 0 work from a simple damage buff, you'd still have to flank, get in position, and strafe to dodge rounds while trying to make every shot count.
The Shotgun is laughable as is.
The TAR is a more reliable CQC weapon.

It's a weapon far outclassed by the likes of the AR/ScR and even possibly the SMG/SP.
I'm not saying it should OHK everything at STD but it should be able to deal high damage at high levels.
It has too many other restraints that would prevent it from being OP: extremely short range, low ROF, long reload. Hard to OP the shotgun when your enemy can just walk backwards and you have nothing you can do. |

Mines at pro 4 , an 9/10 times lag effects what your doing ive shot a guy, staffed for the second shot then he dies, or he doesn't die an his stupid rifle kills me before the rof can let me shoot a second shot, or he hops backwards once an I'm out of range, sofriggenlame!
I skilled proficiency to shoot faster an it makes no difference, it's gotten me so mad that I switched almost all my fits to dual proto smg s with flux nades, an vola, 20 kill games again.
I'm a scout so fitting proto shot guns is tuff, but you gotta really get close, use shield dropping weapons from behind like a sc pistol or a flux then hit em, a sg does about 400 each shot, I've tested it , but you gotta be mad close, so with med frames stacking almost 1000 HP you gotta remove them shields 90% of the time first which ruins what a sg should do, should be 1000 damage at 5-8 m regardless of what anyone thinks , it's a future cqc weapon ment to ohk anythings else is unrealistic.
It shouldn't take steps to sg kill, step 1 remove shields, step 2 get the shot before the ttk of a op rifle |

There's nothing wrong with the shorty damage, I have suits with 700HP advanced that get killed in one shot, so if anything now the hit detection is better they really need to be NERFED TO HELL

The problem isn't the damage overall, it's the damage at proto.
STD Shotgun Vs. STD Med Frame: OHK
ADV Shotgun vs. ADV Med Frame: OHK (occasionally 2)
PRO Shotgun vs. PRO Med Frame: 2-3HK (4 on occasion, depends on the range of target and overall tank)
Maxed out, PRO shotgun deals around 500 damage. (This means FULL spread on target)
How many PRO's do you know that run under 500 eHP? If you engage outside of 5m, it will very likely take 2-3 shots to kill a standard Protobear.

None,. I use a Duvolle on my Mk.0 now. And do 100% better.

It's usually 3 or if he is tanked 4.
Logis are much harder since they move faster and have about the same ehp as a heavy.

I Use the creo/ duvolle an I hit them in the back, usually twice before they turn an once in the face an the only thing that saves me is them being slow, caldari s are harder than heavies, minmatar an amar usually drop fast, but smg with a flux an a flank seems much more dependable |

Fluxed a Gallente Logi (Proto) to take out his Nanohives, succesful hit, he loses his shields, and his rep hives, so I jump out hit him with my Proto Shotgun (+1 Enhanced Damage Mod) at 5m and he guns me down and escapes with 234 Armour.

I can't seem to hurt anyone that moving anymore with my shotgun. Point blank shot and it seems to be getting worse and worse :( I loved that gun. But I just can't use it anymore |

I think nerfing the damage that auto weapons do (scr, ar, smg) would buff the sg. They need the nerf to compensate for 1.6 hd fix anyways
