Though I wouldn't get too comfortable with it, it's getting a serious range nerf in 1.7 So if you want a good TAR you'll have to stick with the Scrambler Rifle. The standard rail rifle is going to be a lot like the TAR but with a much longer range, higher damage, a slight spool up prior to shooting, and a slower RoF. Fun > Realism

I use it on my logi for close sniper support, its clearly designed purely for doing high damage killing at range so I stack 3 complex damage mods with it, full plates, scanner, repair tool, uplinks and an SMG as I'm amarr logi. I believe that if your not stacking damage mods with it then you are doing it wrong. Level 1 forum warrior. Minmatar and Gallente fw. I sold my wife and kids to the Amarr for isk, its a valid tactic.

I find the TAR is great to keep me from getting too aggressive like i would be if I had a assault rifle equipped. It forces me to stay at range and I get the breather of setting up links and nanohives. I think if you want to be a really good logi medium range weapons will help you maintain your role and not get you sucked into fighting like assaults and heavies do.
