I mean come on man.................come the **** on man ................why are you nerfing the forge gun....AGAIN. I am sick and tired of the god damn babies that complain about this awesome ******* weapon. Be like the rest of the dust punks and use your assault rifle. Why the hell you want to mess with the forge gun. This is rediculous, these vehicle people run these ambush and skirm not even using the god damn tank right. Most of these fags just stay there and try to kill me, an anti vehicle pro, instead of just backing up and regenerating.
You can't just keep nerfing the forge gun like that. I SWEAR TO ******* GOD, if the forge gun gets nerfed one more time i will leave if i don't get a respec. I will be a ******* proto assault ***** like the fags we have here and get easy kills.

Calm down on the extreme ellipses. As someone who pretty much only uses Forge Guns, I find it to actually be reasonable nerf, nothing to really get all up worked up about. |

no, it is terrible. I use the proto charge forge gun and i just want to puke. Ya i can easily kill units with it but its charge rate is so slow. I mean wow, i don't even want the gatsun forge gun anymore.

Honestly, Im a scout and I personally think the forge gun shouldnt have even close to the damage of a rail gun, via installation or on the main gun of a tank. Even with a charge time and limited ammo. If the ammo of the rail gun tanks arent sizable, I kinda expect more of a nerf with how much damage your forgers do.
Doubt it will happen but still.
Though with the vehicle point respec I will likely drop from logilav's and into shield tanks.

The Dev's nerf stuff, that's what they do. There is a small chance that the changes won't end up being as bad as they are on paper. It's hard giving them the benefit of the doubt after past disasters. For example Uprising 1.0 and the obliteration of Mass Drivers and HMGs at the time. Skepticism is a good thing to hold onto. Just try tempering it with some game play. Even if it is likely the Dev's screwed up again.

They will have around 18-30k eHP in short bursts with long cooldowns.
I'd consider 18-30k eHP to be a huge buff.

Message from Godin: With level 5 skills, at the highest, you can only get 15.8k eHP. but that's only for a good 40 seconds or so (can't remmber the active time of the enhanced hardeners off the top of my head w/e level 5 skills), so although there is a buff, it comes from active tanking your HAV. Still, it ain't bad yo. You can still blap. You can still shoot a stray pubic hair off a fly at 300m if you aim right.
The essential character, use, and relative power of the FG is pretty much unaffected.

They couldn't nerf the damage too much otherwise you wouldn't be able to OHK infantry. Charge up nerf or 2HK against hp tanked infantry such as heavys and some logis.
I have been subject to the nerf bat several times since 1.0, TAC AR, Calogi, shields, and now shields again. You have to step back and realize that what you were using was OP and adapt to the change. I don't use the TAC AR anymore because the normal AR is cheaper, and has seen buffs ever since 1.0 (which is pretty stupid IMO)
TL;DR Weaker tanks = Weaker AV otherwise tanks no longer exist, your AV no longer have a purpose

Forge guns got balanced to fit into the new vehicle system? Approved. The biggest change was to the forge guns that did way more damage than rail guns; now they only do slightly more damage than rail guns. Unless they nerf the range they are still going to be better than swarms. This is actually hilarious though, I can see the Devs in the meeting room now:
"AVers are mad because their weapons got changed to fit our new idea of vehicle combat and vehicle people are mad cause they are losing slots in anticipation of Advanced and Prototype hulls."

30k EHP tanks? id like to see some of these OP fits you've magically made. If you were to outright brick tank without a repper you could probably pull off something along the lines of 14-16k EHP. If you want it to be a viable platform the strongest of vehicles wont have more than 10k ehp so as to be able to fit a repair module also. In 1.6 with max skills you can squeeze out 20k ehp but you wont come close to that in 1.7
I don't even feel the forge gun was nerfed, merely rebalanced. Swarms on the other hand did get a range nerf while also having there damage rebalanced. |
