Message from Godin: With level 5 skills, at the highest, you can only get 15.8k eHP. but that's only for a good 40 seconds or so (can't remmber the active time of the enhanced hardeners off the top of my head w/e level 5 skills), so although there is a buff, it comes from active tanking your HAV. Iv lost all my variants in blasters and modules,my proto tanks 3 times, two low slots, my active repper, my pg skill, and hp. So don't even let me catch you complaining about 100 damage and half a second charge time.

In terms of DPS, the 0.5s addition was the biggest part of the nerf.
Still, it ain't bad yo. You can still blap. You can still shoot a stray pubic hair off a fly at 300m if you aim right.
The essential character, use, and relative power of the FG is pretty much unaffected.

They couldn't nerf the damage too much otherwise you wouldn't be able to OHK infantry. Charge up nerf or 2HK against hp tanked infantry such as heavys and some logis.
I have been subject to the nerf bat several times since 1.0, TAC AR, Calogi, shields, and now shields again. You have to step back and realize that what you were using was OP and adapt to the change. I don't use the TAC AR anymore because the normal AR is cheaper, and has seen buffs ever since 1.0 (which is pretty stupid IMO)
TL;DR Weaker tanks = Weaker AV otherwise tanks no longer exist, your AV no longer have a purpose

Forge guns got balanced to fit into the new vehicle system? Approved. The biggest change was to the forge guns that did way more damage than rail guns; now they only do slightly more damage than rail guns. Unless they nerf the range they are still going to be better than swarms. This is actually hilarious though, I can see the Devs in the meeting room now:
"AVers are mad because their weapons got changed to fit our new idea of vehicle combat and vehicle people are mad cause they are losing slots in anticipation of Advanced and Prototype hulls."

30k EHP tanks? id like to see some of these OP fits you've magically made. If you were to outright brick tank without a repper you could probably pull off something along the lines of 14-16k EHP. If you want it to be a viable platform the strongest of vehicles wont have more than 10k ehp so as to be able to fit a repair module also. In 1.6 with max skills you can squeeze out 20k ehp but you wont come close to that in 1.7
I don't even feel the forge gun was nerfed, merely rebalanced. Swarms on the other hand did get a range nerf while also having there damage rebalanced. |

Disturbingly Bored's response at #34 is on target. That is if these changes actually match up what is happening to vehicles. Which is a question none of us can answer yet.
