When I call in a sica, equal to a gunloggi in 1.7 without resist, a current advanced assault forge can two shot it with ease. Vehicles often "hang" on the bolas waiting to be dropped. This is absolute candy for an assault forge gun who can then kill it before it reaches the ground. The range is also a bit too long as well as a forge gun on top of home point can reach the back of the adjacent redzones. This needs to be looked at as if the pilot is not in the vehicle there is no way we can activate that wave of opportunity and are totally defenseless.
So about those vehicle locks...

Is it balanced to not even let me get in my vehicle before it gets destroyed in under 4 seconds? The average time from stationary bolas to the time I board is around 4 seconds. Plus all my tank comes from my shield which would be totally gone in one shot.

DAU Assault forge deals almost 2000 damage with prof 3 and two damage mods. Ishukone Assault forge deals roughly 2250 damage. This is every 1.875 seconds. This strips all of the shields of of a gunloggi and eats very deep into the armor of a Madrugar. Definitely needs to be adressed

No it is ok because that tanker is risking a boat load if ISK to have that capability. Also tanks and their possitions on the map can be easily determined and proper action can be taken accordingly.

You can make a very cheap railgun fit.
A good Forge fit is not cheap either. Especially considering how easily it can get roflstomped by infantry.
A forge is just as easy to locate, and their camping spots are just as well known.
If the render fixes they promised come about, then it will be very simple to counter a FG up high, because rail guns will actually work at range.

If you call in a bolas in front of a FG, then yes, you deserve to lose your vehicle.
Relocate, and call it in somewhere else.

Forge Guns will remain untouched as they (spare for the Assault variant) are the closet things to "balanced" underneath the Amarrian Commando suit.
For future reference, **** your tanks. You clearly don't have experience in the tanks of beta, otherwise you wouldn't ***** about them when the fact that rails are getting a hellish buff that far outweighs the Forge Gun's current state.

If you call in a bolas in front of a FG, then yes, you deserve to lose your vehicle. Relocate, and call it in somewhere else. I always call my possessions in behind cover. Whether or not Ivan decides to listen is a mystery.

I literally had to almost drive over someone the other day in my rail tank before I saw then. They died from my friendlies supporting my tank but not before putting three swarms into my shields.
I rather like the large railguns but until the rendering gets fixed, infantry has the advantage in this case.

Railgun range = 600m.
In no way does the forge shoot farther.
Damage:
FG w prof 5 and 2x CDM = 2286
Compressed particle cannon does 2274 with one damage mod and maxed turret skills.
So the damage race is pretty close. So considering that the railgun has double the range, is mounted on a vehicle, and has much more ammo than the fatty is pretty fair.

No need for the drama.
Tanks will still be killable, just instead of limp wristed scrubs with swarms and AV nades, it will now require the fat suit and a forge.
Giving the heavy an actual job to do is a step in the right direction for everyone who wants an interesting game instead of medium frames everywhere.
Bad AV will always need to work together to take down a good tanker. Not because tanks are OP, but because people don't seem to consider that good tankers have lots of experience fighting AV, but most AV has never even seen a good tanker. I don't tank without seeing proto swarms and AV, all game. SO I know how to fight it, and how to escape.
Bad tankers will always get solo'd as long as the person attacking them is not an idiot. Unfortunately, OP AV made far too many players lazy when it comes to AV.

No they just want it to be solo EZ-mode taking down multi million ISK/SP pices of equipment with two shots form 3 or 4 hundred meters away from an elivated position and a partially or mostly covered target that is moving and about the size of an ant, in a fitting that cost one tenth the price, an that is only if you can actually locate the target at those distances before he gets his two shot off.
These people dont have any concept of balance because it doesn't serve their interest, or they have never spent any real time in a tank and are just talking out their ***, because they wnan EZ-solo-tank-mode.

Proto fluxes and one forge shot for any shield tank.
Proto AV's and a forge shot for every armor tank.
Hurray for difficulty.
In the next patch, with AV grenades getting a nerf, there may be some hope for armor tanks, but shield tankers are f'd. They just don't know it yet because they think the eHP numbers are going to matter.
Could the forge use a nerf? Maybe, but lets wait and see what happens in the next patch before we go calling for one.

Just wait until my tank gets a Scarmbler large turret for infantry, and a Beam Laser for anti tanks.

Large rail 600 meters. FG 300 meters. If you think a FG out ranges a large rail, please tell me what drugs you are on cause I want some so my HMG out ranges an AR Targets for FG render at 300m. If rendering was fixed you'd have a point but since you obviously do not use a tank you look like an idiot claiming we can easily shoot something that isn't there.

That is an issue with rendering, not with the forge.
Besides, the rail can still blap a chevron at 599, while a forge cannot.

The AFG DPS should be swapped with the Standard Variant & the Projectile Size should be swapped with Rail Turrets. This was my only real issue with Forges. Considering the Reps on Armor will be both "Fixed" & completely altered.....the DPS may prove overwhelming to all Vehicles in 1.7. Rep Tools need a Vehicle/Installation Rep Buff tbh, & WP for "Spidering".
We'll see how it all plays out in 1.7.......
Personally I want to be "Killable", as we currently are (Especially Shield Tanks.....), but not 2HKOable..... What's the point of spawning a High DPS Giant Hitbox vs a "Safe" Hurtbox if we cannot move past the Mole Hill near the Redline??? The current Price-Point "Pigeonholes" Tanks & Dropships into a conundrum..... It's either be GOD & never die or be dead & go broke every single Match. This is the KEY ISSUE..... |

Resorting to personal attacks since logic wont work eh? NEWSFLASH! RENDERING IS FIXED IN 1.7! If it works as well as the hit detection fix you have NOTHING to worry about and will be able to redline rail as much as you want.
How to make a Heavy Laser: 1.Take laser 2.Make it REALLY BIG 3.Give it to the heavy sobbing quietly in the corner.
