Tweak: straight projectile trajectory, fast projectile speed and projectile damage falloff over distance. Keep one round clip and reload speed as is.
Then players would maybe start using it in a competitive environment such as planetary conquest.
Trolling pub matches with this weapon only proves that the weapon is good vs noobs.
Many other games do have balanced RPG weapons. Dust has the worst RPG in any game made. Period.

It's currently PERFECT against infantry, but seeing it's a AV weapon also it needs a buff. With low range, drop, and slow projectile speed it you would expect it to have the highest AV damage yet it is the lowest. It's direct damage needs a 50% to 100% buff with either 25% more velocity or decrease in drop. That would not affect infantry engagements much while making it a decent AV in it's intended situation (close range high damage).

It could use a slight splash radius increase but other than that I agree. Weapon is fine.
Its not meant to be av, it just hits hard enough to be viable against light armor.

You miss the point that the weapon is in no need of fixing, it performs perfectly
It will be at a level playing field when AR/SR are brought into line (maybe never)
As a suppression/area denial weapon it is ideal and CQC v infantry it's awesome
AV is fine as long as you have back-up
..........
If you still think it needs buffing then go to those threads and promote it, this thread is against buff
also I think an RPG is unnecessary in Dust514 |

Hitting snipers from 200m is hitting a stationary target. Being able to hit anything else is the direct result of a) incompetence on the part of the target and/or b) a ridiculous amount of luck. Does that mean we have to ignore moving targets?
Why should the target be incompetent? If he is looking at at PLC-user maaaaybe, it is funny how many people think they can still shoot you before they get a PLC in the face, I find these the easy kills, then again this can be said about every weapon.
Most of the times they shouldn't have seen you firing it. Flank them, hit them from the side (lead your target, drop the 'luck'). Corner-shots,.... This isn't a lets-stand-in-front-of-eachother-and-do-a-standoff-shootout-game.

The only thing I can ask for for the PLC is a slight speed increase to the shot. It's a tad ridiculous that in the time it takes the projectile to travel 50 meters, you can run up to and melee the target to death. |

And just how many kills can you pull in a game when running primarily with the plasma cannon RKKR? Can you go 20/5 with it in a battle? You can go 20/5 with every other weapon if you have the skills to do so. This is considered an average game for non-scout players. If plasma cannon players can consistently post this kind of success in a match with their weapon of choice then I will retract all my statments about the PLC sucking.
From my experience though I rarely see a cannoneer (yep your cannoneers now) go positive in a match let also post up an average game (see above criteria) from a kills point of view. Sure they may do well if they spam grenades or do a great job with the side arm but not because of the plasma cannon and their skill with it.
For that matter how about AV? The plasma cannon is an AV weapon (read the weapon's description) but how often are you able to take down a tank with one? Forge vs PLC which is better against tanks or infantry?
I am willing to bend that the plasma cannon is good but only if you can demonstrate it in battle, something I have yet to see done.

I'm a logi, I focus on helping my team out in the first place or holding a spot but my PLC-kills are equal to my AR-kills. Before you make a comeback and say I have nothing to say about #kills because I run logi: I even can manage to come out on top in ambush if I focus on killing, but hey I don't want to be called an assault-logo now, do I?
No sidearm, grenade spam is gayyy I only use is at a last resort, who the hell equips a PLC if they are going to grenade spam. Oooh it's funny that PLC can't kill with nades but that you don't count grenade kills in your average game for non-scout players.
But sure I can get it when people are just using a weapon for FUN that they can't go positive, then again how many people of negative with their ARs? **** guys, the AR is useless!

I've taken down several tanks, but are you saying the PLC has to be overpowered so everybody can complain their HAVs get destroyed by one PLC hit? Taking out a tank is no solo-effort.
Maybe you have the join the PLC-channel and hop into a game with them because honestly you are not going to believe anything of what we say while making misinformed assumptions. |

I regularly finish with games 20/5 or better but regardless of that the PLC is not intended to top killboard, It should be used to hold back enemy advances and assist teammates
open terrain can be a problem, or just having a bad game I will do worse
but I have took out some really good players, and contributed vitally to my squads winning games consistently
and Mobius Kaethis , I will meet you in game I'll send mail later this evening

I still dont agree with this.
Plasma cannon does not have a unique role which it is best of. - Mass driver better at slaying infantry in confined spaces. - Forge gun better at slaying vehicles at all ranges (including confined spaces).. - Swarm launcher (currently in 1.6) better at slaying vehicles at all ranges (including confined spaces).
Btw, when do you find a vehicle in a confined space?? Must be a moron driving it then.

20/5 is the "average player's" end-of-game score in what game mode? Certainly not Ambush, or else it'd only take 4 of them on a team to win.
Unless the other team has a good number of "average players."
There must be some poor SOB on the other team going 0/45 for 20/5 to be the "average player's" score. |
