They CAN. But this sacrifices a lot from the suit and the best part it only affects sprinting speed.

1200 HP isn't really BAD, its just not regular heavy HP.

lol sure a heavy can run fast if they stack up on kinetics, but 1vs1 speed heavy vs armor heavy, armor heavy will win in the end.
and the way the game is right now, adding kinetics just makes you die even faster without those armor plates. AR's will still get you in the end.

still have to find a heavy that equips that on the battlefield. though i have encountered the speed heavy in PC battles, my armor heavy wins against them 1vs1.

I wonder how fast the Minmatar Heavy will be able to run, I hope it gets a bonus to sprint speed per level but with a normal slow Heavysuit Strafe speed. That would be terrifying. |

I would like to point out. That I do this and you cant sprint that long. You need a green battery and sprinting at 6.70 is well worth losing .30 so you can sprint another 5 seconds and recharge is faster.
Good thing Dust514 is free. I would have returned it along time ago.

You might be forgetting the 5% speed bonus from biotics. It bumps up Gal Assault to 7.4 m/s, Gal Scout to 8.01 (or something like that) m/s.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Probably closer to 7.8 with a Light Weapon or Sidearm equipped. 1200 HP with a Proficiency 5 AR isn't exactly gimped. And being in a Fatsuit will always keep a Logi on your 6:00 ( Unless he's a dumb Logi that won't help in the firefight when facing >3 reds.)

I think what makes this very impressive is that a proto heavy loaded with complex kincats is hitting sprint speeds comparable to medium frame suits. With skills factored, it's still less, but it's also still 1200 EHP with ~7.2 m/s sprint speed.
Any bricktank medium frame suit will probably cap at ~900-1000 EHP (the latter is still quite a lot for a medframe, IMO), and be brought down to be of similar- or possibly even slower- sprint speed.
The fact that a gk0 GalScout loaded with kincats can hit a little over 11 m/s isn't really impressive in that light. Sure, it's Sonic the Hedgehog fast, but Scouts are expected to outmaneuver all the things. A heavy that does 7.2 m/s sprint is a very surprising thing to find, and also requires a new approach to fight- it's more difficult to outmaneuver an opponent who can sprint as fast as you can, and has 25-100% the EHP you do. |

what I dont understand is why heavy's never focus on their shield regen
I ran an Eon (it has lower base armor) so i focused on shield
I ran an enhanced shield regulator in my low
