Assuming you use all 4 low slots on a Proto Sentinel, that you take into account the penalties, as well as the bonuses from the biotic skill and kinetic skill...
7.1892 m/s
For reference: A Gallante Scout runs at 7.6 m/s
A Minmatar Scout runs at 7.9 m/s
And a Caldari/Gallante Assault run at 7 m/s
And Amarr Assault run at 6.7 m/s

I was merely provoked into finding out the extremes due to an unfortunate encounter... With a sumo.

Heavies can be quick as the wind when they want to. This is their speed while carrying heavy, light, or side arm? I do not believe that carrying any weapon actually effects your speed. Rather, it appears slower because heavier weapons move more slowly while running.

Cat Merc wrote:You might be forgetting the 5% speed bonus from biotics. It bumps up Gal Assault to 7.4 m/s, Gal Scout to 8.01 (or something like that) m/s. Took it into account, just not for default numbers I put for the non heavy suits.

I think the draw of this fit is both with the unexpected nature of a speedy heavy and a likely combination of myofibril stimulants in the upper slot, which a heavy naturally takes better advantage of compared to the scout's melee strength. However, if you are looking to take advantage of lightning bruiser it's better overall to defer to a minmatar assault or logi depending on your play preferences. The Minmatar Assault?
LOL No
5 highs and 2 lows does not a brawler make.
I know because I lost 10 trying to make it work.

Rynoceros wrote:Probably closer to 7.8 with a Light Weapon or Sidearm equipped. (It is a significant enough boost in Speed to be clearly evident. Grab a MLT and see...) 1200 HP with a Proficiency 5 AR isn't exactly gimped. And being in a Fatsuit will always keep a Logi on your 6:00 ( Unless he's a dumb Logi that won't help in the firefight when facing >3 reds.) Your speed is not affected by the weapon you carry, at all. It is just an illusion.

Stamina lasts longer and a heavy suit sprints slower when using an HMG or Forge Gun. Stamina drains faster and a heavy suit sprints faster when equipping an SMG. The result is that you sprint the same distance for the same amount of stamina, but you arrive at your destination faster when holding an SMG vs an HMG. I have hundreds upon hundreds of sprints to objectives to back this up, but I can whip out a stopwatch if I must. (I thought it was just in my head at first, but then I got all scientific about it and did A/B testing. I will also say that I can't generalize this to any other suit or weapons, as I haven't tested that. But it's definitely true for heavies using an HMG and SMG combo.) You sure about that buddy? I doubt it.

I'll try to time it for conclusive proof, but give it a shot, paying attention to both run time and run distance. The distance stays the same, but the run time to cover the distance differs. I'll go test again myself, and will readily eat my words if I'm wrong. Use a stop watch.
