Logis have been the big ticket QQ for quite a while now and nearly every single suggestion on how to nerf them just plain sucks.
If you limit me to just a sidearm... im still going to kill people, and your still going to QQ.
i know this becuase my most common fit uses only an SMG, and i still kill people, i still top charts, im still a lethal killer.
if you reduce the slots, well thats all fine, im still going to kill people, and your still going to QQ.
i know this becuase i run around in a Sever suit most of the time and do just fine.
you guys need to wrap your heads around the fact that logis are going to kill people, and a good slayer is going to be just as deadly in a logi suit as an assault suit, and it wont matter what you change to the suit thats always going to be true.
currently the logi skill bonus is OP, and the assault skill bonus is useless.
THAT is the single factor wich is cuasing this mess, its the reason people speced logi over assault int he first place, and its why you see so many logis vs assaults.
CCP know this and has posted about trying to rework the skill bonuses, and thats what they are refering to when they speak of nerfing logis.
but do not think for a second they will suddenly be less deadly, they will simply be a little less surviable then they are now.
this talk of "slayer" logis is complete BS, you seem to think that the class is a dedicated healer when in reality is just an equipment user.
i use it for the remote explosives spam, and no matter what happens to the suit i will continue to do so, and continue to top the charts. |

HOW THE HELL does the color yellow denote someone as being a dedicated healer? The class, as some have suggested are the SWISS ARMY KNIVES of Dust.
Need an objective covered but donGÇÖt have the man power to spare? RE it. Bring in a logi.
Need in tell assessments while maintaining a roving guard. DONE. Where is my Amarr logi.
Need an AG in that Gunnlogi? There is no one better than a LOGI! Scanners, AV, Repair tool, and nanohives.
All of these situations would require the dispersement of multiple soldiers to complete the same jobs. The reason we have seen SO MANY LOGIs in the field is not FOTM soldiers, though there are a few mixed in there, rather due to low player counts in battle (i.e., the 16 on 16) requires MORE MERCS to be MORE VERSATILE. Versatility on the battlefield has demanded the greater servicing of LOGIs.
IF other suits had some additional versatility available to them, then maybe there wouldnGÇÖt be so many.
Colors and your abject determinations of how I, or any other dedicated logis (that is not hose that are JUST dedicated to healing, but are dedicated to support and facilitation) are GÇ£supposedGÇ¥ to perform are not what defines a logi.
Logis are identified by the overall effectiveness they give to the squad and team as a whole.
Fix the bonuses on the Assaults, give the proto-suits (scouts and assaults) an extra equipment slot, and then maybe look at the changes in player interaction before playing the bigot towards those of us that excel at our job of supporting their team.
Before CCP should even think about NERFing us, they should play with us. Observe logis in action. What they will realize is that the problem is not with the logi suit, rather it is the shortcomings of their other suit designs that become apparent.
The funny thing is that those COD kids that are crying about the slayer logi would know nothing about it since there are no GÇ£classesGÇ¥ in COD. Those that are QQing and used to play BF, well I used to play STRICT support class and with an LMG, I would be the murdering bane of most of my opponentsGÇÖ existence while supporting my squad and platoon. And those that have come from EVE thinking that logistics means sitting in the back, well this isnGÇÖt EVE. You do the flying, WE DO THE DYING.
My existence on the ground is a much shorter one than what you have in orbit. You can leave and sit to a POS or a station to refit without fear of attack. I on the other hand must do everything in the heat of combat and potential danger while also being limited to where I can be on the map.
EVE pilots have NONE of our limitations.
Needless to say the points of context that all of the parties that have been crying out for the nerf hammer to be dropped on the logis due to effectiveness in the battle field are being narrow-minded and unimaginative.
If you even read Templar One, you would see that Victor was an obvious Logi, and a slayer at that. I DO NOT SEE THE PROBLEM.
Open your eyes and begin to see that the box that you think is nice, cozy, and safe will only be the coffin that you will be buried in. That is unless you are able to break free and see the possibilities.
The solution to this IMAGINED problem is to allow for greater adaptability of other suits.

Someone finally gets it. A good FPS player is going to find a way, regardless of a nerf. Even when CCP finally changes the logi class bonus, a good player that's also a good logi is going to kick your ass and support their team at the same time. You can't nerf skill... unless you nerf a person's preferred input device...

Caldari Assault Ship
I would like you to carefully look over the stats of each ship....
Done? Ok
As you can see by the way the ships are set out the Basilisk can indeed fit weapons of similar size to the weapons on the Eagle however as a logistics ship it is limited by the number of weapons it can fit thus making it a far less efficient slayer than the Eagle witch is a ship set up to Slay enemies from the get go.
Eve has more freedom than we do but that dose not mean they without limits.

The tank is harder to kill then the car, while maintaining the cars lethality, therefore it is more deadly.

people really underestimate the usefullness of having a sidearm.
in an even engagement with wise use of cover on both sides, assumeing equal skill and gear, the guy with the sidearm has more oportunities for pushing forward then the guy without.
that reload window can mean everything, and hot swapping to the sidearm and charging forward on their reload is a guarenteed way to gain an upper hand.
again though thats assuming equal skill, wich is hard to find in matches right now. |

Sidearms are only really useful in CQC. This is due to the crappy ScP sights, the flays travel time, and the SMG's short range.
So, at mid range, and in 1v1 CQC, a logi has the upper hand with better EHP values, and with not having to worry about a sidearm popping out of nowhere.
In CQC, the sidearm is likely not going to be used due to most bullets hitting, meaning your going to die before you have to worry about a reload.
2.5 seconds isn't going to clear enough distance in mid-range combat to make that sidearm you got worth anything. you are likely going to have to cover around 30ish meters to get into useful range with a sidearm, and considering the range that most mid-range fights occur, like 60-45 meters, so covering 15 meters won't make that sidearm your carrying useful. Besides, running around in the open to attack a enemy, or squatting behind this wall and reloading. Which makes a bit more sense?

Geeze, was that quote taken WAY OUT OF CONTEXT.
IF you are going to misquote me, at least give me the curtsy of a reach around and a kiss on the cheek.
Your choice of selective quote clipping only reminds me of politicians and the new media, which is to say I trust neither as far as I am willing to shot a load on them.
That being said, the only limits that are available to anyone are those that they impose upon themselves.
To box a DUST logi in the cage of an EVE logi is ridiculous, and what I was referencing as to the freedom of EVE is the freedom of movement and the fact that they are not limited to a single battlefield with each iteration of the cloneGÇÖs existence.
Next time READ THE ENTIRE POST before MISQUOTING ME. DonGÇÖt be an ass. |

Which makes a bit more sense?
let me just give you some perspective here...
my only weapon outside remote explsoives.... is an assault SMG
if what your saying was true, i shouldnt be able to outdo anyone with an assault rifle. but since i do i call BS on your entire speech. i go toe to toe with ARs and thats becuase i understand the concept of range control, and i dont let them have it :P
if you die before the fight comes to a point where someone had to reload... your doing it wrong, learn to hug cover, learn to pick your fights, and learn how to bob and weave.
a sidearm is a tool at your disposal, its another trick of the trade, it wont always be the most apropriate, but there are times when it shines, and even more so when you plan for it int he first place.
sometimes you just dont ahve time to relead if you want to live, and sometimes you have to make it so that the oponent doesnt have time to reload if they want to live.
if its such a meaningless advantage why then is it so damn kitten useful. and oftin the deciding factor between life and death in those tense situations. and if its not really that important, why do you put a sidearm on your assault suit when you could just use that PG/CPU elsewhere since the suits so "short" on it?
after all the logis dont seem to need them? so why do assault players chose sidearms over more armor? or better equipment/granades?
its becuase sometimes reloading takes too much damn time, and youve either died becuase of it, or they have gotten away or have reloaded and your window for pushing forwards has ended.
and in the end isnt an assault suit about being good at pushing forward, taking those advantages and using them to put pressure on classes that dont have those advantages?

If this was actually the case then they wouldn't be yellow HOW THE HELL does the color yellow denote someone as being a dedicated healer? Wow, you managed to read all that into my one sentence? Congratulations. Its a wall of text I don't even need to bother refuting, because you aren't even arguing against what I said. You are arguing against what you somehow imagined I said. Have fun with that.
Yea, well, you attempt to be simple only reveals how much you try to hide. You seem not be able to admit to your own diminished sense of possibility. I pity you. |
