Let's be real: scout sucks, really bad, only through skill luck and dirty underhanded tactics can you do well in this suit without straight up tanking the *****.
CCP knows scouts suck, the CPM knows scouts suck, and we know scouts suck.
The DEVs tried to help scouts out in 1.6 with a few buffs, and succeeded actually, but the new and improved TTK put a dampening on the good that came from this improvement, for obvious reasons, but that's not what this tread is about.
The point is despite the thrashing we've been taking and past nerfs the DEVs at the very least see the problem and are trying to balence the role once again, which is good, so not all hope is lost.
As long as the DEVs are doing something to improve the class, even if it's only a little at a time, it'll add up to a new and improved product that we can enjoy.
And hopefully the assault guys don't abuse again like most weapons and suits that've been nerffed in the past.

I swear to whatever deity that may be that if a scout buff consists of tweaking resource pools and a few extra slots instead of powerful role bonuses that actually define battlefield roles, I will punch children.
Like, I will make indents in their faces in the shape of my fist. I want them to explain it to their parents.

I don't know. It's a pain to take me down in the scout suit without constantly scanning me down with an active scanner of at least advanced. The 'Dren' Shotgun is my weapon of choice and I pop mediums in a max of two shots. Heavies at three normally, four max. Lights are one.
I don't armor tank. I don't dampen tank. I'm speed tanking, which is a hell of a lot more frightening than dampen or armor. It's takes a while for my stamina to drain, but even then it is very quick to recharge. I don't charge head on. I flank. I control entire areas because of it. I like lurking around objectives because I can get around it so easily.
It's the scanner that gets me killed. I can't ninja around with them in play. I'm not saying scouts are okay, but I'm also saying they're not bad. It's literally down to the user on the abilities of any suit, Scout included. This also goes for weapons.

Just imagine that glorious day when we do get buffed though. People will be crying for a nerf of the scouts when we can actually start being dirrectly dangerous instead of indirectly. Of course we can still kill, i mean not having to hide from everyone all the time and actually hit and run.
Dedicated scout. Because the suit is underpowered. Imagine the good ones when we get buffed people ;)

Personally I hope that CCP makes minor additional tweaks only, as noted in many other threads. I don't want scout/lightframe suits to become easy enough to use that any common merc off the street can pick one up and wreck shop with more speed/health/power/weaponslots/cloaks/etc.... (whatever).
Leave that kind of common denominator bullshit to the medium frame brick tank / duvolle AR guys.
Scouts are the elite hunter/killers, and the users inside the dropsuits are the best of the best - the special ops members of the merc world.
All 'da rest are just grunts, and I'm fine if it stays that way; no need for them to clutter up the registry and I sure don't want any FOTM chumps picking up scout suits.
Am I an elist? Nah, I just think I'm better than the medium frame punks.

The only role I've tried that rivals the scout in terms of required player skill is dropship pilot. I'd rather fail as a lone scout or pilot than succeed as a brick tanked damage spewing one trick pony that only comes out with a pack of friends at my back.
Yes, I'd like to see a balance pass done on the scouts but I hope it remains a rewarding challenge.

even after the caldari scout is introduced it's bonuses should be to cloaking.
Most likely our NK bonus will be transferred to the Matari version of the blade.

Health is perfect, for both Gallente, and Minmatar Scouts.
PG/CPU needs a buff.
Scan Radius needs a buff. (16m -> 25m)
Speed needs a slight buff.
Strafe needs to be made 1:1 with movement (This should be Scout/Light specific, no other suit should get this)
Fall Damage needs to be halved
Scan Precision needs a buff
Remove perfect precision from Objectives
Turrets are unable to target Scouts, unless provoked, or controlled
And of course, we need a role, everything we can do, a Logi can do better, so bring back Squad vision for Scouts only, our results should be shared with our squad, and our squad's results should be shared with us.

you're getting scanned by ADVANCED scanners?? /pssh. your fault.
it takes one lousy militia dampener to make that go away.
if you skilled a little more into scout specifc stuff, you wouldnt even need a module

My ewar scout has 84 shield and 162 armor...yup. I do alright in it. I got Adv precision, complex range, and basic damp. RE, pro knive, bsc smg. I feel good in it, I don't have much to complain these days. The overall game needs to improve, by adding more weapons and suits.
