and believe that forbidding the use of these wapons to logis will help the game. I propose instead, to buff the assault suits armor and shields, so that they are on the same total level of eHP.

When a dropsuit, module, or weapon is OVERpowered you do not increase the power of everything else. This leads to power creep (see: WoW). As a developer you must sometimes nerf the feature or item that is too powerful to bring it in line with the its peers.
It won't win you any popularity contests with your players, but it must be done.
Also, the forums are having a hissy fit over something hasn't even been confirmed by CCP yet. Someone in CCP just said that a change will occur that will make logis less of a slayer and more of a support dropsuit. That's it. We don't even know specifics yet.
No paid respecs without massive SP penalties.

While I don't particularly agree with exchanging the Logi's light weapon slot for a sidearm slot, a list of weapons is hardly proof.
The exact same could be done for heavy weapons on non-heavy suits. Still doesn't make a compelling argument for allowing scouts to run around with HMGs (as fun as that would be).

A long list of weapons people would deny to other players being a logi. I mean, big surprise, not every logi is a proto. So thinks, how many payers would quit this game, and how many new players could you retain if they think, well this suit might be cool, but i cant do any effective shooting in thIs FPS.

I don't personally agree with the "sidearm-only" proposal, but I think I could accept it if CCP implemented some sort of carbine-type medium range sidearm. Or maybe a carbine version of each of the racial rifles.
Also, I agree with other posters that a long list of weapons is a long way from "proof".

The point is assaults have not that mmuch roles they can perform and their suit is well designed to perform that role. Nerfing the logi suit won't change that.
Assaults are first of all attacksuits, they need to go in fast and strike hard. Naturally they should have lower eHP compared to slower suits. But the thing is they can't go in fast and strike hard as their bonusses don't benefit such actions. Soaking lots of damage is IMHO not the task of an assault player thats what (current) logis and heavies are for.
Assaulst should be skirmishers that deal lots of damage while moving fast from A to B. Currently they can only move fast from A to B but they can not deal more damage than other suits thats the problem.
If logies should be damage soakers is another question IMHO they should not they should be highly mobile to get where they are needed and they should be less tanky than assaults. |

I think this deserves some consideration...
Suppose CCP does end up removing the light weapon from all logistic suits, BUT with the next patch they add a couple of new sidearms. We have heard and seen pictures of the ion pistol a few things now, right? I wouldn't be surprised if it made it into 1.8 or 1.9.

This is an important point.
I feel some people want the Assault suit to be fastest, hardest hitting, AND soak up the most damage, relegating the Logistics suit to a second class pack mule. |

Consider making the equipment they are supposed to carry "cheaper" from the point of view of CPU/PG.
Consider making the equipment they are supposed to carry have more maximum uses, maximum number active or higher number carried.
Consider adjusting the number of high and low slots to remove the worst examples of logi suits used in a CQC role. This would obviously require a look at the statistics for how the suits are used improperly.
Remove the grenade slot, so they are less likely to be used as CQC suits. In return for this, consider adding an equipment slot. These two slot changes might be easiest to balance and would be simplest to implement.
Keep the one weapon slot they already have.
Any or all of these might help.

Damn You are still missing the point. Most people want logi nerfed because they don't fill their eq slots. That's why they got more EHP instead of support equipment. On my proto ammar i got 3 equipments and they cost same cpu/pg amount as 2x duvolle ARs. Do U really want me to use 2x submachine gun and have even more hp ?? That will change nothing, you will get close and U will die even faster.
CCP force logi to use all eq slots each fit have and give min amount of cpu/pg that need to be used as equipment for each logi fit. You won't see logi with more than 800 EHP and it will solve most problems.
I'm logi but when I run games without squad or with 1-2 mates only and we have full 2 squads on other side I prefer my dragonfly assault withe exile NO DMG MODES and scanner (18k ISK per fit) and my K/D ratio is far bigger than proto amarr logi with exile/duvolle, one dmg mode and ~800 ehp (135k~160k ISK)
This suppose to be a shooter for thinking people so at least act like one. Assault class got better shield recharge and it's faster. Use it next time...

Then why would the Dev choose this thread to bring up the fact that Logis will be getting nerfed?
