And here I thought the logi's main role was to support his team with reps, revives, ammo and spawns...my bad. Didn't know the logi is supposed to be Dust's version of a mothership in EVE
The more you post, the more I get the feeling you don't really know what you're talking about. You seem to believe the logi's supposed to be the best at everything at the sole expense of SP. That's ridiculous!
Even IF they introduce this change, it won't impact how well you can perform your LOGI role in the least.
Given the amount of SP you claim to have, you'd think you're clever enough to switch to an assault suit if you want to slay...and then back to the logi to perform LOGI duties. After all, given all your SP, it shouldn't be hard to skill assault to proto level. It's not as if all the other skills become worthless.

Yes, against proto players you're at a slight disadvantage. But in return you get all those juicy slots that benefit your team way more than one more AR. It's not as if it cripples you from performing your LOGI duties.
Also, it's not as if a proto assault takes that many more shots to die to my scrambler headshots...so the disadvantage isn't all that huge. Do we really have to do the math and see how many more shots it takes to down a proto assault vs a non-proto?
Hearing some logis whine here is kinda sad. It makes it clear they really only want an assault with more equipment slots...which would make the logi pointless.

On a side note, YES to full respec, as a Minmatar in dust and eve I want my racial varientz, the only reason I specialized into ar's is because I thought it was minie racial.
