i have the pleasure of being one of the few scouts that can go 1v1 with a proto heavy, thanks to my ability with scrambler pistol.
they aren't OP silly. 
go back to the nerf AR crap. just because a weapon can beat the AR doesn't mean its OP

Why did no one listen to this logic when they were nerfing tanks, dropships, dumbfire swarms, flaylocks, and calogis. Admittedly, this has been working for ARs for the most part, but still...

You pull people in with the title and betray their expectations for a laugh. Either that, or you really believe this.
Well, the Scrambler does out DPS the AR. However, at higher levels without a headshot, you need to land 90% of your clip to take someone out. It's pretty easy to miss some shots and die. The headshots are nuts, though. They take skill, unlike pray and spray, so it's OK.

As an AR and scrambler user I prefer my AR up to about 20m. Any map where I will engage a lot past that range the scrambler is better in every way. The assault scrambler is a beast and the single shot version can kill most frames with only a few shots. Less if led with a charged shot. And the overheat is manageable if your a good aim. |

Scrambler Pistol right? Yeah it is pretty damn deadly. However, it is completely balanced the same way Nova Knives are balanced. It takes skill to land the headshots required to actually be deadly with it. Without the skill needed most people will find them extremely underwhelming weapons. |

I don't know what it is about scram pistol threads in the last day or so but me and a couple guys from inf4m0us have just returned and we all are running scouts with scram pistol and i can go toe to toe with some people's best suit and win with my adv pistol and std gallente scout lol.

The pistol isn't op, but have you ever used one? It is way stronger than you would think.
When I first started out of the academy, before I went to using smgs for the higher rate of fire and to allow me an automatic weapon when using a sniper instead of the ar, I occasionally ran out of ammo for my ar and no one had put down any nanohives.
So I pulled out my pistol and charged!! I would get a surprising amount of kills, often times more than I had recently gotten with the AR (note that overall I got more with the ar of course.) I once got three or four with in half a minute to a minute or two, one a heavy. I even once or twice ran out of ammo for the pistol and thought to myself, "What now? I don't think I have ever lived this long." I had no real plan, did not expect to last that long, and couldn't even believe that I was intended to live that long.
The fact is that in terms of in-game power compared to the scrambler pistol, Halo CE's M6D looks like a .22 LR target pistol. |
