AE stole my lunchbox that I got for my preschool class. To make matters worse, they gave it back to the pre-k kid I originally stole it from.

I understand new eden and I get that backstabbing and political intrigue are part of the game, as well as greed.
but we must, for the sake of dust's growth be community builders at this stage or you and those like you will have no one to back stab and dominate.
although veal is delicious, if you don't let some calves grow up to be cows you will eventually run out of fresh meat.
entertain these thoughts while you continue to try to stamp out those 100% dedicated to community growth and then ask yourself if you are successful at this but don't take up the reigns yourself of providing a place for new players to grow, who will?
and then you will only have the few hundred like you to play this game with.
if that's what you and those like you call a win, then continue on your present course.
personally, I want this game to be great and competitive and I want the community to thrive. it's partly our responsibility to do this. theres plenty of time to be the best at dominating the game, once we have a robust community ready for that level of gameplay.
at the risk of sounding dramatic, right now, mercs like you are killing this game far more than the devs ever could. |

generally speaking the relentless proto stomping and PC mechanics manipulation and domination.
if I really need to be more specific, then my attempt to reach out to you and your ilk is already a lost cause.
bottom line you know what you and your friends have done and are doing. I will not flame or get into a discussion based on semantics. its pointless to do so.
you either recognize the harm you and yours have done and will choose to reverse course or you will continue to clumsily steamroll the community into the dust.

The issue of proto stomping is toughy. I grinded hard to get my gear and enjoy it - but I understand the destruction to others enjoyments it bring. As such - since Open Beta first dropped, I have never used a proto suit in pubs. I also jump into pub squads for those single games and help guide and teach and inspire people to push forward to enjoy the game as I have.
But this is a bumpy road to do - it's not something the community can see. All they notice is when I group with friends who are all vets like me - we destroy all. But I keep those squads just for FW for the Amarr side - especially since they're struggling so hard currently. (sometimes ambush since most my friends favor the quick games :( )
And then there's my personal issue with the HMG - I've tried to become a legend with it - but the stats won't allow it. So I've jumped from HMG to the only Amarr weapon *I'm an amarr loyalist* I knew of that's any good - ScR. And it's given me a bad outlook of FOTM, rather then me just breaking free of a poorly designed gun. I still think AR is a better weapon, but that's not important.
But even that is a poor excuse for myself since I run around in an LLAV - but you have to remember, 80% of my games I am solo - by myself - struggling. LLAV was my counter to my suits weaknesses *heavy*. Often times if there's no squad on the other side I'll just drive around just trying to run people over - never getting out. But even then I get hatemail.
I'm in a lose - lose situation in the communities eyes.
But despite all that - It's my deepest wish to help this game. I had 400mil ISK at one point a month ago - I've given away nearly 300mil ISK to pubs and players low in ISK for free. I am now down to nearly 200mil even with me PCing constantly and raking in 10mil a game contracts.
Honestly - this is just a rant in my defense - I have no real defense for my actions in game. I can only hope people who read my posts come to understand I am not a bad guy - want to help - will help anyone, even if I hate you. This games success and growth means more then petty disputes. But I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If I could bow down infront of everyone and apologize, I would, and I would hope CCP would be behind me when I do so I could secretly throw them the middle fingers - because it's there bad mechanics forcing me to play the way I do.

I cant agree with you more in your comments about ccp. it is ultimately their responsibility.
I will take you at face value on your charitable efforts since I have not personally seen this.
if you wouldn't mind, seeing that you do seem to have the community at heart, please explain to me then why you and your corp (if you can say they feel the same as you about this game) have shown so much hostility to a training corp I will leave unnamed who is doing nothing but trying to help new players?
because right now as I see it you speak of caring for a community yet you and yours have attempted to crush one of the biggest community builders in this game.
further more have you ever reached out to this community building corp to offer your experience to its new players?
I hope you can provide some insight into this for me, because I want to believe you are a valued member of the community instead of an instigator in its demise. |

The Imperfects value individuals and there ability to back up there words. They do not want to see this game go to **** anymore then the rest of you. However, they're trolls, worse then I. They tend to let petty disputes and comments derail them from there initial attempts to bring something to this game and have become very bitter towards the community.
It's a shame. But they enjoy the villain role they've taken up - originally stating that if they community rose up against them it would inspire people to get more skilled.
But that got derailed as well by CCP mechanics - they're a frustrated lot when it comes to Dust. I stayed with them because I wanted to be known as a good player who could play with the best and the best wanted to play with. But by doing so I became isolated from much of the community - which i work on repairing.
Imps were not bad guys - they created events and RP's for people to enjoy rather then just crushing and laughing. Take the Dust Uni planet at start of PC for example - they declared intent to crush it and it turned into several threadnaughts of everyone tuning in to enjoy the meta involved. But did they crush Dust Uni? No - they never fought them more then once. SI are the ones who crushed Dust Uni and there dreams. What did the Imps do? They challenged the corps who called themselves the best and sold districts to corps who wouldn't get into PC on there own and set up protection plans for them, creating deals with EoN to leave these guys alone.
And as for me helping training corps - I have. I've been asked to train heavies and show them the ropes almost monthly - and I do so with pride. No heavy should feel insecure trying to come to talk to me asking for advice on anything. I will always help.

I appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with me.
I personally understand how frustrating this game can get.
I also value the villain role in new eden.
I only hope they can realize that when they started this game it was a very different game and while encouraging the community to improve their skill and rising against them is a great endeavor, dust in its present state has not the facilities or infrastructure to meet this challenge nor the player base.
as we have already agreed CCP must do their part to ensure a thriving community but we must still do ours.
there simply isn't a good guy out their to challenge your bad guy.
we all want the same thing here I think, can I implore you and those like you to find a more productive way to achieve the goals you all seem to have.
because right now its just crushing the community.
may I suggest finding a way to build the community base without the blue wars and elitisism ( probably not a real word but you know what I mean)?
this never ending recycling of the same top players in different corps stamping out the little guys because they can isn't helping anyone but the few on the stomping side.
is there not a better way to have fun here?

Then what the hell am I doing then? My character was born on January 3 and I only came back to DUST around June. I have a corp of what many would say noobs. But we're going to still try.

But if we didn't care about the community, let's see where shall I start:
- Doing my best to uphold PFC in a fashionable manner, although a hard task to take on, no lies
- Giving up districts outside of PFC territory for similar ideological corporations so they can play in PC while they have a chance
- We don't attack our own districts, well actually AE attacked AE. once, that was the most fun I have ever had in this game
- We are now in an alliance with Dust corporations and I am almost positive all of the dust corporation leaders will keep me in line, except on Sundays cause that's my drink and play Dust nights
- We still attend to smaller corporations necessities; such as Latino Killer Corporation wanting to PC against us so they can see what we do in PC's
