Support Assault
You have to be unselfish. Not every kill is yours. You're there to support and kill at the same time. Drop uplinks in good areas for others to get the objectives quick. Don't be afraid to switch to your other suit to scan if you need to. Support Assaults arrn't just killing machines. Sometimes we gotta throw an uplink next to us if we know it's getting hectic.
The other night I was in FW, me against 4. I took out 2 but more came because they had the objective plus an uplink next to them. I had no nanohives and just 1 uplink left. I toss it next to me and kept shooting enemies & hiding behind cover. A minute later 3 blueberries appeared to help. Nanohives next to us and grenades falling. Was pretty awesome.
Before becoming a Support Assault, you gotta know that you can't just rush in. Take your time and look around and behind you. Look around the corner before running past it sometimes. I know we don't have that mechanic but you can fake it. :P |

Dropship Pilot:
FIrst of all, you must learn to accept losses. You are going to lose a lot of money when you die. Never fly anything you can't afford to lose.
Learn how to fly. Hit up Judge Rhadamanthus' videos and practice dives, slides, targeting, landing, etc. Your ability to maneuver and escape will make you valuable and keep you alive.
Learn to be a team player (not the corp). It's not always about killing the enemy. Fly behind the enemy and drop uplinks in hard to reach places. Clear enemy uplinks from roofs. Ferry teammates for objectives. Your first role is support. Win/Loss > Kill/Death

Q. What role do you play? A. CQC Scout.
Q. Now what would you say are the requirements someone would have to meet before being one of said role? A. Play the role more than one plays everything else combined.
Q. If they met said requirements would you consider them part of said role? A. Yep. So long as the aforementioned requirement was perpetually met.
Q. Along with that, what would you say needs to happen before someone can have an accurate opinion on said role? A. Sufficient SP investment. Sufficient time investment, as to amass meaningful sample size prior to opining. |

Atiim wrote:Ludvig Enraga wrote:I am confused by the OP. What do you mean by 'role' - diff ppl mean diff things when they say it. I think a better question would have been what suit and weapon you play. Because those terms are real. Now compare this with roles. For example, you would often hear a 'logi role' which is misleading because it assumes that there is a play style that is attached to a suit which is not the case. Consider this: logi is a suit that can accommodates almost any play style; while, for example, scout fails just about any attempt of ppl using it. By extension there are no such things as 'logi role' and 'scout role'. I put role instead of suit and weapons to broaden the possible responses For example, my role is 'Slayer Logi' Or; My suit and weapons is Logistics and Duvolle Assault Rifles By using role instead of suits and weapons people are able to (and will most likely want to) go into detail about their actions on the battlefield; as opposed to giving me a stale, dull, and straightforward statistic.
I see. I guess it opens door for more creative responses. |

Hugged a supply depot and kept swapping fits as needed, help held off a massive attempt on C first the LAVs swarmed us and we had to start blowing them up, the foot infantry remaining had to be mopped up and went assault, then the took the ridge with snipers overlooking the socket and took out the sniper and laser fits to burn them down then swapped back to my shock fit and rushed the cliff and took out their drop uplinks and non snipers up there.
Didn't have time to play logibro to heptic >< Oh come on... We know you actually really don't play this game ; ) Last time I saw you, you no scoped me dead center of the chest after I thought I got you coming up a very small bump of a hill I was a bit miffed but never managed to get near you again the rest of the match rest of the reds kept me busy.
: p
I get lucky now and then, most of the time I just blow myself up trying. |

Scout here. I specialize in harrassing the enemy.
Whether by setting up ambushes with remotes, or by picking off targets one by one with knives, I make it my goal to disrupt the enemies battle plans by any means necessary.
This also means I tend to die a lot, due to a squishy suit and a "Do it or die" mentality.
On the other hand, I do tend to get a lot of kills

Depends on the character. This one is a Logi. Another is a Heavy, and my last is an Amarr Assault.
I consider you to be the class you claim if you use it the way it was intended. Logis are equipment mules. Heavies use heavy weapons (Not a heavy if you use Light Weapons. Commandos exempt from previous statement.). Assaults are killers. And Scouts... are hard to place. If you use the suit, you're a scout. Doesn't mean you're a good one, but still.
I am the Horseless Headsman.

Q. What role do you play? A. Assault Slayer(not K/D wh0re)
Q. Now what would you say are the requirements someone would have to meet before being one of said role? A. Perform the role to highest expectations. Win 95-100% of your gunfights. Cover teammates. Kill the top slayers on the opposing team. Clear out objectives, maintain objectives, and sometimes assist in hacking an objective. Occupying the other team's complete attention to free your team to preform their roles.
Q. If they met said requirements would you consider them part of said role? A. Of course. 2 Assault Slayers are always better than 2
Q. Along with that, what would you say needs to happen before someone can have an accurate opinion on said role? A. Time in performing it correctly. Getting clutch kills, staying alive, and winning situations were you are outnumbered. Consistently. Eventually, as a slayer you will die, but did you add to your team's progression during that life?
