There is an extraordinary amount of hate for Dust on there. I mean, I understand that we haven't been able to show ourselves in their world yet, but come on, pod pilots! Have some patience! The Dust-EVE link will be fleshed out eventually. And if any of you EVE players happen to be reading this, please stop suggesting to CCP that they get rid of my favorite game

Just like this forum, you will note that the majority of what gets posted there is angry ranting or complaining.
Very rarely do positive outlooks make it far upon the top page. |

Actually it more stems from the fiasco created by this:
http://www.eveonline.com/capsuleers/jita-riots/
And also the misunderstanding that somehow EVE devs are being retasked as DUST devs and thus taking away future content from the EVE game.
The other part is that EVE Online players are a much more mature demographic (I want to say like average age is over 25, but not sure) and they see the console as a toy for impatient little kids that like to play twitch games.
Obviously none of the above is true, but you asked what was up.
Oh and lastly, the EVE community is full of very thick skinned and derogatory players that eat their own young at times. So the motto HTFU definitely applies. |

Honestly, it probably behooves us to start putting some positive engagements in the EVE forum.
I found that when I meet EVE pilots, particularly the first time they are dragged out to help drop some orbitals for us, they come away with a very different perspective of what Dust is. More accurately what Dust is becoming (granted it's slower than many of us would like).
Some EVE pilots actually started a chat channel for FW and it's getting pretty popular during the big FW pushes. Some of them are actively looking to start Dust Corps as holding companies or access point for future revenue. Essentially covering their bets and building an initial network of contacts in the merc community.
Basically, once you engage with them and particularly if you get them to listen in to a chat channel during a battle many are much more open to working with us and promoting our corner of New Eden. |

Well, I'm glad at least some of them are receptive. I quit EVE before Dust, so I only know what I read on the EVE forums I'll keep this in mind when I finally get around to starting a corp. Thank you.

People resist change. Add in a healthy dose of internet anonymity and you get what you read.
CCP doesn't cave to minority whines about much, so I'm not worried about capsuleers crying their way into dust closure. Nerds everywhere have been wailing and gnashing their teeth about it being on PC, PS4 and yet, here we are. Either people will play (and pay for) the game or they won't - this will decide what happens to dust.
If you really want to reach out to eve players, don't bother with the forums. Try to find FW corps interested in dust mercs. |

No problem. The FW channel I was referring to was JTF GalMil DD. It's a gallente FW channel started by some EVE folks, you might want to check it out.
Our corp and alliance is very active in FW and we have some strong EVE ties...message me in game and I can put you in touch with some folks that can help you out. |

Spot on. Dust organizations that are organized fo FW and have their business together should have consistent and readilly available fleet support. It's a great way to make some valuable contacts with EVE side folks.

Eve players should understand one thing: Dust IS new content for eve. Future updates for dust will also expand eve. They started with fw and this will be updated in the coming months but there is more down the line. |

If you REALLY want to get EVE pilots interested in DUST and helping out, then there is one very, VERY, important thing that the EVE developers will need to implement to make that happen. And it is a VERY quick and easy thing to do...
ADD IN DUST MERC KILLMAILS FOR EVE PILOTS!
If there is anything that seems to motivate a lot of EVE pilots, it's amassing killmails (this is the equivalent to earning a higher KDR in DUST). So if doing an orbital bombardment results in killing a DUST merc, then the EVE pilot should receive a kill mail not only telling them so, but also what gear etc was on that merc and approximate ISK values etc like they currently do for ship kill mails.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, then go here and look up any name of an EVE pilot and then drill dow nto a specific kill mail:
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/
If they introduce DUST merc killmails into EVE online you will get a large number of EVE pilots wanting to accrue them.
EDIT: To save you even more time, here is a random killmail I found that shows what I'm talking about:
