The fully automatic ARs are just ripping through everything. It's just GEKs and Duvolles everywhere. Before AA and hit detection, people used a variety of guns. Not just GEK and Du. It was Breach, Tactical, Burst. I hardly see those guns anymore. Wth happened? |

Try this, do not ADS through an entire match.
The AR is pathetic, Aimbot should not be in a competitive multiplayer FPS, its a single player storymode option. I'd say reduce damage mods to STD/MLT 2%, ADV 3% PRO 5%

I can actually FEEL i cant kill freakn Gal Logis proto because they pack 700 Armor with my 88 per shot becomes 70 per shot. In any case, Scrambler rifles need their bonus changed to 115% vs Shields / 90% Vs armor

This was not a [STARTER FIT], this was a PRO Minmatar Logi stacking Enhanced Extenders in the Highs and Enhanced Plates in the lows. It should take more than two shots to drop that.
IMHO, Scrambler Rifles should be tweaked to 140%/60% if not 160%/40%.

The AR fulfills the CQ role VERY good, so much that its better than Shotguns / Novas and sometimes EVEN SMG's at close quarters. So powerful mid range that Nothing beats it at this range. And so powerful at longer ranges that it drops LAser users,scramble R users and Tactical Ar users alike...
Please, a weapon with SO many drawbacks that DENIES you from killing 2+ enemies due to overheat mechanics is never gonna be compared with a 60 bullet AR that nets you 4+ kills per clip.

Been doing a little inward thinking and when it gets down to it, something I found interesting was that OPness does change pending on what suit people are using
Many people have complained about the ScR and Thales as overpowered weapons, but not the case for low ehp suits, and I believe that is because any damage takes us down having semi auto or single shots are easily manageable, so having an inescapable scran swipes which ars provide is frustrating for non brick tank users.
So perhaps things are working as intended as different styles of defense are more easily countered by different weapon mechanics, I think my main grudge is that the auto fire swipe scan death device is so common, that it effectively locks down all movement and participation until everything clears.

Basically I think you just need to do a couple things to bring the AR in to balance in line with the racial rifles we get shortly.
1) no problem with the legit high end DPS and ROF. No issues with the variants, I'm even kinda ok with reducing the nerf on the TacAR an tiny bit.
2) add some some noticeable dispersion and recoil.
3) start the recoil and dispersion effects after the first 3 rounds...not the 20th.
4) significantly increase fall off damage or better yet accuracy once you get past optimal range
5) I think the discussion of an across the board 10% cut to light weapon damage is a legit discussion. That said you can run up max DPS pretty high (proficiency 5 and stacked damage mods = InstaBlap) even with dropping 10% off. Might need to re look that whole damage stacking concept. |

I've noticed almost no difference shooting an AR at 5 meters as it is shooting someone at 50 meters. It's ****** up math IMO.
And lol recoil does need to be adjusted. I notice it at maybe the 45th round
Anyway, I'm at Amarr Assault Level 3 and the only AR I plan to use anytime soon is the Toxin, and that's because it has lower fitting requirements and it's free :D I will be running Scramblers a lot more often.

My normal fit has 118 Shields and 507 and I get OHKO'd or Near OHK'd regularly against a SCR rifle.
I'm not saying their OP, but I know I'm not lying and I do rack in the kills a lot with SCRs.....
I'm gonna go back to using them for a bit and then form a completely unbiased analysis on them. Then make a thread about it and have everyone who uses the thing say "ROFL OMFG dude you suck" or "Get Good Scrub". Coupled by the famous "Lol yeah Atiim would want nothing more than this game becoming AR514."
I wonder what the SCR community is gonna say about my "analysis" and "opinion".

Hell you say it as it is something insane LOL. My A/1 logi with 2 Cx Sidearm Mods, Ishikune SMG + Toxin SMG and Prof 4 (Dampned of course) Does pretty well in CQ maps...

There are a bunch of problems but thats one of the most severe ^ imo. The AR simply dominates at every distance within its optimal. I mean, wheres its weak spot? Shotguns and most sidearms are weak at range. MD are weak at point blank and at 50+, AR are solid... everywhere?
Mid range, rifles should beat all other weapons, thats their prefered engagement range. Their effectiveness outside that range though needs to be addressed.
