i'm not sure about that. I've been pulling out the heavy when i'm locked into an objective, and been going on 10 kill streaks pretty regularly. |

Whenever they roll out a large new patch, they accompany it with one of these 3x events to bring people out of the woodwork, stress test their mechanics all week and see how the patch is holding up. In the mean time, they are stressing out the players with poor patch implementation by offering up what is clearly unbalanced mechanics that swing wildly in favor from one weapon to the next, again and again. It wouldn't be so bad if there was something else to do in DUST, like a single-player mode, where you're not constantly combating with mechanics that are seemingly perpetually not in your favor; unless you enjoy utilizing fit of the month but despite that, you are as much as a victim to the mechanics even in doing so. If you feel that you have to take advantage of the FOM to stay competitive, that's even worse, because it's forcing you into a specific play style rather than allowing you to develop your own. |

a GEK does 600-700dmg in an instant.
The exile and toxin do 700-800 damage in an instant
so duvolle does 900-1000 damage in an instant.
Thanks for proving a point though, it doesn't matter how much you tank when your sprint speed is 5m/S, bullet damage and time to kill is slowly turning this game into a one-trick-pony, literally one class to rule them all!
Why does an Exile/Toxin more damage than a GEK? I don't use AR. |

OP, I congratulate you for trying to defend the HMG, as I and many of my companions have done, but regrettably, we are but a small voice. You see, this is Dust 514, where the AR users call the shots, and anytime anyone attempts to make another weapon more powerful than their precious ARs, they get attacked and stomped down in the dust that wafts across the deserts of this games maps. CCP shall not harken overmuch to the issues at hand, rather being more concerned with the whims and wishes of the greater part of players: the AR users. For the rest of us, we must endure the long walk until CCP comes to their senses in regards to Scouts and Heavies. Wrong you do less damage with a AR against armor then you would against shields. The difference between both damage profiles is 20%. 110% damage versus shields and 90% against armor. You are mistaken that gallente AR's do more damage against armor. Minmatarr weapons like the HMG and SMG do additional damage against armor but less against shields.

Alright I'll try to explain it to you.
When a COD Scrub and Duvolle love each other very much, they get prof V.
But then the COD Scrub and the Duvolle want to add some more excitement to their "acts of romance" so they use complex "damage mods" to increase the excitement of that act of romance.
And when all the pleasure is over you end up giving birth to a heavy with 1.4k damage up his @$$.
There there Mr. Scout and Ms. Heavy, don't cry
You'll still be useful in my eyes

Explain this. Please, I'm begging you. Try to explain this: http://t.co/zvUwbINBPKJust a quick run down: I have 600+ Shields/800+Armor. I use the MH-82 Notice the range in the picture. i know this isn't going to get a blue tag, because CCP only answers to stuff they actually know they have the answer to, but I really want them to start looking at what's happening in their game instead of worrying about "added guns... turning up the action... removing BPOs..." Do people in Iceland drive cars with only 3 tires, cracked engine blocks, and the top down in the winter?? Ever heard of the term putting the cart before the horse? Make your game work, then maybe people will actually play it. I thought Krusader was a heavy?

also did you test this before you quit or after? I quit at the start of 1.5. I didn't use the HMG during that short time. Except once, when I was playing against DJNN Maurder, and his Scout walk right through my HMG and he killed me with a Shotgun. Even he admitted though, that it was lag, because that is supposed to be impossible. I know in 1.4 with the aim assist, it was a nightmare. And all before 1.3 I was an HMG regular. The whole reason I put the game back on(which quite a few people do at every patch, then uninstall again) was because Shotty Go Bang said the shotguns were fixed; technically he was wrong. They aren't "fixed" they are just broken in the favor of the user now. You get kills when you completely miss an opponent, and still get blanks when your shot is on. I've been using Shotguns like crazy since 1.6, trying to find some enjoyment out of them (I am finding a little, but only when the lag and bullsh*t is working in my favor, so its not very fair). But, I've been forced to use an AR in this game if I want any form of success. Even my SCR is not match for the Gallante Brick w/ Duvolle. So, I tried out the HMG. Before 1.4, my KDR with the HMG was around 20. So, I decided to try it out and see for myself what the forums were talking about. Needless to say. Its beyond saving. I knew it was bad, because a HMG hasn't killed me yet since I've been playing 1.6, that was my first tell tale sign. The safest place to stand from an HMG seems to be right in front of it. After 10 games of using the HMG, I just quit using it. It was actually making me upset, like feeling down upset. The highlight of the night was (what my link displays) is when an Duvolle was able to shoot me dead(and I started shooting first) from 6m away. That is mathematically impossible. My screen was lit up with hitmarkers, but he still gunned me down from 6 f*cking meters away...
I really don't understand what issues you're having. I decided to try the HMG for fun so I got an advanced heavy suit and advanced HMG and went like 20-3 a bunch of times without a problem. I thought it was actually kind of funny how easy it was to do this on my first try. I went off my experience with fighting heavies and decided to stay where I knew I could beat people: Choke points and CQ. If I hadn't personally experience how easy it is to use this class I wouldn't be saying this but unfortunately I have so, yeah, you're probably just bad at it or something. |

Yup, I've never used the HMG before. Yup, I've never had 30/0 games with it before. Yup, i don't know how to use the setup properly. Yup, I can only starter fits noobs...
You're right. I'm bad... thanks for reading the whole thread, because I wouldn't want to reexplain everything because of your laziness.
Tell me, how many times have you been killed while using an HMG from 6m away? Notice the guy's name in the picture btw? I promise that he would have eaten you alive. Go back read the part where I was in a CQC situation(I think the fact that it shows 6m is evidence of that), I was dictating the engagements to my advantage, I did shoot first and get the jump on him. Go back and read where my HMG KD is in the 20s.
Next week, when your SP resets, play as Heavy the whole week. Come back and tell me how you did, okay? |
