Something has to be done about these leveled up snipers. They kill you for somewhere and u never get to find out where from. If there was a kill cam or even a blip on ur radar that only showed u where you were shot from it would make it less frustrating. Just a suggestion. Flame on flamers

well the distance shown on the kill page gives a fairly good indicator. It'd be nice to have a bit of a distance legend for reference on the overview map, but if they are 300m+ away, they are more than likely on the edge of the map somewhere. |

Yes I know they have the distance and yes if you catch the bullet trail then you have a direction. But if there were a replay or kill cam the shooter would be forced to move locations. I know that once they shoot if allies are close they can see. But that's an if. And yes i take cover. Hard to when you spawn and move towards cover and get snipped |

The Thale snipers have been getting better, I can devote a large portion of the match tying to find them and more times then not I simply won't.
The thale snipers are more frustrating then anything because the majority of the time they simply won't render. and even if they will I can never be sure they are rendering so I have to constantly get closer to areas and see if that changes their rendering.
I end up fighting the game mechanics more then the opposing snipers.
even things like smoke trails from snipers won't render unless they are currently rendering on your screen.
I'm all for pushing snipers out of the red line, seriously red line sniping pisses me off, I am a sniper and I would be fully behind any change to push snipers out of there.
my suggestion would be to add a more obvious smoke trail to sniper rifles first, and obviously do something about the rendering.....if a target is 1000m in front of me, as a sniper I need to see him, even if I can't hit him. I can get in range, but if he's practically cloaked I can't do **** about him. |

Nope. Why do I say Nope? Because it ruins the tactical side of the game. You're supposed to hunt them down and kill them or simply try to dodge their fire as you handle other business. |

From the Fox Guide: Frontline, A Medium Frame Infantry Users Manual:
Quote:Not being Sniper bait
New players die to Snipers all the time, while veterans only die to Snipers who are either really good or just plain lucky. The difference has nothing to do with gear or skill points, although they may help. The difference is that veteran players know how not to be Sniper bait.
Not being Sniper bait involves never standing still, moving unpredictably, and an awareness of both where Snipers are likely to be, and where to find cover from them.
Never stand still! Always keep moving. If you are guarding an objective or covering someone who is hacking, you should be pacing like a child who has had too much sugar. If you are ducked behind cover letting your shields regenerate, you should be shimmying back and forth as much as your cover will allow. Even when you are hacking you can move a little, although if you move too far you will cancel your hack, so only half a step and back when hacking.
DonGÇÖt Move Predictably! For a Sniper, hitting a merc who is running in a straight line toward or away from them is almost as easy as hitting a merc who is standing still. Hitting a merc who is running perpendicular to them is a little harder, but if you are running straight, and at a constant speed, the Sniper will simple place their crosshairs on a spot 5m ahead of your head. Then it is simply a matter of pulling the trigger at the moment your head passes the centre of their sights.
So donGÇÖt let a sniper know where your head is going to be ahead of time. Zig and zag at unpredictable intervals. If you are sprinting, stop sprinting for half a second, every once in a while to throw the sniperGÇÖs timing off.
Get to know where the Snipers are likely to be, and try to keep something between you and them. Try to use girders, walls, or rock outcrops to break line of site between you and prime sniper locations. If there are Snipers or gunners on the roof, or on overhead pipes, figure out where they have a field of fire and where they donGÇÖt. and:
Quote:Locating and calling Sniper Positions
Knowing where enemy snipers are is important for your entire squad. If you have counter snipers, they will need to locate the enemy snipers to take them out, and the rest of your squad will want to try to keep cover between them and the snipers as much as possible.
If you see the contrail of a sniper bullet it will point you back to the sniperGÇÖs location, but you probably wonGÇÖt see it if you are the target. If you are hit by a sniper, or you hear a sniper bullet strike close to you, pay attention to your cover and which directions have an open field of fire on your position. If you are standing against a wall you can narrow the sniperGÇÖs location to a 180 degrees radius. If you are standing in a corner, you can narrow it down to a 45 degrees. If there are other structures or obstructions nearby you can narrow it down further. Then from the possible directions which are left you can try to identify if there are any popular sniper nests that have a line of fire on your position.
Call out where you think the sniper may be.
If you get killed by a Sniper, look at the kill report. Call out the name of the sniper, and the distance of the shot, as well as where you were when you died. Your position and the sniperGÇÖs distance from you will indicate whether the sniper is at the edge of the map, or somewhere much closer. The name is important for your squadGÇÖs counter sniper to know if they got the right guy. Often when looking for an experienced Sniper you will first find an inexperienced sniper who is less skilled at disguising their position.
If you see a sniper, call it out. Describe their location as clearly as possible. Knowing exactly where the sniper is, is always better than knowing approximately where the sniper is. Just remember, there may be more Snipers out there, so donGÇÖt let your guard down. |

The red line is a terrible place, in most cases, for snipers to see the field. If their team is pinned at the red line, it'll happen. At least they're not hiding in the MCC. |

Of course they are within ur range everything for a sniper is in range. That's my point. It's an unfair advantage. Just like saying AR's are over powered. Snipers have the unfair advantage of being hidden and away from the action. It doesn't make the game more strategic at all. It just gives player more of a reason to be a sniper. If u die less you spend less. This game favors vets way to much to attract new players. Newbs are like lambs to the slaughter with no equal playing field. In all other shooters you are fairly equal. Might have different guns that have different options. But no online fps has such a difference between new to vet then this. The more you play the easier the game becomes. So if you play alot you have 1000hp with a better gun and gadgets. If you new you have 200hp with a price of **** milita gun and you die 100 over. I know you don't wanna be like bf or Cod. But at least make it fair. Or is that the point? Make it impossible for those who try the game and don't buy anything and favor the chumps who dump 100 bucks for kits? So in the end this game has **** all to do with skill and all about how much money you are willing to spend. Okay gotcha Guess it's time to switch to boring sniper. |

As a sniper if I get hit by a counter sniper I go to a cheap fit sniper and try and expose myself little by little from about where I was already until they hit me. I.e. Limit yours/there line of sight until they do shoot you.
Then go back in a good sniper fit and you know where to look as you cautiously peek out until you see them.
