It's obvious America just wants to invade and rule every country they can whom is weaker than that and one day, purely through fire-power, money, man-power and resources they will enslave people in LDCs and use them solely to gather resources to pump into America's economy.
Right now all they have are crappy excuses to steal resources but soon they'll be able to do what they want.
It will happen. Unless wars start to turn very nuclear/biological/atomic. I know other countries won't just sit down, bend over and let America have their way like they want to.

This has been in development for at least 5 years. This project is part of many that the US has been developing to aid those who loose limbs in combat. DARPA is the brains behind this and many other black op projects. Look no further than the new DDX destroyer that just set sail. America realizes its not brunt power that will win the next war, it is precise surgical strikes with advance technology that will be the winner of future combat. If everyone knew what they have been working on for the last 10 years they would have a different thought on America and its true dominance in warfare.
Think of it like this, China just launched its first nuclear sub capable of striking America and killing 12 million or more people with nuclear weapons. America just launched the DDX destroyer that has the capability to level all of China's east coast without the use of nuclear weapons. There is a reason America has been spending trillions on defense and we on average a year spend more than the next 10 countries combined.
If you really want your skin to crawl look up what DARPA has been doing with robotic insects and birds.

Still waiting on the Rods from God to become reality. All the power and destruction of a nuke with out any fallout.
DARPA is also responsable for some of the best things (the internet not al gore)and the worst (agent orange, vx, semisentient drones)
Also idk if anyone's mentioned it yet but the Germans have lazors that cut through 1.5 of steel at a hella long range, forgot the actual distance. Plans to mount the system on tanks.

on did any of you see the railgun the US build with the help of UK engineers, the only design flaw they encounter was if they strap it to a ship the recoil would flip it however as a land based gun you turn the UK in floating fortress island and we allready have the ability to ensure any air threat does not make it while a mile of the mainland.

The most interesting thing about the development of TALOS is how other advanced military's will now have to start production of E-war.
Stated TALOS to be deployed next year, so you can imagine that EMPs will be produced as the obvious counter technology. |

You mean less than all the nukes tested though out the 50s through 70s? They're not going to be akin to meteorites, more like falling debri from space. Terminal velocity can only do so much. Now I'd agree with you and be alarmed if they were made to accelerate past TV, but it's all free fall. That's why they gotta be telephone pole sized to achieve results.

In reality this is old news. The Brits were engineering the TALOS suit about 10 years ago. They were talking about it then. Advancements and testing must have went well for the R and D department. They always tell you news that are years late as if they just started when they've been working on this for so long. |

I had to pop bubbles but I doubt that any personal sized suits will be deployed anytime soon. The amount of power that it would take to run the suit cannot be contained within the suit or attached to the suit. They could use a large power cable but a mobile power plant is unlikely.

To piggy back what the robot said; the only delay with mech suits is the powet source, there is currently nothing small enough or quiet enough to provide power for military grade mechs. But who knows what the next half decade will hold for such ideas.

Its hardly practical and probably wont be adopted in any form for several centuries.
Hell we have better body armor that we could fit our soldiers on the field but pretty much no one uses it because it's expensive compared to modern armor plates. Wars faught with robotic exoskeletons? I'll be old before I see that day but I might see Robot Wars 2.0 by the time I hit middle age.
As for those who think Japan did it first, while their publicly available technological innovation is impressive, they're hardly practical in military environments. When you look at the sheer amount of money that the US spends every year on weapons and their military, it really does put things into perspective. That's just the stuff that is documented. |

I've met the program manager for the TALOS suit and check out some of other projects they have going on...pretty impressive. I don't think anyone will be able to deliver an integrated baseline system for a couple years.
Some interesting applications but true leap ahead capability is ways off. |
