okay i watched the video and all i can say is even at Dust's worth it has never been that bad and i have seen dust bad lol. omg i really hope dust is better than what i just saw. i don't think any game out there right now is worst than that.

Rubberbanding isn't an issue for most people. You are probably using that term improperly. That's rare and has more to do with ISP issues.
Frame rate is what makes it a slideshow, and there are a lot of factors that go into it.
Amount of equipment on the field contributes largely. If you play bad opponents, there won't be as much.
Also depends how close to the action you are, which city map you are in, if you're in the city itself, and whether or not you are in a vehicle. |

The closest dust has gotten to this is people popping out of existence because your gun range isn't that far...
Oh and people falling through holes in the floor but that's been fixed.

I have had games where I was getting less than 2 frames per second after about 5 minutes in game.
I have had entire opposing teams quit in PC matches because of frame rate issues.

Despite CoD selling MILLIONS of copies...most of it's players are little 7 year olds who get away with everything and shouldn't even be playing games like that.
Cod is not big on innovation period. CoD is the same thing every year, they are masters though...master of copy and paste repetition.
When i said DUST had potential..i meant that it is a great game even though it has it's flaws. It is a game that may look dusty and weak but is alot better than the likes of CoD with their "realism" and "new stuff"

I'm not saying we need CoD players, nor am I saying people like that are woth having. What I AM saying is consistent players putting money into a game guarantees that if someone were to buy the game there would be countless hours of content to be had because of the sheer size of the playerbase. You may also notice that there is notext chat in CoD and it is VERY easy to mutemics in every game.
I'm sure you also know IWS that there are a noteworthy number of horrible people playing Dust as well. The vocal minority make the rest of hthe playerbase look bad.

BF4 isn't trying to be a long-term, ever evolving, MMORPG. BF4 has amazing visuals and graphics. Dust gameplay looks and feels like a 3-year old FPS. BF3 has better playability than Dust. Why do I say that? If one of the benefits of Dust is supposed to be the ever evolving and improving game, why are fewer and fewer people playing it? For BF3 to be a 'less epic' game that is now 2-years old, it's still getting over 10,000 players in the wee hours of the morning in the States. And while I may not have the business savvy that CCP does, I'm not sure how a shrinking active player base is a sustainable business model in a platform environment. Seems more like a boat anchor around the neck of the EVE-side of the house.
As for the above posted BF4 review, while the screechy voiceover was enough to make me stop watching, I turned down the volume and continued. The 'selective editing' really didn't do justice and to call it a 'review' is laughable. If you want a better review wherein you can at least use the same set of standards (the 'nerd' guy doesn't 'review' Dust, but it would be interesting to see him do it, I suppose) compare these two reviews:

I think the reviews are pretty spot-on and I would also give Dust about a 5 and BF4 (based on the beta) an 8.
So, say what you will about BF4 but, my experience with the beta was largely positive. I think it far more likely that both the release of the PS3 version of BF4 and the PS4 version of BF4 are going to peel off a measurable amount of Dust players than any evolutionary (rather than revolutionary) improvements in the game or other 'welcome back' gimmicks that CCP might offer will have.
My proof? Look at the eve-offline stats for the last week. Immediate drop after BF4 release. True, a minor bump up over the weekend. But continue to watch those stats and I think we'll see a continued drop. And watch those numbers in the next 10-12 days and see what happens with the PS4 release.
So, if you really want to see Dust improve and not be abandoned, everyone here better start telling everyone else how awesome Dust is so those numbers start climbing or there may not be a Dust to 'come back to' in 3-6 months. At least, not if you don't like getting proto-stomped in pub matches because that's all that will be left playing of the thousand or so players. |

The argument essentially boils down to "I have an opinion, but it's not a very strong one so here is somebody elses".
On top of that I've worked for IGN in the past and I will tell you from first hand experience they believe wholeheartedly that it is their job to advertise the games they get early review copies of. They only give a bad score to publishers they either receive minimal compensation from, or a game that is so bad that it invokes a visceral reaction from the reviewer.
In the case of Dust, they aren't particularly worried about any blowback from CCP. Pissing off EA is an entirely different ballgame. |

I was trying to give an apples-to-apples comparison. I'm sure they are biased. Did you actually take the time to look at the two videos? Did you really listen to the critiques? Your reply is to essentially shoot the messenger. I'd rather read some insightful response actually addressing the criticisms if you care to do that. |

That said, its not like IGN was the only review website to give Dust a big fat flop. Just about EVERY review website and notable YouTube personalities agree that Dust doesn't live up to its potential. Battlefield on the other hand just released and with a game where millions are playing it you can expect some hiccups. Dust was given the same free pass for how long? They still having problems too boot... every single patch. |

I think Himiko was writing that IGN doesn't mind pissing off CCP but they are worried about pissing off EA.
But, the central tenet to his(?) argument is that I shouldn't reference IGN because they are not credible due to how they favor EA. There may be some bias towards EA on IGN's part however, that's like saying ZDNet only gives Apple products good reviews because they're 'in the tank' for them when it might actually be that they have good, reliable products that people want to buy. I mean, have you looked at EA's game lineup? It's not like they have many dogs in there, they tend to play it safe. It's not like they're putting out a bunch of 'Fast & Furious: Showdown' or 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' titles. |

The reason CoD is so successful is because at one point it wrote the blueprint for online FPS. Games like DUST still copy it.
Players bought into CoD because they got behind why the game was being made. CoD is still on top because it's still fun to play, its action based; it stimulates. It lags... what game doesn't? DUST is a worse game when listing broken mechanics. The content of CoD may be lacking but you have to keep the game CoD themed.
CoD has been around for a decade. Do you think DUST will be around 10 years from now, or have any innovation left in it(it doesn't have any of that now until EVE links up)?
Since DUST started people have been saying " at least its better than CoD" but still fail to realize on is own merit, DUST is always going to be garbage as well. Top players aren't stupid, if DUST was any good, more than 5,000 people would be playing it worldwide on a daily basis... |

Well just read an article that EA is suing itself for putting out craptacular games, and because of that lawsuit mirrors edge and star wars battlefront may be facing cancellation.

New weapons are great, faction warfare is broken (everyone who want no limits just backvagoning galente), rubberband is big time. Tank spawning, nerf to AV etc. Overall it fun for few games, bt its still flat same story.

actually i thing i leave, its still bigger fun to play starhawk, BF or still few days of MAG than this flatfull mediocresness.
