Yes, more commentary from non-FPS gamers that already consider our existence on their servers an unrighteous burden in their universe.
Capsuleer input on how Dust systems should work has set this game's basic mechanics back by at least a year, setting focus on what a bunch of amateur statisticians think and not how things physically feel and operate.

The amount of hatred on the Dust 514 section of the Eve-O forums is incredible. I hate to say it, but Himiko is right, you guys REALLY don't want to be locked on the same forums as those guys. Let's have a look at the reasons shall we?
1. CCP took funding from their game to make this game. They are resentful, and with the state Dust was released in can you blame them? They see us as another failed CCP experiment.
2. They pay for their access to New Eden, we are given the keys for free.
3. Aurum is a dirty word in Eve Online. Reminds them of broken promises and monocles.
4. We make less money than they do. Simple classism.
To sum it up, most of the Eve-O forums acts like a cat in a snit when the new baby comes home when it comes to Dust 514, so any of you expecting a warm welcome may be in for a surprise. I think it would be entertaining, a real Army/Navy rivalry, but the amount of resources they would have to spend on moderation is probably what's stopping them. |

We "EVE" pilots hate everyone who is not an EVE pilot on our forums.
Everyone who is not an EVE pilot has zero business posting in any section where EVE capsuleers are discussing anything EVE-game related, hence why I am only for a "slice" of merging where we can post in the same "General Discussion" and only the same "General Discussion."
If someone has no EVE account, then they do not have the right nor do we want their (worthless) opinion nor comments no crappy "observed" trolling on anything game related.
This is why most (yes, read the forums, most) Capsuleers are extremely hostile to any group wanting to post on the forums without an active EVE subscription.
I love DUST, I love EVE, I love Warband, and I love a bunch of other games, but I'll be damned if I want anyone on the EVE forums posting there without an active subscription as that gets rid of a lot of idiotic inane spammy worthless garbage "herpaderp" posts like DUST has like the Planetside bomber...

Would you like to read comments on DUST514 from Halo players who don't play DUST on how they think dust should work, or wonderful disruptions like the old planetside bomber?

Both games could be on PC or Console for all I care, I don't give two craps what you like to play on, I love my PC and my PS3 equally (I love the hell out of Dark Souls and think it is one of the best games I've ever played, and that is a PS3 game)
I just don't want people on the EVE forums telling me how to "fly my spaceship and play spreadsheet" if they don't know how and never have flown a spaceship and have never playeyed with the eve spreadsheet stock market.
This is not "I'm better then thou as I fly a spaceship" this is "Don't come into my game/work and tell me how to play/do my job."
One of the things I dislike about the DUST being a free game is that we do have a lot of useless crap on these forums due to "anyone can post here," but that is unfortunately unavoidable due to this being a F2P game.

When i look at the EVE forums, or the DUST forums, the first thing i notice is the large number of posts about ways to improve the respective games. The discussions are sometimes good, sometimes not, but the important thing is that the conversations and discussions to improve our games are taking place.
What isn't taking place is that same conversation about how these two games are going to interact. Its tricky, and requires context and insight from both sides of the gravity well. Having that discussion, one that must happen and one that will affect both games absolutely requires EVE and DUST players in the same thread.
And thats exactly what we dont have.
If we want the link between the games to not only have meaning, but be a good thing for both games we need to bring the communities together, if only in General Discussion, so that we can start discussing the future of our games.
