Playing sniper yesterday and was using my Thale(hugs it) and using the red line. Here comes the boo's. I do not care if you hate me, I like being the villain. Also if maps were designed better I would not be using the red line. There is no decent place to snipe from on most maps. Most views are blocked or most areas are wide open and you are to easy to be seen. Back to my story. So I was head hunting and doing a very good job at it. So it was near the end of the match and I should have called it a day. That is when an orbital goes off in front me, missing me by a few feet. Followed by a suicidal Cal Assault that is able to get in some really good shots before they died from red line exposure. As I am trying to recover and find cover a sniper takes me out. I am not mad, I was actually happy. It took them an orbital, a suicidal assault player, and a sniper to kill me. I felt special to have that much resources dedicated towards me. I have been solo orbitaled before and for me its not upsetting, its a way of them telling you. You are such a pain in our A** we will use any means as necessary to kill you. So i foolishly and had a few to many beers make my way back out to get in a few more kills. That same sniper that got me the first time, well they got me again. Eh, live and learn. I lost a few Thales but I know I have more and this only made me a better player and sniper. Not a QQ or rage thread.
So I have shared my story, now tell us in what way did another team make your death special? |

I know the Feeling of the cal assault. To bad he didn't get you:)
I will also drop an orbital on a redline sniper. The only difference is temporary insanity vs premeditation. "we have an orbital"... "Drop it on that sniper" and "Ooh there's a thale, when we get an orbital, drop it on him" |

From what I gather is if you use a Thale you are more hated than a tanker that goes 50-0 in a pub match. This gives me so much more incentive to use Thales. TY. I have also seen more people using them lately, and I think the trend is growing. The reason is the Thale is the best sniper weapon. The Thale is the way a sniper rifle should be in game IMO. If you think Thales are bad wait for the uprising of the Rail rifle, let the tears flow. Sweet salty tears. |

Respect, bro.
I don't specifically redline, in fact I try to avoid it if possible.
But I love those games where you start to rack up kills and the reds get really, really irked. For me it usually starts at 10 or 12 kills.
Suddenly a clown car loaded with clowns in assault gear comes screaming out of someplace and drives, hell bent for leather, right toward me.
They unload after trying to run me over a few times and immediately start tossing grenades and firing every weapon known to DUST as I run like a frightened bunny.
They usually kill me because I'm laughing so hard I can't see cover.
But man, nothing else tells me I've done my job well.

All they need is the clown horn sound and seltzer bottles. You are right hit the 10 kill mark or kill some proto's and they will send out the dogs. |

Because i know that one thale's lost would personally hurt that sniper more than the 5 other guys in BPO's that i could kill with an OB.

Not really hated just I'd rather cost you a million dollar weapon than killing noobs.
Also people use it because they can hide farther back in the redline than with a Charge to further protect themselves/ hide. |

I have hard time putting cost on an officer weapon for it was salvage. I do believe they are worth a lot, but if I play a lot and I know I can earn even more.

One proto Logi and I, in a basic med. Gallente with an SMG and MD respectively, defended point B on the Impact Ridge Skirmish map for an entire match by ourselves. We were the only ones defending, even when the opposing team held every other objective; blueberries would spawn in and run to capture a point (and fail). The entire match, raspberries kept pouring out of all 4 stairways and across the bridge. I died epically so many times I lost count, but it pleased me to no end to see them start throwing proto assaults and 2 heavies at once at us, they even blew an orbital on the bridge just hoping to get us. We lost the battle but the 2 of us owned that point period! The Logi actually got hate-mail afterward.

Tell you what run out of them and see what it takes to get another. Bet you could get a good tank cheaper honestly. Plus its totally random when or if you get them so have fun waiting. |

I know I've made somebody angry when I call in a MLT tank, then recall it immediately when my opponents are pub stomping. Cause almost always an orbital comes down and hits nill! or me in a free militia suit but that's free!

You can use them in the redline all you want I wouldn't waste an OB on you when I can simply shoot you in the head and watch you run like the rest and if not i'll just simply kill you either way you and your thales are a minor threat
But thats me you like the thale I don't I see it as a pointless weapon

lol, I had so many squad mates yelling at you... Everytime I see your name in the enemy roster, I know there is a Thale or a Charge Sniper somewhere...
Well, it can be very annoying, but you know what? I believe I've never killed you just like you never killed me so far (and I'm perfectly fine with that, I'm not whining about it, lol!) and this is because I rather stay out of it and take some precautions instead of trying suicidal attacks. I don't really love snipers, but raging against them and losing any common sense doesn't really help.
Which precautions? There are many ways not to be an interesting target for a sniper... generally I go for a high HP suit (with some sort of armor regen), so at least I don't get OHKed and I stick to walls and corners. If I have to cross wide open areas, I'd rather call an LAV. Last but not least, I consider tanking to move freely (only if there aren't forge snipers around, though) and stay effective for my team and at the same time I can forget about the sniper.
My personal comment about your story, though, is that you have to expect an OB if you're using a Thale... you're such an appetizing target... XD Be aware that your class is an "annoying" one, lol. Some people are going to hate you...
Now, to answer your question... I didn't really have a special "death", because I managed to survive. I'd call it the "most special treatment".
I was tanking, but I was driving an unusual vehicle. I call it the "Trollogi", because it's a pure anti-tank Gunnlogi made to troll medium-low level Madrugars. The tank is ABSOLUTE crap, because it can't survive a single AV attack, but the double shield hardeners (lol, no one use that thing) represent a nice surprise for enemy tanks. Well, after killing this Maddy, the pilot got mad and called another one, failing miserably. And another one... the 4th tank was a maxed out Maddy with scattered ion, he destroyed my tank easily, but I managed to get out just to see a blueberry finishing him with a Wyrkomi... aaaw good times, good times!
I received some epic ragemail, I believe it said "little b**** got lucky that I get the turret glitch... you don't even know how to drive a tank, scrub"

Thales' aren't a pain in the arse, they're a beacon for OBs.
