So does everyone agree that when we have all racial variants for all vehicle types and suits, we should all get a respec? I really don't see how it'd be a bad idea. I'm pretty sure everyone would be happy. |

I used to be against respecs because I wanted the FOTM followers to pay for their actions.
However, many other people would love a Respec and in the end it would be much more of a positive thing than a negative one.
The new content release is the perfect chance.
Not to mention that there are many players (those who joined during Uprising) who never had the chance to respec and they probably wasted precious SP into wrong skills. Instead, veterans already have proto everything, so I see this being actually more useful to newer players and just giving some "replay" value to seasoned ones, rather than making them even more OP.
So... yes, I agree, Char. |

Yes I agree, because you should be able to pick which heavy, assault, logi, or scout you want, and as of now ppl were forced to spec into certain ones bc the rest weren't in game. Without a respec, ccp would have made this game really long and grindy, and then even worse made you grind and work forever for nothing, bc you used all your sp on the wrong suit.
I currently am only speced fully into assault, speced into other suits to adv stage, but I worked way to hard and long for my sp and if I want to take sp out of minmitar scout and put it into amarr scout then by all right''s I should at least have that choice. And the main factor here and reason to justify the respec is this: ( BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE A CHOICE THE FIRST TIME!!! ) |

Actually at EVE Vegas they said they are very close to releasing the remaining racial dropsuits (either 1.7 or 1.8), and part of the vehicle changes is making the skills generalist (one tank skill to unlock all tanks). In my opinion, the only reason they did the latter was because they want to give a respec to us, but only want to give us one and know there'd be an uproar if we had to wait for the remaining racial vehicles which aren't as close to releasing.
Fairly certain we will see a respec pretty soon. |

I want a respec but this argument is sort of invalid because the very nature of this game means it should never be "finished". They will keep on adding stuff. Where does it end? When the Amarr MTAC comes out in 2016 but the rest don't until late 2017, does that mean another respec? Every time content is added are we supposed to allow a respec?
Keep in mind I am in favor of respecs. Just curious as to everyone's opinion on this. |

I too have railed hard against respecs in the vein of MAG's respecs, though I would support a one-time respec for all characters with more than 2m SP once we have all of the basic content. |

10m is way to long to be appealing to FOTM players |

It's one thing when a couple weapons come out, another entirely when the basic line of suits is finally released and the long list of placeholder weapons sorts out, and vehicles are reworked all at the same time. I hate the concept of regular respecs as much as anyone, but this is change on a fairly massive scale. Honestly it could be considered the long overdue release of basic content and arguably mark the effective end of beta. |

Keep in mind I am in favor of respecs. Just curious as to everyone's opinion on this. It's really not that hard to figure out. Give a respec when all the racial variety of current gear is out, that is step 1. Step 2 is don't release anything new until all racial variants are completed. Quite frankly they shouldn't release an Amarr MTAC without releasing the other three at the same time, as in your example. But even so, vehicle skills are becoming non-race specific so that solves that problem.
Respec for new stuff? No Respec for stuff that is a racial variety of current gear and should of been in the game from the beginning? Yes |

There are so many changes coming down the pipe, a respec is inevitable now.
If CCP didn't want respecs after official release, they shouldn't have offered a respec after official release. With the looks of these changes, a full optional respec will be the only fair way of handling it without bogging CCP down for a month + trying to refund SP by hand (even more so than a full respec, which amusingly, still must be done by hand) |

Adding new classes and roles of Dropsuits and vehicles does not warrant a respec.
Heavy and Scout Dropsuits are existing classes/roles with missing variants.
No race currently has an MTAC, so this would be a new class/role. Which should only be added with all 4 Racial Variants. |

Yes thats correct, but as long as we dont have a timeframe it could be in 1.8 or 2.1 both could be accurat. We just have to wait and see.

For example, the following is not always correct, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1
Instead, the following could happen, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11
Basically the dots separate degrees of magnitude. The first number get updated with a major overhaul like it's almost a new product, the second number represents significant updates, a third number if present (e.g. v1.12.2) represents minor changes, and a fourth number is not really used conventionally.
If the devs considered the update past 1.7 to be major enough, it could be 1.7, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 For example.
Hope that makes sense and informs at least one person Dust 514 itself will likely not get a v2.0 simply because for example the new update coming out is actually Dust 514: Uprising v1.6. When CCP gets to a point where they believe major changes have occurred, they will likely give it a new name, so Dust 514: [New Name] v1.0 |

It does sound fair that when the game is actually at Launch status, they give respecs so people can go to the faction they originally wanted to go to, but didnt have a suit for it yet. I mean its gotta suck for a heavy to need to spec into heavy for a second time to get the suit they now want.
I would just spec back into amarr suits & Scramblers, because my 12 eve characters all being Amarr doesnt say enough that i am an amarr loyalist yet :p
But i will defo try out the new Rail rifle aswell, but seeing its full auto its gonna be horrible to play with. (i suck with full auto guns) |

Wow yeah, havent looked at it like that yet...the game really should have had all basics covered when it came out and not run behind itself with a SP system your stuck in at.
