Still no match? 5 million and so on and so forth.
Also, I'm talking about who they match you against, not who's on your team. What about the guys who skilled very generally, like me.
You can make a pubstomping suit with 5 million.
1 mil for suit, 1 for rifle, 2 for buffer mods, 1 for repper mods.
I have 8 million, but I only have 2 skills to 5
Does that mean I'm just stick to get grinded into paste by those who didn't explore? |

its why i think they need to bring back the pre-fixed skills based on the beginner roles you choose as well as the 500k starter SP. giving new chars the basic skills to build onto and improve will help steer them on the correct path. EVE treats newbies very well, they get 2 free re-specs on their attribute settings and double skill skill training for first month or so.
If a new dust player starts off with 1mil sp (500k fixed 500k unallocated) apply double sp gain and maybe have ability to raise and lower skill levels for the first 30days so players can try out a skill and then reset it to lv0 to try something else out |

I recommended to a bunch of friends at work to create a character and then not play the game for at least 6 months. The new player experience is absolutely atrocious. I still don't understand why I grinded through it. |

I actually think CCP may ahve turned off match making. The first 2 weeks after matchmaking was introduced, pubstomping almost disappeared. But around the time that all the scotty errors and matchmaking related hangs went away, the battles got quite unbalanced again. Not as bad as the pre-1.4 days, but still noticeable. |

CPP doesn't want to split the player base, understandable. The solution is clear as day, but CCP has already stated their opposition to it. New players should use public contracts, vets faction warfare. If you draw the vets into a more engaging environment with larger payouts and equipment, so long pubstomps. An easy fix for serious problem. I want to play in my proto suit, but I usually refrain from doing so, because of new players. |

I would like to see a game mode where proto is not allowed. I think it would make it more fun for newer players. |

Higher starting SP, remove the cap, higher passive SP.
They need to make it possible to make a character decent in a few months instead of 6.
They need to incentivize both players to join corps as well as corps to take in new players.
Their needs to be a standard/militia only game mode. |

I have 27.5 mil SP. Removing the cap would not benefit me. Before that response comes in |

Think, on top of a higher WP cap, each player in the Academy needs to be auto-assigned to a four man squad to be led by a more experienced volunteer. Could answer questions, give advice, help better prepare players for what is to come, essentially like a guided tutorial. The "tutors" would not be limited in terms of what they could use, BUT could only kill/be killed by each other, so they wouldn't be able to stomp the opposition noobs while letting them see higher level gear and fighting. Additionally, having a real person aid them in allocating SP, using squad tactics, building fittings, etc would foster a more meaningful, human connection to the game, maybe making the early game experience feel less frustrating and futile. |

I almost think it could go so far as new players shouldn't be able to allocate SP until they've joined a corp.
Pushing new players toward a corp should be the top priority for NPE. Being in a squad of 10 mil + SP players helps a low SP player.
Any player in an NPC corp should have to exit a corp recruitment screen every time they log in. |

the problem with that is they may feel pressured and join the wrong corp. For example they could wind up in PRO with that moron contrabanjoe

He's not running things over there anymore. But I hear you.
That's why it should be a corp recruitment screen. With some info on the corps, not just a pitch from the corp.
This way the recruit could see member numbers, position on the leaderboards and such. |

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:Starting SP could help a wee bit but overall there is nothing you can do to replace actual experience, those who been playing since close beta will always have a leg up over the noobs even if you give him a newbie account he is totally going to destroy academy.
Better matchmaking would work but that requires a larger pool of players to draw from to get semi-decent skill slotting.
Another solution we can look at is pre-implanting new characters with the omega boosters 30days as a good head start. OP, you know how every MMO in existence ever lets you get from level 1 to level 2 in like 5 minutes, level 3 in 15 minutes, level 4 in an hour ... level 49 to level 50 in several weeks? Pretty sure the low starting SP is somewhat related; if your first week doubles your SP pool you feel like you are making progress. It's one factor that is designed to keep you engaged. I think 1million could work, but I think you'd want to reduce skillbook cost so that it's not just an ISK grind in the beginning. Giving new characters too much starting ISK is too exploitable.
I like the pre-implanted boosters idea, but marketing would probably have to be convinced since you're sacrificing potential revenue. |

I always equated joe with some sort of Reverend Jim Jones cult like figure. I never understood why folks followed him so blindly. Even one of my friends fell victim to his sweet talk and even defended him after we took 600 million from him in a corp battle back on chromosome. |

No, he and a few others stayed there. Someone E1se is a good dude and he's trying to fix the mess.
There was really an effort to prevent PRO from ever being competitive by Joe. It was one of the weirdest things I've seen. |
