Been tanking since dust first started up. Got plenty of expericene driving tanks in dust and other games a like battlefield. Every post I see about havs are QQ threads or asking CCP to make them OP.
Tanks are fine, the av stuff can get annoying at times, but if your smart and got enough sp. Its really easy not to lose a tank in a match and get 20+ kills.
If u don't believe me, add me in dust and ride along wit me during a match.
Edit- I got 5-8 mil in vehicle skills |

Tanking may be fine for you and however SP you have invested in piloting, but the biggest issue is accessibility for newer tankers. There's nothing to learn from a single AV weapon capable of shutting down an opposing team's vehicle usage that can kill you from well beyond your rendering distance without enough decency to be able to retreat. Experience tankers have managed in these tough times, but it's the new aspiring pilots that suffer. It's like trying to take on a Dovolle AR in a starter fit. |

Don't take this wrong, but "known" tankers say otherwise, and the fact that I can solo a tank, suggests tanks aren't "fine". Please.
The amount of feedback that people gave CCP RIGHT BEFORE Uprising on how to improve tanks, then to see what tanks have become is one of the biggest jokes in DUST.

The biggest problem with HAVs is more so 2 things.
Game malfunctions: Shooting people that disappear on the screen, etc.
ISK balance: HAV users can have really good gear on their vehicle, but they either pay out more ISK for it, or sacrifice CPU/PG. You can have superior equipment that takes up less CPU/PG, but you have to pay up the a-hole for it. AV players don't have that. They deck out in a 150,000 ISK Protosuit and can take out a 4 million ISK HAV single handed. HAV users need a way to get there HAVs off the field in a hurry if they have to despite whatever damage they have taken. |

against a **** load of proto av... no
against enemy vehicles, yes...
tanks have no role of their own other than the player created one which is:
HAV- Heavy armored attack vehicle, whos main purpose is enemy suppression (blocking enemy vehicles form gaining ground and any other parts of the map outside their side of the field) and point defense (killing anyone that tries to hack an objective in clear sight of the tanks guarding it) |

Didn't mean to offend anyone if I did. I do tend to have trouble with proto av guys, but I've found ways around that. As far PC matches go, its either a hit or miss. I think it really comes down to wat your fit is and wat skills you have.
Edit- lol of course it does.... |

I think you're bad, hear me out.
HAVs are not fine in a competitive environment, HAVs are only fine when they're in the hands of experienced and "intelligent" players, new players die a lot, very quickly. Meaning they're constantly broke and beaten every match and the only way they can play is by not using a tank
A single AVer can pin down every vehicle in the map without any issues. A single HAV costs around the same for 10 AV Suits. Cost difference is utterly ridiculous and needs to be re-evaluated
It's not balanced at this moment in time, people need to stop coming here after fighting bad players in public matches with their opinion. I mean, I can go 30/0 (hell, 55/0 best pubstomp) easy enough against terribad players, that doesn't mean AV is balanced, because then I (and other Tankers) go 10/4 in a PC match, I mean I played one match where I went 0/5, I got absolutely hammered a single AVer.

King of the Forums // Vehicle Specialist for Hire Comment and like this thread about PvE, Here! Also, check out the Indirect Fire ability, Here! ^truth, i've gone 20/0 in an ADS in some matches, and i've heard of some other pilots going around 30/0 on rare occasions, you can't make balnce decisions based on matches where a competent, experienced vehicle user goes up against a team of incompetents, or a match where you have a proto squad stomping so hard that av has no chance to target the tank. you take a vehicle, any vehicle into a pc match against a competent team then you will get blown to hell, hell i've seen a single IAF on a tower lock down an entire pub match, he could hit the areas surrounding every single objectives, if not the objectives themselves and could even shoot into our redline, and thats a pub match where any coordination is only at a squad level, in a pc match things are much much worse, they sky is lethal, ground cover is minimal, any attempt to be useful results in you becoming a target that will pop very quickly, regardless of ehp levels. |
