So, I've been doing a thing lately for every match I lose (Ambush)
I take the bottom half of each team, 8 players a piece usually. and I simply add their K/D.
For example I just lost and I added up my team: 0/15 and their team 17/10 I know the majority of the playerbase is quite bad actually, and I know the game doesn't always work, but I think the SP grind has spawned selfish mentality.
If you go 0/6 and have 25WP, or do even worse, normally a player would leave the game; often to their team's benefit. I have been matches all my life where I would have won if my teammates hadn't been on my team(that's a whole different debate though).
But in DUST, you don't get SP if you leave the match, and you don't get ISK. This is why AFK-ers killed the game for Domination and Skirmish matches. But going ultra negative isn't helping anyone either. But DUST will still reward the player with bonus SP and some kind of ISK...
I don't know if that's right. Should most of the reward in this game be performance based? We are mercenaries, if one of my team f*cks up a contract and doesn't contribute to the team, shouldn't they get no money and a boot out the door? There already is no incentive to do well or win in this game, so what's the point of playing in the matches? What's the point of harvesting SP to buy Equipment and Upgrades that don't matter; because winning and doing well isn't needed.
Some people and Corps have so much money, that people don't need to be decent anymore. A whole chain can have nothing but weak links, but if you have 16 good strong ones, they can fund 1000s of slackers.
And before you answer "I try to do well because its my nature. I do well, for well's sake. I don't mail in a performance, I'm not a slacker, etc..." Remember, the majority of people are lazy and don't care. What's the point of burning through Prototype gear, and gaining massive SP if you dying and losing means nothing in this game? |

So...what about new berries who are trying to grind out ISK for decent gear and SP to use them so they can be somewhat competitive? New players who will almost certainly have poor scores and k/d, particularly when they're tossed out of the academy and into the meat grinder.
Performance based rewards heavily favour players who already know the ropes, have the gear, and have the skills to use them. Definitely something to consider for FW/PC, but not for pubs. |

Have you ever actually thought that the reason people go negative or don;t do so well is because ppl like you run full proto in pubgames when those so called liabilities are just out of the academy in full militia trying to learn the game ?? If you were talking about PC then I might be more forgiving but seeing some protoscrub complain that not everyone does as well as they do when they are in militia and you are in proto is pathetic
What the hell do you expect new players to do ?
You are by far and away the biggest ****** I have ever seen comment on these forums !
Protostomping is your choice but raging against people who don;t do as well as you when you are protostomping in pubgames is the lowest of the low |

You accused me of Protostomping 3x, apparently you know something I don't. I don't Protostomp. But basically this post is about rewarding ISK and SP to people you didn't contribute to it. In P/C, FW, and in Pubs. Because DUST has no incentive to win, except in P/C.
CCP's Bonus SP needs to be changed to Incentive SP.

FFS. If you do well in a match you get a better payout and more SP. Of course the lowly bad player has to be given something... the real issue is once the game gets further along how do you get the players to self-segregate. If bad players play bad players then can have fun fighting each other and eventually get better.
If they are stuck playing assholes who whine about bad players taking them down then they'll just give up and leave altogether. |

Good point, OP.
There's a good way to solve this: before players are allowed to start playing Dust they should be required to demonstrate that they are in the top 25% of players in another online FPS.
That way, you don't have to play with scrubs who are still trying to learn how to play. |

You do know the amount of money we make in a match is nothing compared to what I can earn running 1 level 4 mission. I make millions running level 4's. 300k is a drop in the bucket in new eden. |

That's part of the problem. What kind of economy has unlimited money without inflation? Even if/when the player based market shoes up, it'll be just like EVE, money won't be an issue except to new broke mofos

matchmaking sucks, newberrys are put against vets regularly. when we have a matchmaking system that puts players against others of their level your argument will become valid. |
